Fantastic Handling of Claim
I would never have expected to have to make a claim, but when someone smashed into my hire car the service from RentalCover was really fantastic. Online process was straightforward. They followed up to make sure I submitted all documentation. The claim was paid in full within two days after I had. They delivered what they promised, and more in terms of service. I honestly couldn't ask for better in such a stressful situation.
No support. There is no phone contact number. When I send an email to RentalCover, I received a reply almost immediately but it looks like that I was talking with a machine instead of a human being. The money was taken out from my credit card almost immediately when I buy a policy but when I cancelled my policy and want my money back I have no one to talk to.

Insurance was not valid at the car rental in Malta. No Support what so ever from Rentalcover.com. i did not get my money back. Would not recommend this to anyone.
Peace of mind!
We hired a car in New Zealand which we unfortunately scratched - claim was approved next day after claiming and money in back within 3 days - I'm always suspect of insurance companies but now think differently.
Excellent Service by Rentalcover.com
I was very impressed with the speed at which my car damage claim was processed by Rentalcover.com. A claim was submitted on Sunday and it was processed and approved on the following Monday. Reimbursement of my claim was processed almost immediately after my submission of bank details. Highly recommend for a peaceful mind when renting a car for your vacation.
Only insurance you need
Had a minor accident, other than having to gather up a lot of information ourselves from the chosen rental car company, the process was easy and the communication was effective.
I discovered RentalCover and have used taken out cover many times these past 2 yrs. Last trip was first time claim and within 5 hrs of submitting online it was approve with payment in my bank 48hrs later.
Hassle free & Prompt
On making a small claim. It was handled quickly and professional. Everything well automated. Couldn't believe how quick the money was in our bank. We would definitely use them again.

Claim approved, simple and fast.
I had an all-inclusive policy to cover my rental car. Had a puncture, paid a machanic to replace the tyre, then on returning the car the rental agency wanted to replace it again (because the brand of tyre wasn't the same..) so was charged by them as well. RentalCover refunded these expenses, within days. It was a pretty automated process, very simple and easy, barely took any time. This is really good, simple, all-inclusive cover that actually pays when you need it. 5 stars!
No third party damage excess coverage when u r at fault
Rentalcover are cheap because they don't cover the third party damage excess. For example, you make a silly driving error in your rental car and run into a Ferrari causing $20K damage to the Ferrari (plus damage to your rental car). Typically, the rental car's most basic insurance covers third party damage, but has an excess of (say) $2500. That means the rental car company pays for $17.5K of damage, but asks you to pay the excess of $2500. If you take out Rentalcover insurance, they will not reimburse you for that $2500 excess. They do not cover third party damage! They do not disclose this on their 'quote' pages. As well, they are very difficult to contact. No phone numbers or email - just a chat service.
Many many ticks and just a couple bricks
This is a genuine assessment of my experience. I have only provided 4 star rating for Rental Cover however it should be 5 stars for actual policy coverage and payment, but I would only provide less than 3 stars for my experience in Rental Cover not listening and/or acting on problems, problems which were not of my making. I implemented my policy with Rental Cover for overseas car hire (UK). Unfortunately, whilst driving in UK a large bird took off from side of road and smashed the grille of my hire car. I paid the excess, the damage was less th...an the excess and I received a refund from the hire car company and then I claimed the difference from Rental Cover. It would be unfair to Rental Cover to publicly provide details of the problems I experienced in the claim process as those problems were unusual and hopefully one-offs, so the only comments that I will make to Rental Cover is to listen to your clients when they are conveying information to you about your account procedures, that, in my case went horribly wrong, through no fault of mine. Granted the situation was corrected after nearly 9 days of Rental Cover frustratingly ignoring what was so obviously wrong. In saying that, it is obvious that Rental Cover processes thousands of policies and many many claims and as such their staff rely on their computer programs, but Rental Cover still should have processes in place that raises alarm bells, which the problems I experienced should have immediately done so. In a final assessment (1) Did my Rental Cover policy perform and cover the excess as advertised - YES - (2) Would I, or do I, intend to take out another policy with Rental Cover when hiring a car in the future - YES.- (but I would hope/expect that Rental Cover implement better procedures for addressing problems and listening/responding to clients) (3) Would I recommend Rental Cover to friends - YES - (subject to comments as to better procedures and listening/responding to clients.) So many, many ticks and just a couple of bricks

Will not help you when you need it!!
Do not use this service, it's a fraud! they only cover minor damages up to a few hundred bucks. We had an accident and they refuse to cover the full amount (5500 euro). After long time of chasing them, they replied to me that usually there is a limited insurance offered by the rental company, and since i didnt have it, they won't cover more then 2200 euro of damage. What they actually say is that their insurance covers only minor damages, but in case of an accident, it wont help you. I wouldn't mind it if that was what they initially offer. The...problem is that on their website they publish their coverage is up to $100,000, so you are fooled to think that all is covered and you can be worry free. Save yourself the stress and use the rental company's insurance.
ambiguous insurance addition at booking.com
just booked a rental car for mexico and saw the full insurance option that seemed to be included in the total price of rental, so booked the car, and discovered 3 days later i have been charged an extra 100aud for 4 days cover. thought it was direct through Budget car rental. not so.. have since cancelled the extra cover and will do it directly at the counter.. no hassles , no mucking around with claims and receipts and unprofessional third party insurance companies, also most travel insurance cover most damages to rental cars anyway, why have 2 forms of insurance. a complete junk insurance setup. don't bother wouldn't recommend this scenario to anyone
Automated service with very impersonal non user friendly service.
For the simplest of claims they kept sending automated emails asking for information that had been provided if someone had taken the time to look at it. Aim to tire you with their process so you would give up.
Happy with Rental Cover
When renting a car in the US I damaged a tire when driving through a road construction site, and had to purchase a replacement. When I returned from overseas I put in a claim for the tire. Once I provided the required documentation I received reimbursement for the tire. The whole process was handled promptly and efficiently. I would use Rental Cover again and recommend them.
Beware - these guys are total scammers!
You pay for Full Protection then when you get a scratch on the car and are charged 400 Euro by the crooked car company, you go to claim through Rental Cover and they say no, you've got to claim it through your Bank. So why do they charge a premium? Complete scammers and probably in cahoots with the dodgy car rental companies. Be very very careful!

SCAM. Waste of time and money.
We have been trying to get our money back for a small scratch on a wheel hub that Avis charged us. We had RentalCover insurance, and thought it would all be ok. Not so. We made our first attempt to claim when we returned from our trip in June 2019. RentalCover just tell you to supply documentation, which we've done, and then make a claim through your bank. When your bank finally rejects the claim, you then try to contact RentalCover, but you can't. And so the endless cycle begins. It's been 4 months and counting, and we still cannot get a respo...nse from RentalCover about our claim. We just get automated responses to send documentation, and then when we do, we are directed to make a claim via our bank. Do yourself a huge favour, and get extra insurance directly from whichever car rental company you use direct. RentalCover is a scam, nothing more.
Very Efficient. Claim approved within 24 hrs and paid the next day, Would definitely use again.
The claim process was very easy, I would much rather use Rentalcover than use the insurance that the car hire companies try and get you to by

Questions & Answers
Why does payment go through a “bank”?
I'm guessing that as the RentalCover insurance is between you and RentalCover then the insurance payout has to go to you and the only way would be through your bank. They don't have an "office" where you could pickup cash.
The process is that because RentalCover are not linked to the car hire company, you must pay for the car hire company's excess first. You then make your claim by sending the bank statement proving payment (along with the rental company's invoice, hiring agreement, and details of accident, etc.) to RentalCover to make a claim. If they approve your claim, they then pay the money back into your bank account. As it is all online, there is no way to get cash and I liked that it went straight back into the bank account.
Am I covered for insurance if I take insurance with rentalcover.com for pick up of car in Amsterdam and driving to Germany and returning to Amsterdam.
