Result - a flat battery overnight. It GoBlock obviously does not cut charging if the car battery falls below 12.7v as it shoulf do. In addition, if you purchase one, my advice is discuss with the installer whether yr vehicles alternator will need upgrading to charge yr car battery as GoBlock will draw up to 55amps, plus amps for every other accessory in yr car and brakes, battery chargers etc if you tow a caravan. An expensive fix.
Disappointing – I've owned the product since release. Its has defintely not done what I would expect. It's frustrating that it seems to completely ignore its own voltage thresholds to switch off the unit and not drain your car battery. I use the goblock dock too. voltage (I've tried all the possible settings. It should be a very simple thing to do. if my 200 series landcruiser is not running the engine, the goblock shouldn't take any energy at all. It does not do this. The recovery feature also cannot be trusted. If the car is completely dead, the ignition switch cannot be turned on to charge the car. I need to use another battery to do this (I've had 2 replacement goblocks). I think there are also some pretty basic things that could be done to make this unit better, like being able to switch the power on and off to the usb ports via the app, but I've not seen any features added to the app or firmware that reach the potential of this product. I think this product didn't go through nearly enough testing in a very popular Australian vehicle.
The dock as well is large and overpriced. it should come with one for free, otherwise you cant charge it quickly.
If the product did the things above it would be worth 2k, not 3k. In its current state it's worth no more than a grand.
