down the spine, so if you want either of these this isn't for you. However it does have a spot function with ability to adjust up and down in small increments. It does a single rotation clockwise, halts, then counter clockwise, so it isn't continuous.

Not a lot of difference between low, medium and firm settings. Requires a straight back chair to get the best out of it.

Summary: A decent, non-expensive unit - would recommend.
