Samsung CLX-3175 Series

short life – seemed to be great, we used all the features though only occasional usage. Then it started to ghost onto the next page on multiple page document, and then streak colour yellow randomly across some pages. Samsung Australia referred me to their authorised repairer who refused to repair printers. A shame to discard an expensive machine with a full compliment of consumables refill cartridges. I have bought another brand.
Great while it lasted! – This printer worked really well until it died. Only on my second set of original toner cartridges and it all went sour. Firstly horizontal banding, once I fixed that up soon after very bad vertical banding. Now I have two brand new cart's and a printer I cant do anything with.Lasted about 18 months. Small footprint, looks good Broke down after 18 months, toner is worth more than printer, US websites just over 1/2 Aussie price for consumables, so Samsung Australia seems to be gouging users.
Much better than an ink printer, – Very happy with this laser printer, now 8 months old and has never missed a beat, easy to use, good speed, good print quality, all in all a very good product. I have paid for the unit already just on the ink savings alone from my very, very expensive to run top end Epson. Would have given 5 stars if it was truly photographic quality although still good, would definitely buy again, Have only experienced 1 paper jam in hundreds of pages printed, was easily fixed in 2 mins. Running costs, functions very efficiently, purchase price for what you get.
Terrible – Negative. I waited for a long time for someone to bring out a printer that fulfilled all my feature desires, without being the size of a fridge or costing my first born child. This is what led me to buy the Samsung CLX-3175FN. We got on well for a short while, but the relationship soon soured. Unfortunately I'm now seeking a new printer. Comprehensive set of features (color print, flat-bed scan, fax, copy, network attached, laser). Relatively small size and reasonable price considering what it offers. When it's working it's quite good. Acceptable print speeds, and reasonably easy to use. Unreliable piece of junk. FREQUENT paper jams. Intermittently detects that various doors are open when they're not. And now nothing prints on the left-most 2" of the page.
