Samsung SL-C430W

Replaced My inkjet Printer for a Samsung Colour Laser Printer with USB and Wi fi – I decided to replace My [expensive 5 years ago] Lexmark Inkjet printer/scanner/copier as the cost of ink cartridges is just too high, for the number of pages printed. I don't do a lot of printing, mainly airline tickets and instruction manuals that are only online [which means most of them]. I spent $160 in 2015 for 2 x colour and 2 x black genuine Lexmark ink cartridges. You cannot refill late model inkjet cartridges as they have a chip in the cartridge that keeps telling the printer its empty. [even when its been refilled]. Firstly, I looked at reviews of all the inkjet and laser printers advertised that weekend at major Department stores. Then after many many hours of reading reviews of different brands of colour laser printers and finding some [not many] that actually got good reviews of the actual printing itself. I didn't actually want to spend more than was necessary so the 5 in one, and 4 in one models which did too many things [and would have been too difficult for me to learn to use] were taken off My list of Colour Laser Printers. It eventually came down to two Colour Laser printers that were Printers only. [These had been recommended by many people,] and although this Samsung is a NEW model, the previous models had excellent reputations also. The "other" printer I looked at was twice as heavy as this one, plus it used 1,300 watts of power when printing, compared to under 300 watts for this Samsung. It also came with a USB cable which is VERY unusual. [Most inexpensive printers have on the Box - No USB cable is supplied] this didn't really worry me as I did have a spare cable, and at the moment, with my old inkjet printer I just plug into whichever computer I want to print from, as I have 3 computers. Now as computers have progressed over the years, My knowledge of how computer programs work has declined over the years, lol but somehow I did manage to connect all 3 computers to the printer with Wi Fi, [one at a time of course] so the USB cable was not needed after all. You should get around 700 pages in black print and about the same in colour depending of course in how much toner is used on each page. When the 4 separate Cartridges are eventually replaced, [individually] which is still costly, there is another extra 200 pages of ink/toner in each of them. That is an extra 800 pages..
Printing in black text is very easy and I do use the ECO ink/toner saving option, and it prints perfectly. I haven't printed much in colour, but I did print some photos, small ones to see how they come out, and I just needed to adjust the colour on the photos in the computer, and they came out very good, as I was led to believe that colour laser printers are made for office work and not for printing photos, lol but I prefer to have photos printed at the large department stores. I don't know what a large photo taken at 12MB or larger would look like when printed on this printer. [as yet] and I probably won't try, but I know it can print out a great many Operators and Owners manuals very cheaply.
So, I have nothing but praise for this Samsung Laser colour Printer, model SL-C430W and if I can connect it to a computer [or 3] and get it to work, [in the one day, lol ], anyone can do it. A Disc came with the printer, but I found its much easier to download the printer driver from the samsung website.. and its nearly as easy as 1-2-3-4 . You can also download from mobile phones etc wireless but I haven't progressed to that technology as yet... lol The total cost was well under $200 and it was delivered to My door in a country town in 3 days.
5 out of 5 Highly Recommended -- If You find a great Product - tell everyone about it --

Still going strong. I have printed many pages lately, most in colour, with no problems. You just need to double check You are printing in Portrait or landscape... then no problems... I have found that I can replace the black cartridge for about $35 for a non genuine one... but I still have many pages of ink left... This is one great COLOUR LASER Printer with Wi Fi.. and cordless connection to other computers and Cameras & phones etc.. It also doesn't use a lot of power so more recommendations... 5 out or 5 Lee Bugbuyer

June 2018, My Samsung colour laser printer is still going strong. I have used about 2/3rds of the black cartridge and very little of the other colours as I usually print in grey, in saver mode, or black. I am very happy with this printer purchase and would recommend it to anyone. The new cartridges are around $65 each. So it is much cheaper than using most inkjet printers... especially Lexmark. I bought a new computer, and the computer paired to the Printer... wirelessly.. I haven't actually tried to print from My phone or My camera yet. Lee BUGBUYER
