Ive have been a supporter of sonos for many years now, but when I called, wanting support to hook my old sonos speakers to a new wifi router, I absolutely got NO support. I even ask for the superviser. The outcome was that the sonos speacker is not compatiable with the new router and said they couldnt do anything about it unless I change my… Read more

provider. Easy for them to say when it cost you to cancel contracts to suit there speakers. I found they were very flat, no knowledment of there own product because an hour later I found you could work the speakers directly though the same provider but through the mobile app, not through the pc app. Shows how much they know. After this sonos speacker gives out, Im not showing any future support and will not recommend there products every again!!

The app is trash. It just doesn’t work. I have around 20 Sonos products and I’m constantly battling to try to get them to work reliably. I’d avoid at all costs. Shame, because when it works it’s awesome.

An absolute pile of steaming waste... what started off as a great system has devolved into a slow clunky, unresponsive app that is hell-bent on invading all levels of privacy, they are obsessed with controlling you in their own ecosystem... this has… Read more

been ongoing for a couple of years now... consider carefully before buying anything from this company… It would not surprise me if speakers became glorified paper weights in due time

Follow-up  · Every single feature is clunky... to turn the volume down on the speaker you actually send a request from the app over the Internet to their servers and then back to the speaker... they tried to monetize every single aspect of your experience

Absolute rubbish app, same as their Windows app. The speakers are great but I just CBF with the software anymore. Will never buy Sonos again as long as I live!

Please, can I give the APP less 50!? – Just plain terrible. When I first started buying Sonos 20+ years ago they were great, and I have about 25 speakers throughout my house. Today they constantly ask you to get rid of old speakers and upgrade. The APP is a 'shocker'. Works sometimes, and then it doesn't. They have been given ample time at SONOS to fix this but the Internet is full of peoples constant ongoing frustrations. I'm afraid I would say JUST AVOID..

Avoid!!! – Horrible!!! Impossible to set up speakers, shockingly bad app and once you eventually get it running the sound drops out frequently. Lift your game Sonos.

Do better – I have a house full of Sonos devices and been a avid supporter/user since the beginning. I’m so disappointed with the functionality of the app since the so called “ new and improved” app last year. Sack your movers and shakers in your company (they do not deserve to be there) and go back to the basics. IT WAS WORKING FINE, I struggle every day now to use basic functions on the app. DO BETTER!

App does not work – Absolute rubbish ...basically works some of the time. After they have updated their app its just got worse and now does not work at all, some people are finding. Speaker quality is good but not much use if you cannot use them. This issue has been for over 1 year and it seems the company does not really care....plus they delete old speakers from… Read more

their system which means you have to use them on seperate apps....again bad planning for future proof...better to use Bose or B&O as a better option.

Sonos continues its shameful behaviour – Since my review a week ago, things are still totally unacceptable with my products in the context of playing my music. I have the Apple Music service aligned to Sonos, and after juggling between phone and lap top I was able to listen to music, but not without trouble. Then final insult it says I have to re-authorise my Apple Music. This was done… Read more

recently so why?!! Anyway put in password which I know is correct, and just go around in a loop. Got into Apple iTunes Store, used same password and was able to get in to my account. Actually played music from my Apple library through the Sonos speaker!!! When is Sonos going to fix their issues with this terrible update. Stand up and be counted you silent Sonos people!!!

Sonos nightmare system – I find it extremely frustrating that a large company like Sonos can produce such poor quality software. I’m regretting buying my Beam because it regularly loses connection and then takes me days to sort out. At least i know not to base my sound system on Sonos devices.

Sonos New App - A Total Nightmare – My Recommendation: DO NOT PURCHASE any Sonos products until the recently launched "New App", riddled with faults as it is, has been "fixed" and is operational. CURRENTLY IT IS NOT! I am a longtime user and supporter of Sonos. As such, it disappoints me in the extreme to write this sad, sad commentary. Over many years I have enjoyed almost… Read more

flawless access to my extensive music library using the “old” app. Since the launch of the so called “much improved app”, I have no access whatsoever. My Sonos system is not working at all. I have wasted long hours on the phone to Sonos Tech Help …. and for what? No result! No help! On these occasions, but only after wasted hours (submitting diagnostics, allowing remote access to both iMac and iPad, trying this, trying that), was I told that, really, “there’s nothing we at Tech Support can do until the “fixes to the new app have be completed”. Well, howdy do!! Sonos withdrew an existing working app and launched a replacement app which Sonos knew to be incomplete and having inherent faults! That warrants more than just a “howdy do”. What can I say? A total s…show!! Incompetence and disregard to customers and supporters. Until the new app is fully functional, why won’t Sonos reinstate the old app? At least, then, I and others like me would be able to enjoy our music libraries. What about it, Sonos? And, before I close, what about offering some form of compensation to your many loyal customers whom you have disregarded and disadvantaged?

It will fail! – I am joining the long list of people who hate my sonos system. My system will not connect to the internet. Fine one day no connection the next. Hours and hours on the phone to sonos,, absolutely no help at all. The most inept technical support I have ever experienced. Quick look at the forums and reviews and I've realised I have the crappiest stereo ever and it's just not repairable. DO NOT BUY A SONOS!

Incompatible with free Spotify – When playing the free Spotify through the Sonos app it cuts out when an ad comes on and has to be manually restarted. I play almost all my music from free Spotify so this incompatibility renders the Sonos app useless.

The Sonos app on Windows is Tragic – The Sonos app on Windows is very poor. It's hard to use. Couner-intuitive. Search function is useless and frustrating. It's important that Sonos customers are able to use their Sonos systems on BOTH an iOS and Windows devices. Sonos is clearly putting way more effort into the iOS app - although it's very poorly designed as well. Because the Sonos… Read more

apps are so bad - users will use Apple Music or Spotify to play music, then switch to the Sonos app to control speakers and volume. Really bad experience. And it's been this way for years. ALSO - see image - every time I have to "update" the Sonos Controller app on Windows, the instaall throws the error you see here. But doing another "install" works. It's just poor software engineering.
