A simple leak in out roof was fixed quickly, but way too expensive. $1000 for 1.5 hours work (which was done correctly). The plumber did quote us and we could (ie should) have said "no", but it was all framed as a big job and the ceiling was leaking, so we accepted. In hindsight I could've done it mysefl and any other plumber for a thrid of the price.
My experience with the onsite side of the business was not great, the communication needed improvement and initially put me off to the point where I did not accept the job/quote. did not listen to my background at all to fully understand the situation, or look for/suggest alternate ways I could approach the problem to keep my own costs down and move forward. ie spend money diagnosing an issue, replace the unit fully, or various other options. eg no use spending $700 to test for a gas leak if the unit is faulty and another $xx thousand dollars is needed for a new unit I subsequently called Aquamax/Rheem and they gave me a suggestion to do, to narrow down the issue and make sure it was the unit, before engaging them. This was great! and exactly what Service Today could have done, but didn't. On a positive note, Brian from the Customer Care Management team called me post job and we had a great discussion about how the visit went, what is learnt from it and any takeaways. This side of things is excellent, for service based companies to understand how their service is in reality.
Far too expensive. The rep was a pleasant young fells,but $2000 to diga bit of brick and repair a leaking pipe,rediculous. I finally got it done by a local plumber for $300,no problem. So,I was down $49 call out for a quote,that nobody would accept. I asked for a quote for a new toilet,$1745,my plumber quoted $700 to $800,and if you accept the quote,a fee of $143 for some total care stuff,is added to your bill. Just greed. Show details

The booking was for between 12noon and 4pm. They turned up right at 12. Checked out the job, went to get the parts and was able to use a repair kit to fix the toilet at the lowest possible cost. wanted the internal parts of my current toilet replaced knowing the toilet would be difficult to replace. I agreed and booked a time for him to do the work. A different plumber was sent instead.
1. The plumber dropped a part of my toilet. It was an accident. He glued it back together like a jigzaw puzzle. It looked terrible and unsatisfactory. I refused to be satisfied with this arrangenent. See the photo - would you be happy with this?
2, Poor customer service - The biggest reason I would not recommend services today is when there is a problem and I called the office, a Manager refused to speak to me to resolve the situation. The Manager kept indicating she would only speak to the plumber. I called the office 3 times. The reception staff on each occassion were nice and said they would escalate to a manager. Ist time - Manager wouldn't take the call, 2nd time, I was told the manager would speak to the plumber, 3rd time the Manager spoke briefly and hung up on me. I feel this was unsatifactory. In the end the toilet was replaced with a one I didn't choose and didn't match my bathroom. I was charged for the new toilet. A expensive and distressing experience. There is also deep scratches in my nonslip vinyl flooring where he was working.
Update. I have not been contacted to resolve the situation and it has been more than a week.
I would not recommend or use this company again.
I have been contacted by Service a couple of times about this review, but no resolution yet. It is 1 month since the service.
Clicked on the plumber closest to me on map. States up-front quotes- needed a leaky tap fixed. Plumber attended, didn’t have vertical shower tap stock- only side by side. Cost $50 call out. Total cost $650 and “cold” reads upside down. Taps going to the left and right. Disappointing service.

He gave me a quote of about $1400 to replace a simple toilet. This plumber was more a sales person, trying to get more money from me, a senior citizen. He is exactly like how you see them on Current affairs. Can't look you in the eyes. He didn't put my toilet back the way it was. Please explain to me exactly what the $428 covered. How do you justify that amount for a tap and a small piece of pipe and only max 15 minutes. See attached photo. Shortly after this incident on Monday morning I emailed the company with Photos. quick repair. The Ugly. = A new Hot Water service was required. The plumber suggested that a Continuous Flow unit would be better for our needs and would be cheaper to run. Suggested that the Continuous Flow system would save in Gas expense. As it turns out this was a fabricated lie. Re.ce plumbers advised that the unit is more expensive and uses 4 times more gas. The first quotation provided was over $4600. When I got up off the floor, I explained I didn't know where I was going to quickly get that amount, the quote was quickly droped to over $4000, but I would also need an 8 inch copper piper replaced for over $1090. I said we'll have to think about that. I then rang a local plumber, and he replaced our gas water heater for a total of $1865. Parts and labor. Buyer beware when engaging Service Today. Have since been made aware that ACA has featured Service Today under the banner of "Chasing Jason" In my honest opinion this company is not to be trusted.

I agreed. Next thing he says he is some sort of business person, the tradie will be coming in the afternoon with a ladder and can have a look at the hot water system , and convinced me to sign in for a membership. Anyway, the two young guys turned up in the afternoon. One electrician changed “ out dated things “, which I later realised didn’t need to be changed, and charged me hundreds of dollars. The other guy had no idea what’s happening but he was meant to climb on the roof and have a look at the hot water system but his ladder was not high enough and he wasn’t going to “ risk his life “. What a joke ! When I confronted them about the poor service and frustration they caused me, instead of being apologetic, they were rude and left .. still no hot water after all of that . I ended up speaking to their manager on Monday ( still no hot water) and told them I didn’t want their “help” any longer. I called the Australian Hot Water instead. An efficient young man called [Name Removed], who fixed the( minor)problem in minutes . No drama at all and only few hundred dollars as oppose to changing the whole hot water system costing thousands. So yeah, Service(not) Today No, you can’t ! And shame on you!

Follow-up · The conditions they tried to impose were no bad posts, in any media, taking down of any posts, all for a very small hush fee of $100. They simply didn't tidy up all, plaster dust and brick dust just left behind. No putting down drop sheets first, like other tradesmen would do. No request for a vac, as that would've been provided. They were prompt, but I did not need or request that. For this job it could've been in a week or 2's time.

gave me a quote for different options to fix the problems. He was very happy to answer all my questions and explain each outcome. I was very happy with the service that Gary provided he was on time and very polite and very knowledgeable, I felt very confident tat my problems would be fixed well. Phil arrived the following day at 7am as stated and fixed all of my issues and was gone by 3pm, he just needs to come back in a couple of days to concrete once the ground has settled. He also was very polite he worked very hard at getting the job done on the day. He cleaned up the area and removed the rubbish. I was very happy with the job he has done and I am very confident that he will come back and finish the concrete in a timely manner. I have used Service today many times now and have always been happy with the service and happy with each and every job that I have had done. After he took the money he said he will come back and won't charge extra, 2 days later we call them so he can come and run the camera, he hangs up and block our number, then we call with different number and soon we told them the address they block our second mobile number and won't talk to us, we cut the concrete for nothing, we searched another plumber for the job and the blockage was on the front side of the house,not where [Name Removed] ask us to cut the concrete. Now we making complaints with master plumbers so they can investigate

shut off my gas, and said it had to be reported and couldn’t be turned back on. I was quoted $3,265 for a replacement and asked for a $1,300 deposit immediately.
I got a second opinion from another licensed gas plumber who confirmed there was no leak at all.
Overall, this felt misleading, overpriced, and very high-pressure. I would not recommend.

they refunded the call‑out fee on the basis that the quote proceeded as a job. Be very careful and get other quotes before using this company.
**Edit: After raising concerns about pricing, ServiceToday contacted me and worked toward a partial resolution. They installed an additional downlight at no cost, and the electrician (Gareth) was professional and helpful. I appreciate that the company listened and took steps to address the issue. The matter ended positively, but I will still be getting multiple quotes for any future trade work.

them to cancel the clean. It was an off shore call centre. They told him we need to pay a call out fee of $150 (for nothing happening, a guy just looking inside the unit). My partner said no, we won't be doing that, it advertises $0 on your website for call out fee. We haven't signed anything, and $150 is nearly what it cost to get it fixed.
Fast forward to today, I get a call from their head office, not a call centre this time, the lady on the phone is insisting I must pay the call out fee. She was very rude and unprofessional and cutting me off on the phone. I tried to get about 3 sentences out to tell her that a guy came and eyeballed it, that no work was done, that nothing was signed, and that their "call out fee" was what I paid to actually have it fixed. She started rudely saying I was interrupting her, when in reality she just wouldn't let me tell her the full story. I had already warned her at this point if she kept interrupting me I was just going to hang up. So I hang up. But now I have severe anxiety because I'm actually an Autistic person with trauma.
The man who came out here seemed super judgmental and also gave me anxiety. Should have known because when my dog sniffed him (miniature dachshund) she went absolutely ballistic and has never done that. In comparison with the man who actually fixed my aircon, he didn't make small talk, was wonderful, tapped my phone at the end of the service and that was it.
Find a small business, do not hire service today, $832 for a clean is a joke.

I asked for someone to potentially repair my system. The least that person could have done was to check what is wrong with the system and whether it can be fixed using a spare part..
Entire focus of the visit (which costed by $50 callout fee) was to sell an overpriced replacement.. I could have easily worked that out myself that the entire system can be replaced.. I asked for a repair service, instead I got nothing in return.

We did choose some services we wanted done immediately which is why we used them and I would recommend the only reason to use this company and pay the exorbitant prices is if you need immediate works. However, not once did we ever receive so much as an sms to let us know when any service people would be arriving. Sometimes bookings that had been verbally confirmed never went ahead - while we'd taken time off and prepared for arrival - then calling the company only to find they'd rebooked the person in for another job (presumably a subsequently higher paying job). As for works - spent over half an hour cleaning up after plumbers, who used toilets without asking, who at time of leaving we discovered they'd forgotten to do part of the job then told me they can't do it becuase their drill battery was dead. Plumber drilled hole through laundry into bedroom! The only receipt ever given was the thermal printout from the eftpos machine. Now that has to be fixed!!! Stay away.

The technician was nice enough but they charged me $1400 for simple install of two ceiling fans ( I provided the ceiling fans!). Didn't patch the hole they left in both rooms. Very much feel like [Content Removed]. Avoid at all costs.
Charged me $553.71 to isolate ONE faulty front light that had no wall switch. Job took about 45 minutes, zero parts used. They used code 2-154-1067 “Disconnect Additional Power/Light Supply” – total rip-off. Normal price in Brisbane/Ipswich 2025 is $180–$350. Avoid Service Today / Alltrades Contracting Services QLD like the plague.

Do not bother calling these guys… what a rip off. Just to change a switch and a small stair light I got a quote for $450+ they just want to lock you as you have to pay $49 and if it’s urgent then you are stuck. Luckily I got the work done on the same day and paid $150.
