Sea-Doo GTR 230
MPN: GTR2301 review
Sea-Doo supercharged models have known idle vibration problem they refuse to remedy – I purchased a Sea-Doo GTR230 20 months ago. The performance and handling of the ski is great, but it developed an intermittent bad vibration at idle. I took it back to the dealer for a service and to see if they could fix the idle vibration. At first, they wouldn’t believe me until I glued a mobile phone to the storage compartment lid and recorded the vibrations. Since then, they have had a couple of goes at fixing the problem and then had a BRP technician try to fix the problem. In the end they said they couldn’t fix it and it was a “design feature” of the supercharged engine because it produces such high power from a small engine. I have contacted two other dealers who advised that it is a common problem with the supercharged models, and there is no fix for it. The manufacturer BRP refuses to communicate and just refers me back to the dealer who has told me there’s nothing they can do. Be wary buying a new supercharged Sea-Doo as the backup service is almost no existent.
