1  Matt I.  · Scam Site – Complete scam. I just reprinted 1000 brochures rather than give these scam artists any money.

Same as everyone else. Should have checked reviews first. Not free. Basically a scam, Completely misleading. End up trapped needing to pay if you'd used the code on anything important.

TOTAL SCAM! Do not fall for this scam! COMPLETELY ILLEGAL COMPANY! It is NOT FREE as advertised! It did not say TRIAL anywhere! I accepted their offer for a FREE QR CODE and printed it on 80 invitations only to get an email in a week that said the code had been DEACTIVATED and I had to pay $119.00 for the shortest subscription they offer! I was… Read more

forced to pay the outrageous fee because I had already mailed all the invitations! AND it will AUTO-BILL FOR AUTOMATIC RENEWAL if I fail to cancel before the renewal date AND it will NOT LET YOU CANCEL EARLY!

Misleading! On the homepage, you're shown how to create a QR code, its various features, and the bold message "Create your free QR code." If you don't scroll down, you won't immediately see that the QR code you're about to generate is a "dynamic" version (offering tracking and statistical analysis capabilities) that expires after seven days… Read more

unless you pay between $120 and $240 (depending on the plan you choose). You'll only realize this after you've already sent your files to print, or even started distributing your materials.

All of this is clearly stated, but the developers know perfectly well that the average user just wants to download a free QR code to print a few flyers and doesn't look at all the details, only to find themselves trapped: paying a hefty sum to retain the ability to use their QR code or reprinting with a code generated elsewhere?

Is it legal? Yes. Is it ethical? You be the judge.

Personally, I found other alternatives, 100% free and of very good quality, and my QRfy account was quickly deleted :)

want to warn others about QRFY’s subscription practices. My subscription automatically renewed for $239.88 with no prior renewal reminder. Auto-renewal is enabled by default. I canceled my subscription the same day the charge occurred and did not use the service after renewal. Despite the same-day cancellation, QRFY refused to issue any refund,… Read more

citing their Terms & Conditions and a strict no-refund policy. There is no grace period and no flexibility, even when a customer cancels immediately. While this may technically comply with their policy, the combination of mandatory auto-renewal, lack of renewal notification, and zero refund consideration feels predatory and not customer-friendly. If you choose to use QRFY, be sure to cancel well in advance of your renewal date, because once the charge posts, there appears to be no recourse. Posting this so others can make an informed decision.

This site advertised free QR code generator. I created one and created a flyer with the QR code on them. I ordered 5000 flyers. When I tried to scan the code, I was taken to a page that said the code was deactivated. Apparently I was supposed to pay for the QR code somehow. I looked into pricing. Out-fkg-rageous! They try to strong arm people… Read more

for $20/month to keep the code activated. There's actually free apps that do the same thing. I can't wait for the class action lawsuit.

QR Code Generator which is NOT free – This is bait and switch. You think you're getting a free QR code made and then it expires after 7 days and is deactivated until you pay handsomely... Don't use if you were expecting a one-off and not a relationship.

Total scam of a company, do not fall into their trap. We printed 1 QR code on 100 wedding invitations only to find out that unless we paid $120, our QR code would no longer work

Wish I could give this scam of a company zero stars. Just a scam to get your money and should be reported! No-one needs a QR code for 7 days and they don't tell you you have to pay to keep it working. I hope the company fails asap!

Absolute scam. "Free" QR code turns into $20/month ransom after 7 days. How the hell do you think you're going to get people to pay you $240 a year for a QR code.

Don't use it. Its not free. Your qr code will expire in 7 days and youbwill ve forced into 3 months subscription. The website is misleading. Use a free generator in chrome, canva, adobe, etc.

SCAM, WARNING TO BRIDES/GROOMS I created QR codes for my wedding invites through QRfy, it says FREE QR codes all over google searches and its website and nowhere does it say only a 7day free trial. After printing everything, I got an email to say the code expires after a week unless you pay a ridiculously high monthly fee. Now we have to reprint… Read more

our wedding invites and waste more money :( It’s misleading, not transparent, and I would never recommend this site. Brides and grooms beware!

This is a total scam. “Free” becomes monthly fees, which becomes “charges for a whole year,” all at once (no choice) which becomes “your trial period has ended,” which becomes “sign up for a subscription.” Which a person has already done. This then becomes, “ One of your QRs received a scan but it was disabled.” which is a lie because I never… Read more

released any QR codes I generated during the “trial period.” THEN … all additional correspondence to set this right is ignored. I’m out around $ 130, but Visa will be going after this scammer. The irony is that Trust Pilot then gives this a top rating. I no longer trust Trust Pilot.

Same experience, didn't realise it required a subscription and have printed event flyers so had no option but to pay. Doesn't provide an option for shorter subscription period than 3 months. 0 star rating.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! ITS A SCAM! I generated a QR code using QRFY. Its not free. there is a 7 day trial period, they will deactivate your QR code after this. You have to pay a subscription of $64 per month to reactivate after this. They are breaching Australian Consumer Laws (section 18 and section 23). that states they must must clearly… Read more

disclose the terms of any trial period. Section 236 of this law states that you can take legal action as their company (QRFY) breaches the ACL (Australian Consumer Law), to seek remedies such as refunds, replacements, or compensation for damages.

SO SNEAKY! Says "free" but codes only work for 7 days unless you pay a CRAZY amount for an ongoing subscription. Four banners going into the bin - an expensive lesson but I'm refusing to fund their trickery.

Wish I could rate 0star, completely false, they give a free QR code then when time is critical email to say you must pay, we paid but it’s a monthly fee that’s ambiguously calculated to be in the hundreds of $$$. Then when all forgotten, nearly $200 is taken again from account. They don’t refund, instead they quote a small print that no one reads,… Read more

it’s unfair, overpriced and unreasonable. They should not be trading. Need to be investigated by authorities.

Terrible! Deactivating a QR code after I had put it in the world. I paid $200 for 3 months subscription because I desperately needed the QR code to work, but it still didn't work despite my subscription. Absolutely do not use this company!

I WISH I COULD LEAVE A NEGATIVE 5 star review!!! Misleading!! They offer a one week free trial. IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT THE QR CODES YOU GENERATE DURING THAT ONE WEEK TRIAL STOP WORKING UNLESS YO SEND THEM MONEY!!! There are much more reputable QR generators out there!

Avoid!!! Says it’s free, then in a few days you will be asked to pay. They show monthly prices but charge you the full yearly amount. They will not refund. Do not get confused by their website. This is a scam. Real companies have customer services. This place doesn’t care about the customer.

Would give zero stars if I could. They are purposefully misleading in price and you think you’re paying 19.99 per month and then they bill you $240 for the year. Want a refund? They won’t. They’ll send you their scam policy and stop replying. Use a better business with more transparent and better business practices.

Subscription base QR codes this is ridiculous. Guess I should've read the fine print made a bunch of prints and now they want to charge me $20 a month to keep my QR code active. There are so many free QR code generators out there. It's insane. Do not use this serv.

I’d give them negative stars if I could. They’re insanely misleading! I’m opening a business and had my opening information and sticks printed with these QR codes. With no notification that there was a subscription needed. I then needed to pay for it as my code was disabled! They list the subscription pricing as charged per month and you can… Read more

change it anytime. So I think that’s fine I can do the year and just cancel it after a while. I see that it’s charging me $32. NOPE $395 with no refund. So effing shady!!!

DO NOT USE QRFY! Advertised as free, then they deactivate your QR code and make you pay I used QRFY codes because they were advertised as free. to pay $65 a month for 3 months, $50 a month for 6 months or $33 a month for 12 months. What an absolute scam and rip off of a company! I wasted money and time printing the wedding invitations with a QR code that now doesn't even work! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Scammers who mislead – Tricked by all the advertising saying it's all FREE, but it is too late when you find out the truth. Then they email you and say your trial is finish and you need to sign up to a complete abusive plan or the QR code won't work. I did actually print all my business cards with a QR, that is not longer working. I hope someone may them pay for all this misleading

FAKE Advertising – Sucks people in saying it's all FREE and then email you saying your QR codes won't work unless you sign up to a rediculously priced PLAN. They also say in their FAQs they do NOT offer refunds on any PLANs if you want to cancel.
