Where can a replacement chain for my rpp720g

My advice ?. Do yourself a favour and spend your money on a different product. A new chain would simply be fouled-off at regular intervals by the terribly basic guide mechanism inside the head.

I have a Ryobi 18V One+ Pole Pruner which will only run when the head is in the 9 o'clock position.

Anyone else come across this problem? Also cannot get the casing apart at the trigger end as the section along the pole will no separate.

The issue is not what oil to use..the issue is the terrible design of the chain adjusting/retention mechanism. It is awful

I use the Ryobi oil that Bunnings sells in black plastic bottles that hold about 1 litre.

Hi I have a 720 on the weekend I was using it and was working fine I put it down and the went to use it again and it had stopped working. Pulled the trigger assembly apart and all look ok. Is there a fuse or has anyone experienced this issue ?

Laurie This has happened to me 4 or 5 times over the years, and every time the I have found that the extension cord(s) have slightly come apart somewhere, resulting in loss of electric power to the unit. If this is not the case with your problem, ring the Ryobi agency or consult whoever sold you the pruner.

Hi Carmel. I found this video: external link  About 30 seconds into the video, you'll see which way the chain is installed. Look closely at the chain links. If you need a new chain, take the old one to a Bunnings store and they'll help you with the purchase of a new one. Alternatively, you could always have the old chain re-sharpened at a store where chainsaws are sold and serviced. Typical price is about $10 to have them re-sharpened.

If you need a new 'O' ring, try Bunnings for a new one. It's not easy to buy a single 'O' ring though, you might have to purchase a packet of different sized 'O' rings. Either that or you could fashion a replacement using a tap washer (one made of fibre). Simply cut it to size.

You could also try ringing or emailing Ryobi for a replacement manual.

The oil you need is Bar & Chain oil suitable for chainsaws. It doesn't really matter which brand you buy. Again, Bunnings will be able to help.

Hope this helps
