Great Value Great Service When Claiming
Easy to purchase insurance and definitely much cheaper than insurance at car rental desk (half price). Hit a Wallaby and made a claim once all paperwork came through from rental company which took a while because of Easter and repairers on holidays and busy. Rental Car company took $2,000 from credit card to hold for damages and they refunded the difference once car was assessed (understandable). Then you lodge the claim with RentalCover. Lodging claim very easy just have to upload documents and give brief description of damage. Took appr...ox. 24hrs to receive email from Rental Cover.com that claim approved and money being transferred to bank account. I made sure all information that was asked for was provided including damage photos, rental car contracts, assessments etc, which I guess is where a hold up could be in a claim process if not all provided. Going away again in a few weeks and rebooking through this company. Fantastic experience.
Great experience and value!
On comparison of insurance products between the RV rental company and Rental Cover, I found Rental Cover's product significantly better value. The coverage was better priced at about the third of the price for an equivalent RV rental company's product and it was a relatively easy process to set up.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, there was damage to the windscreen during our trip. On return to the rental company, we were invoiced for the damage which was deducted from our bond. I lodged a claim with Rental Cover a day later and received payme...nt from Rental Cover about a week later which was much faster than my bond refund. Rental Cover requested documents during the claim process but it was not onerous. They had to clarify some information after the lodgment, however, the whole process was relatively quick and simple. This is the second time I have used Rental Cover, the first was for car hire but there was no claim involved the first time. Based on my recent experience, I would recommend Rental Cover for your vehicle rental insurance requirements if you are comfortable dealing over the internet and emails.
Really bad service, waiting around 10 months to get my refund and still didn’t get !
They always say easy refund, A third party hit my car and the insurance price that wasn’t my fault but it is taking more than 10 months to get my refund .

We lodged a claim and still had to pay for the damage. We were found by the car rental company 100 percent guiltless of the accident.
Rentalcover have said this our problem and to let then know in several months if the rental company did not pay us back.
Dodgy and Expensive
costs almost 2.5 x more than AU Premium Rental Car Insurances (i.e. Avis charges 37 AUD for zero excess)
Not easy to contact or even cancel, no direct line in AU, and they don't reply to the emails

I was unfortunate enough to break a wing mirror reversing out of a parking spot. I put in the claim with rentalcover and was paid in full within 48 hours. Impressive!
The only thing I would say is that you must ensure you have all the necessary paperwork and I did have to chase for the final invoice for the repairs from the rental company.
Get the claim report completed, take your own photos of the damage, keep the rental agreement and all should run smoothly.
I never had response for my enquiries. I did not have to claim any accident, but simple admin queries after the purchase have never been answered (never got an email reply and they dont have any chat or phone number in the website). I imagine i would have a huge headache if i need to undertake any claiming. About half of price offered by the rental companies, but no guarantees i would have the service provided if needed.
Easy comms and instant claim processing
First time taking out a policy with these guys. Was very cheap. Ended up blowing a tyre on a hire car and the whole claim was processed and in my bank account with 48 hours. Was genuinely shocked at the speed and level of service offered.

Took out a policy in August 2019 to cover a vehicle rental as I was concerned about the number of exemptions in the hire company's rental agreement. I felt reassured that rentalcover.com's policy had very few exemptions.
Unfortunately we were involved in life-threatening accident which led to the car being written off. Rentalcover.com's policy covered us up to $100,000 so we were initially relieved we had purchased additional insurance and their policy clearly covered our claim.
This relief was short-lived. Rentalcover's communication was a...bsolutely appalling. They took weeks to reply to emails. There was no contact number and they refused to provide one. They refused to speak directly with the hire company regarding the claim. They showed zero compassion or empathy. After 4 months they refused to pay the claim then proceeded to ignore us when the hire company started pursuing legal action against us. They essentially left us to fend for ourselves against the hire company because this wasn't a simple $500 excess claim. I eventually complained to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) who agreed that Rentalcover.com were responsible in full for the claim and also awarded us $2000 in non-financial losses. Even then it took over a month and multiple threats from the rental companies lawyers for them to pay even though they are bound by AFCA's determination to settle the claim. Do not trust this business, please use a reputable insurer!
Fast easy claim process
Fast response to my first ever claim and was paid in full within a week. All contact was very friendly and I was thankful it was an easy process. I would definitely recommend.
Good value for money
In my view these guys offer a very good alternative to the more expensive rental car insurance offering, unfortunately we were involved in a car accident with a driver who wouldn't accept fault for their dangerous and careless driving. As a result of this, our claim and our dealings with the rental car company became very drawn out and untidy, and the rental car company wouldn't settle our claim with us until they had recovered the funds from the rouge 3rd party driver. Unfortunately this meant that we found ourselves in a position where we c...ouldn't process our claim with RentalCover.com until the agreement was settled with the rental car company! Once it got to 12 months, I got pretty upset and contacted RentalCover.com about the issue and they agreed to settle my claim and pay me 100% of the ~ $4k excess we had to pay to the rental car company. As explained above, this 12 month delay was more about the issue with the 3rd party driver not taking responsibility for their actions, rather than an issue with RentalCover.com, and the fact that after 12 months RentalCover.com agreed to step in and pay our excess, even though the dispute with the 3rd party driver and the rental car company continues even now was great! I would definitely use and recommend RentalCover.com insurance to others, however I wouldn't want to be in that situation of being in this position again, and would ask RentalCover.com to look at addressing this liability on behalf of future insures.

Simple, cheap insurance that protects you, from what could only be described as overpriced repair costs, for extremely minor damage to rental vehicles.
Claim process could use some minor tweaking, but process only took a couple of days once I had all the paperwork. Have added it on a couple of rentals, but this was the first time I have made a claim.
Good value for money and excellent after sales service.
My claim was processed with ease and flawless even through the COVID19 shut down. They kept in contact throughout the claim whilst waiting for the car rental company to provide documents. This was the 1st time I bought this policy but will definitely purchase future insurance from rental.com.

I thought the policy was decent value for money was a much more inclusive policy with a higher monetary coverage then rental car agencies. No hidden clauses and very fast professional processing and payout on my claim.
Warning : cancellation fees !!!!
They charge cancellation fees whereas it is stated in the sell agreement that they don't. They say that they do that because of the covid19 but it is just a theft. They have lost a client and they will loose their reputation. What a shame.

Honest company and highly recommended
I had a minor accident with a rental car. The rental company felt so dishonest, charging every fee imaginable and the repair costs were not realistic. If I had paid 50% more than Rental Cover to insure with them, they would have found some way to avoid covering me in full. Rental Cover paid everything, quickly and in total.

I also suggest that you persist with filling in their forms and provide all the information requested, My experience proves to me that there are good people on the other end, and it pays to be thorough.... Hope this helps....
