I would like to commend Ethel in the Lighting section. She managed to follow through my order with help and advice, despite being under a great deal of pressure with customers queueing and the phone ringing.

External lights are not really external lights. Beware – I recently visited Schots to purchase external lighting for my house renovation. I took my plans with me and went through our requirements with the staff who were helpful. We purchased $2900 worth of external lights. service is appalling. I was told it was my bad luck as I should have read the specifications and that I cannot return due to change of mind. Are these people for real. it is sad with the amount of money I have spent in that shop to be treated so badly. I am now out of pocket $2900 and have to buy more lights. I will be lodging this with consumer affairs. disgusting customer service. I am happy to report, that thanks to Product Review, Schots called me and agreed to refund the money if I returned the lights in their original packaging, which I did. they have since put up a sign at the outdoor lights section informing the customers of the IP rating. I am just happy that I got the money back so thank you.

Products not fit for purpose – Bought doors locks that don’t fit standard door jams. They refused to accept a return despite no warnings or instructions advising the product was not fit for purpose.

from some government department (satire). Yesterday I spent several thousand dollars at Schots. NAmeless, a manager, has cost me 3 -4 hours of interior designer hourly fees to fix up their mistakes. It's a tale of faulty invoices, hideous customer service and quite literally 4 hours of lost time I have to pay the interior designer for. I'm still counting lost hours - the drama isn't over yet, with the latest invoices still faulty (their problem) and my goods no ordered (they won't until every little thing is correct).

So I hear you reply - "yes, but you're getting the Schots VIP price". To which I now reply - I spent an awful lot less money with small businesses here in melbourne, and received fabulous customer service, follow up on stock items, follow up on delivery changes and several small discounts/reduced delivery fees where there were unexpected hiccups. The VIP discount didn't deliver the experience of my dreams, rather an ongoing hassle. When Schots have been made aware of their mistakes - their attitude is that they will not help us in any way whatsoever, which is in stark contrast to their smaller competitors. Buyer beware!

Absolutely love my new bath tub! It's the third time I've installed a claw foot tub however this time I got a smaller one and initially I was concerned it would feel too small however it's actually my favourite out of all my tubs, I actually like that it's not as long as I can relax better and not slide forward when trying to relax. It looks beautiful too!

We had a specific fireplace opening to match - with the dimensions in hand, We found Ethel at Schots to be a great help - her knowledge, friendliness and efficiency meant we had our order placed in less than 15 minutes…. Highly recommend finding Ethel for any of your fireplace needs

Schots staff were very helpful and I’m very happy with my Chesterfield sofa bed. The delivery staff, Indian fellows, did an excellent job of getting the couch up a narrow stairway.

pick them up which was made so easy by the friendly men who helped me, by carrying the doors to the van. We had coffee on 2 occasions; really good coffee served by the most kind man who looked after a bag we had left there by mistake and picked up later. Then, onto the bathroom section where we were given all the help and time we needed. We still weren’t sure about what to do so I went back today and after, all the questions were answered we bought a bath. Then back to Hardware again, where I was taken by the good humoured help I received. I left smiling as the staff gathered singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to a staff member. The place has a warm inviting atmosphere where staff are genuinely ready to help.
