I was first contact at 8:00 PM at night by a lady who wanted a lot of my personal information but was not willing to say for what purpose other than it was from RACQ which rang some alarm bells as I have been a member of RACQ for 15 years and never had anybody call me out of hours asking me about my personal details as they have all of them due to… Read more
the policies I have with the company. three weeks later I received a letter in the mail saying that they were recovering a debt of approximately $2000 for RACQ which I do not have any debts as I have a direct debit set up for my policy as well as prepaid roadside assistance. today again at 7:00 PMI received a text message from somebody who claims to be Recoveries Corp and gave me a telephone number to ring about an urgent matter So I googled them and found that there are many reports scan behaviour by the company and I very low trust score from another reputable scam detection website provider I work. it is strange that they have my details I'm not sure if RACQ have been hacked And my personal information has been sold on but even my phone suggested that it was a spam text and there was a button that says delete and report as spam which I did do
Received an email from this company in regards to a settled account with a Telco company. Notifified to my former Telco company which they confirmed there is nothing owing. Forwarded replied email to them and yet a few months later, they sent me an email asking about this same payment again!! Very annoying
Completely Non Transparent and shady – Received a SECOND letter of demand in the mail from this business on the 21st of January, 2025, when I had never received any first letter from them (or any other contact for that matter) The letter was dated the 13th of January and demanded payment of $2,627.45 cents by the 20th of January 2025 (Which is not helpful as the letter arrived the… Read more
mail, a DAY AFTER the demand date expired) So I attempted to contact this business, (no contact numbers/details or name was on the letter of demand) and was given the runaround for no less than six hours. Each customer service officer i spoke with (I mean the ones that didn't actually hang up on me or leave me listening to music in a queue for up to 45 minutes at a time) stated that the reference number in question was either not valid or not accessible. Eventually I came to the conclusion that there is ZERO wrong with the reference number as it appears to WORK perfectly fine, when placed into the online payment portal, of the said above mentioned company!! I have at this stage, lodged formal complaints with the ACCC and ACFA and am in the process of seeking legal advice as well. Finally, I just want to add, that this behavior as exhibited by this business is disgusting and appalling, considering we are in the middle of a severe cost of living crisis. I also want to add, the original amount owing was due to a wage overpayment, that happened when I was contracted to work for a (certain) government department back in 2018. It is NOT because of not paying my credit card bills or fleecing someone else out of their money...........the direct debit that i was paying back the amount owing, (a small amount) was closed on me. I did attempt to contact the (certain) government department back several times to let them know this, without success!! They retaliated by selling my debt to RecoveriesCorp (without contacting me at all)
