Sansai Wi-Fi Galaxy Light Projector QL-1909
VerifiedMPN: QL-19091 review
Over priced and ordinary…… – I purchased this from Bunnings who goes through Harris Technologies to order these lights. The first thing that became clear when turning this light on was how small the lighted area on the ceiling looked. It would had looked fantastic if it covered a area larger than only around 100cm. The second thing was the instructions to connect it to wifi. Page 5 of the instruction booklet showed a photo the app screen and all the devices and sockets and it seemed to highlight a socket to select however the photograph is so tiny I can barely see it even when using a lighted magnifying glass! What they should had done was drawn a visible arrow on this photo to clearly show what to press. Thirdly trying dozens of times to connect the light to their app and wifi and failing each try and every time when trying to connect i had to re type lengthy wifi password which was annoying. It said to make sure I’m running 2.4ghz which I know I am as I have multiple devices that run only on 2.4ghz and they are running fine through my wifi. No customer support number on the box, so I looked up the phone number on the internet. The girl who answered was friendly and apologetic, but seemed clueless about technology and made no attempt to help me get the light connected to my wifi, instead she merely insisted that I take the time to try and chase up a refund. After 5hrs I finally managed to connect it to my phone via bluetooth which was explained on the bottom of page 6 in the instructions. (They should had mentioned this before page 5.) After getting it going the nebula is still around 1 meter in diameter on my ceiling, the colors are mostly red, green and blue combinations and no in between colors such as orange, yellow, etc.. without the RGB colors showing through. It looks much different to the photo on the cover of the box. The laser stars are around 2meters diameter on my ceiling and are green in color and will not change color. (What type of stars are actually bright green in color?) The stars almost appear like a grid and even more so when the brightness is turned down. I like the way the nebula moves, but I think it could be bigger. It would be good to see them bring out a convex clear glass cover that could go over the light section as a accessory so that it magnifies it so that the nebula is bigger and covers more of the ceiling. Another thing is that it would be better on a metal stand with holding pins on both sides of the unit (much like a spotlight or fan) this way it could be directed and adjusted much better to direct the nebula where you want it to go as the direction adjustment on it is rather limited. I am yet to get Alexa so at the moment I cant comment about how it works with Alexa. For the hefty price of this light and with todays technology advancements I expected much better than this. Rather ordinary.
