system that we quote $9050 for supply and install( after the discount). i was mislead into signing the contract that the salesperson said the unit itself cost over $5000 and $4000 for installation. when i checked the same model of the unit, it online pricing is bewteen$3300 and $3500 (free delivery). when i refused to go ahead with this contract, the sale person it is the same brand but different unit hence it is cheaper (it is put in writing via text message) and they can make next day installation just for me. when i look into this deeper, i found out the installation and material is around $1500-$2000, not as quoted $4000. when i email the manager [Name Removed], he said it is the overhead and markup the company that have to markup. when i called around local plumbing for a quote on same unit and installation it is around $5500- $6000. so, i lead to believe it is sale tactic the company use to mislead normal person in signing expensive contract and use multiple business website to generate lead to they business. i have paid $5900 so far and now going to disputing this matter. currently going through CBS and ACCC to lodge a complaint.

retails for roughly $250–$300 at standard supply stores. When I emailed management to request a simple, itemized breakdown of the labor vs. materials (which consumers are entitled to ask for), they refused, stating they only offer 'fixed pricing' and wouldn't break down the individual tasks.
In my opinion, charging an upfront fee only to provide what feels like a vastly inflated, un-itemized quote is a very poor business practice. I ended up purchasing the pump myself and getting it installed for a fraction of the price. My advice: always look up the cost of the parts they are quoting you for, and don't feel pressured to proceed just because you've already paid the call-out fee.

The booking was for between 12noon and 4pm. They turned up right at 12. Checked out the job, went to get the parts and was able to use a repair kit to fix the toilet at the lowest possible cost. wanted the internal parts of my current toilet replaced knowing the toilet would be difficult to replace. I agreed and booked a time for him to do the work. A different plumber was sent instead.
1. The plumber dropped a part of my toilet. It was an accident. He glued it back together like a jigzaw puzzle. It looked terrible and unsatisfactory. I refused to be satisfied with this arrangenent. See the photo - would you be happy with this?
2, Poor customer service - The biggest reason I would not recommend services today is when there is a problem and I called the office, a Manager refused to speak to me to resolve the situation. The Manager kept indicating she would only speak to the plumber. I called the office 3 times. The reception staff on each occassion were nice and said they would escalate to a manager. Ist time - Manager wouldn't take the call, 2nd time, I was told the manager would speak to the plumber, 3rd time the Manager spoke briefly and hung up on me. I feel this was unsatifactory. In the end the toilet was replaced with a one I didn't choose and didn't match my bathroom. I was charged for the new toilet. A expensive and distressing experience. There is also deep scratches in my nonslip vinyl flooring where he was working.
Update. I have not been contacted to resolve the situation and it has been more than a week.
I would not recommend or use this company again.

Clicked on the plumber closest to me on map. States up-front quotes- needed a leaky tap fixed. Plumber attended, didn’t have vertical shower tap stock- only side by side. Cost $50 call out. Total cost $650 and “cold” reads upside down. Taps going to the left and right. Disappointing service.

He gave me a quote of about $1400 to replace a simple toilet. This plumber was more a sales person, trying to get more money from me, a senior citizen. He is exactly like how you see them on Current affairs. Can't look you in the eyes. He didn't put my toilet back the way it was. Please explain to me exactly what the $428 covered. quick repair. The Ugly. = A new Hot Water service was required. The plumber suggested that a Continuous Flow unit would be better for our needs and would be cheaper to run. Suggested that the Continuous Flow system would save in Gas expense. As it turns out this was a fabricated lie. Re.ce plumbers advised that the unit is more expensive and uses 4 times more gas. The first quotation provided was over $4600. When I got up off the floor, I explained I didn't know where I was going to quickly get that amount, the quote was quickly droped to over $4000, but I would also need an 8 inch copper piper replaced for over $1090. I said we'll have to think about that. I then rang a local plumber, and he replaced our gas water heater for a total of $1865. Parts and labor. Buyer beware when engaging Service Today. Have since been made aware that ACA has featured Service Today under the banner of "Chasing Jason" In my honest opinion this company is not to be trusted.

call out. Therefore this call out could not be classed as an emergency call out. Stated the call out was $720.02 Fault Investigation up to 20 minutes $210.03 Investigate HVAC System 45 minutes $515.16 Call out Fee $49.00 Must admit I said OK just fix the problem as that morning was zero degrees. It was the ducted heating system so he simply turned off the Switch.
I then I asked for a quotation to replace the Mitsubishi reverse cycle ducted heating OUTSIDE UNIT & CEILING UNITS ONLY. I was offered a call out fee to see if it could be repaired at another cost of $300. As the unit was 15 years old I declined.
Service Today's quotation was $24,557.48 just to replace the outside and ceiling units. No ducts, no controller, no vents and no zones, just the units. I live in a single storey home and not a commercial building.
Reality suddenly set in and I was annoyed that I had been conned out of $720.02 in the first place. I thought enough was enough so I went onto High Pages to find another quote.
[Name Removed] from Profresh Airconditioning Pty Ltd came about 2 hours after I listed on High Pages. [Name Removed] looked at the job at hand and Quoted $10,500 to do the exact same job as Service Today. The best service I have ever had in my 70 odd years of life. Installed the next day by wonderful young men who did a fabulous job. I cannot thank Profresh enough for their immediate response to my call for help. I will ask for their assistance when I will have sufficient funds to install a split system in the other part of the house for winter 2026.
I highly recommend Profresh Airconditioning Pty Ltd for great workmanship, service and pricing.
Now this was a saving of $14,857.78 That is an immense price difference. The job was completed today and the ducted heating is working beautifully.
Follow-up · The ducted heating system stopped working so I called Service Today - they wanted, from memory, $750 call out fee before looking at the heating system. So I didn't go ahead with them. I found someone else who replaced the entire system for $10,000 Happy with their work

Follow-up · The conditions they tried to impose were no bad posts, in any media, taking down of any posts, all for a very small hush fee of $100. They simply didn't tidy up all, plaster dust and brick dust just left behind. No putting down drop sheets first, like other tradesmen would do. No request for a vac, as that would've been provided. They were prompt, but I did not need or request that. For this job it could've been in a week or 2's time.

Please be extremely careful with Service Today. If you’re in a vulnerable or urgent situation (no hot water, pressure, etc.), get multiple quotes immediately and don’t let the “we shifted jobs for you” line rush you into signing. Our story
We have just had a gas hot water unit replaced at approximately 250% of an average quote.
When I contacted ServiceToday on Friday regarding the failed gas hot water system, I was told the next available actual job day would be Tuesday, but they would start with giving a quote, same day. A few hours later, the technician arrived saying other jobs had been “shifted” and he could help me straight away. Under pressure — no hot water for tenants, Friday afternoon, and feeling completely out of my depth — I trusted him and signed the quote for $4.6k.
What I didn’t realise until later that day the same Rinnai 26L continuous flow system is routinely installed for $1,600–$2,500 in Brisbane area. I felt emotionally manipulated and taken advantage of. As a stay-at-home mum recently managing our investment property, I relied entirely on their professionalism and integrity. Instead, I was hit with a quote / bill more than double the normal price.
The charity branding on their vans and website gave me a false sense of trust and security. I now feel that was used deliberately to lower people’s defences.
Stay away!

did not listen to my background at all to fully understand the situation, or look for/suggest alternate ways I could approach the problem to keep my own costs down and move forward. ie spend money diagnosing an issue, replace the unit fully, or various other options. eg no use spending $700 to test for a gas leak if the unit is faulty and another $xx thousand dollars is needed for a new unit I subsequently called Aquamax/Rheem and they gave me a suggestion to do, to narrow down the issue and make sure it was the unit, before engaging them. This was great! and exactly what Service Today could have done, but didn't. On a positive note, Brian from the Customer Care Management team called me post job and we had a great discussion about how the visit went, what is learnt from it and any takeaways. This side of things is excellent, for service based companies to understand how their service is in reality.

shut off my gas, and said it had to be reported and couldn’t be turned back on. I was quoted $3,265 for a replacement and asked for a $1,300 deposit immediately.
I got a second opinion from another licensed gas plumber who confirmed there was no leak at all.
Overall, this felt misleading, overpriced, and very high-pressure. I would not recommend.

they refunded the call‑out fee on the basis that the quote proceeded as a job. Be very careful and get other quotes before using this company.
**Edit: After raising concerns about pricing, ServiceToday contacted me and worked toward a partial resolution. They installed an additional downlight at no cost, and the electrician (Gareth) was professional and helpful. I appreciate that the company listened and took steps to address the issue. The matter ended positively, but I will still be getting multiple quotes for any future trade work.

Fast forward to today, I get a call from their head office, not a call centre this time, the lady on the phone is insisting I must pay the call out fee. She was very rude and unprofessional and cutting me off on the phone. I tried to get about 3 sentences out to tell her that a guy came and eyeballed it, that no work was done, that nothing was signed, and that their "call out fee" was what I paid to actually have it fixed. She started rudely saying I was interrupting her, when in reality she just wouldn't let me tell her the full story. I had already warned her at this point if she kept interrupting me I was just going to hang up. So I hang up. But now I have severe anxiety because I'm actually an Autistic person with trauma.
The man who came out here seemed super judgmental and also gave me anxiety. Should have known because when my dog sniffed him (miniature dachshund) she went absolutely ballistic and has never done that. In comparison with the man who actually fixed my aircon, he didn't make small talk, was wonderful, tapped my phone at the end of the service and that was it.
Find a small business, do not hire service today, $832 for a clean is a joke.
