transactions take days to complete, and decline for unknown reasons. You are then left to pay the high fees when this occurs

Check your fees and bank statements for incorrect fees (randomly ranging from $2-4 per month) and $15 “direct debit dishonour” fees when automatic payments are TURNED OFF for over a year! I’ve discovered well over $100+ of bogus transactions automatically debited from my bank account fraudulently by RentPay!
Used this service for two years, still getting flagged as fraudulent payments making my rent late. Now using the tag line of developers issues. Trying to organise a work around with one of there representatives Terence, kinda disappointing how you treat long-term customers

This has been the most frustrating and worst experience in my life. I was forced to use this as a payment of rent. Support is terrible. Everything has a fee. If you want to bhave no fees charged you will need to pay 3 4 days in advance to you rent, before it is due. The company is making a killing over small fees charged to customers and this app… Read more
has caused delays. This app will put normal renters in arrears if you do not pay well in advance. In normal cicumstances it will be on time and with Rentpay you will be in arreares.

The direct debit is slow and unreliable. "Same day" means "before their cut-off". Customer service are defensive. The market is ripe for a disruptor or a competitor to replace this same basic product

This is a Sc*m. Complete nonsense. Very unnecessary. They Rob all the clients.
Adds no value to the rent payment process (paying by BPAY or direct debit was a non-issue). Now we have to download an app and pay an extra fee, on top of all the other cost of living pressures families have to deal with? Who came up with this nonsense? Hard pass please.
Just got a letter from the real estate agent saying they are transitioning us onto Rentpay as of the next rental payment due. I have been paying my rent by automatic direct debit fortnightly for five years without a problem. Now I am being told that an automatic direct debit will incur a charge of $0.85 for each payment, whereas a manual direct… Read more
debit is offered as the free option. I can't believe it costs Rentpay any more to pass on my automatic direct debit than it would to pass on a manual direct debit, but the latter would be a pain in the arse for me. Not impressed. I have told my agent I won't be paying the rent via Rentpay but will continue to pay it directly into their account by automatic direct debit.

Been paying my rent direct to my real estate for over 3 years and now am being forced to pay my rent with this app. I do not enjoy the direct debit service (too slow and unpredictable) and it appears the only similar way I can pay my rent is with my debit card taking the funds direct from my account but now they charge me $8 per transaction as a… Read more
MasterCard fee!! What the?? $416 over the course of 1 year to pay my rent?? I certainly didn't see that charge in my lease. I'll be making a complaint to my real estate.

Renting with Grown and Co real estate - they forced us onto this platform as it had a free option to pay rent. This free option take 3-4 days for rent to be received by the property manager. This means we have to pay our rent well in advance for us not be in arrears. This week a got a call from RentPay operator wanting to discuss my rental… Read more
payments which I kindly declined to discuss anything with an operator not qualified to discuss matters related to residential tenancies because your operators are not licensed with the Fair Trading so this is a nice project for me to start working on as I will be reporting this to the office of Fair Trading after writing this review.

Falsely Advertised – Falsely advertising partnerships with major retailers you are supposed to get 15% off shopping from eg, woolworths, bws, big w, kamart and so-on. Thought it would be good for this discount so signed up and then realised how painful the customer experience is for such a simple task - and you get charged high credit card fees for the "service" It feels like an app in testing or BETA...

RentPay is trash – Absolute trash. Forced into using some fintech SAAS product by dirtbag real estate agents. I was happily paying my rent by the same method for over 3 years and now all of a sudden I have to interact with this ridiculous (alleged) product. Support is hopeless, the chat expert just keeps repeating themselves and doesn't actually try to help. … Read more
RentPay IS NOT ABOUT HELPING RENTERS. They're about lining their own pockets and making it easier for predatory businesses to take every cent they can from us.

Hate it – They charge for the privilege of paying your rent. And I have no other option
Works as advertised – I have been using rentpay for well over a year now and also using features bill smoothing, scorebuilder and recently paylab for cashback. Everything works as advertised and I have received hundreds in cashback over this time making the monthly fee well worth it. I have built up a buffer and used it when needed over the holiday period and the last two electricity bills I've received had "Amount due $0" thanks to the use of bill smoothing.
Pointless service – They charge a fee when you use a card. Direct debit takes forever to process. They're basically an arbitrage payment service that benefits no one by leeching off of both the tenant and landlord/agent.
What a f#ckaround – How hard could it possibly be to accept rent from tenants. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops or pay fees to pay rent, and yet here we are.

Another set of people making money off renters – TLDR: As a current landlord AND a renter, I can honestly say - stay away from RentPay. Fee of $2 per a month for the honour of your rent being handled by a middleman. High fees for most transactions; credit card, debit card, even BPAY. Very high fees if a payment is declined; $15! No warning or 'strikes,' just an instant $15. There is a large… Read more
delay between funds going out of your bank and into RentPay, then from RentPay to the real estate agent. This means you have to pay rent many days earlier than you would have otherwise. App and browser are annoying to use, and logging-in is a chore. Payment history only goes back about 2 months, anything more and you have to ask support, whom then ask for more details, and take ages to get back to you - when it could easily be 2 clicks away if one were paying the real estate agent directly from their bank account. "Pay when you want" is exactly the same as scheduled transactions that you can set up with most banks (and is fee-free, quicker to process, and easier to setup). "Bill smoothing" is paying your utilities early, in smaller instalments (this is money better left in a savings account). "Build your credit score" is just access to payday loans. And to top it off, it's all dressed up in Alegria-like design (those colourful depictions of people in whacky poses, big smiles, curvy arms), and obnoxious slogans stating "for the renter" (how exactly?), and "make that rent money work for you" (i.e. for us) and "pay when you want" (i.e. early or really early or really really early).
I would actually recomnend this and im fussy! – We were forced onto rent pay by our real estate agent and were admittedly very sceptical....turns out we had nothing to worry about. Its very simple and easy to use and doesn't cost us a bean other than the 30secs it takes to make the payment.
Scam4 suckers – This is just a dodgy dogy way that real estates use to scam more money from renters.

Save your time and protect your sensitive personal information! – Seen this service advertised on Instagram, Decided I would sign up to get the the airline points. It turns out this service is nothing but a glorified payday lender and from what I could tell they expect you to pay them your rent a few days before its due, and they hold on to the funds for a few days and forward it to your agent or landlord… Read more

Good to keep track of your rental payments – I use this service because they offer a period matcher which helps me a lot to keep track of everything related to the rental payments. I do the wallet deposits fortnightly and it pays my rent weekly.
Just continue the way you pay your rent and never ever use this service – I first got hooked into using their service because of their advertisement. It seems like they offer the best way to automate stuff. However, there are some things you should take note of and why you shouldn't use their service. (Based on my experience as a new customer) 1. App Usability - The app is almost good. However, it failed miserably with… Read more
one thing, ADDRESS LOOKUP. It couldn't find my address and it wouldn't let you continue with the setup until it is filled out. I ended up calling them to get this fixed so that's another wasted time for something they should have fixed or made OPTIONAL instead of Required.
2. Payment - RentPay offers two ways of funding the account. Through "Direct Debit" or through debit/credit card with some 1.**% fee (which is ridiculous for someone paying rent). Because of this, I chose to use Direct Debit which I scheduled on a Business Day. - ISSUE: The problem with this is that the direct debit amount was not processed on the date it was requested. It was late and this created some issues for me as I never pay late.
3. Customer Support - They offer live chat which is convenient for people like me who doesn't have time to be on the phone. - ISSUE: However, for some godly reason, they couldn't authenticate you over chat for a simple question so you'd have to call. To add to this, their customer service doesn't seem to know how payments work and would just for a runaround explaining things. To give you an example, we could go back to the payment issue I had. Normally a DIRECT DEBIT would process on the same day (business day) you have advised. If it falls on the weekend then it gets deducted from your bank account on the next available business day.
That being said, the direct debit amount was not processed on my specified date. So, I contacted them via CHAT and PHONE and was told it's because of the clearing time. I worked with different clients and that is NOT TRUE. Direct Debit is supposed to DEBIT from your bank account whichever date is specified by the customer. CLEARING time is the time required for the balance to clear the moment it was deducted from the customer's account to where it is supposed to go.
VERDICT: Like what I said, never use this service. If their customer support wouldn't even listen to what the customer is explaining nor even had the knowledge on how their service works then something is wrong. AS AN UPDATE, up until now, the direct debit has not been processed from my bank account. Also, Commbank told me they could set an automatic payment for me instead.
