Ritual

No longer worth it – I"ve used Ritual for years and it was great. Convenient and you got rewards that meant you could get a decent free meal or coffees here and there. Apparently they changed all this in 2021 so you no longer accumulate points/rewards for all venues. So while I order $5 coffees at the same place each workday I get nothing to show for it. Might try HeyYou. Disappointing. And i have to pay a service fee too. Still convenient ordering beforehand so my coffee is ready when I get there.

Don't bother – They didn't send my order to the restaurant, so when I arrived they had no idea about it. When I told the restauranr staff that I'd used Ritual they explained that it's a terrible, buggy app that's always causing problems for them. When I wrote to ritual to complain, they took 20 days to get back to me and blamed the restaurant. But the restaurant wasn't the one who told me the order was ready because they didn't even know about the order, it was Ritual and they refuse to take responsibility.

If I could give it 0 I would – Wanted to order a delivery from a local Chinese restaurant, Lucky Magpies, at Waitara. The regular delivery company did not list the full menu so googled for another delivery company that serviced the restaurant. Came up with a site called Ritual Food under orderfood.google.com/. Placed an order and waited. No delivery. Called the restaurant, some confusion as to whether Ritual Food operated there! After another call was eventually advised the order had been picked up. It never turned up at my place. My credit card was charged both by Google and by Ritual Food. There was no contact number for either ritual food or orderfood.google to make further inquiries. Looking at the ritual food site showed it was a company that only accepted orders for pick up – yet the orderfood.google site clearly showed delivery options. I’m down $52 and food.

Moral: Never deal with Ritual Food (Ritual.co) or orderfood.google.com.

Postscript: Sometime after posting this I was heading out for some shopping. Backing up the driveway I noticed a plastic bag on the top of the gatepost. It contained the missing dinner from the previous night. So the restaurant had received and processed the order which is good. It was just the delivery that failed. Never in the many years of receiving deliveries has an order ever been left at the top of the driveway out of site of the front door! All other deliveries have had the courtesy to come to the front door and knock/ring before leaving the order. Just confirms my view of the incompetency of Ritual Food.
