Good Value – THE GOOD: This set is great value for money if you are looking for a medium sized screen. Picture quality is great. Remote is clearly marked and reasonably easy to navigate. Standby power consumption is minute, half a watt from memory. THE NOT SO GOOD: Sound quality is barely "OK", because it lacks even a simplistic graphic equaliser, so it isn't possible to boost treble, which is a requirement for those of us with any form of hearing loss. (a very significant percentage of the population) It is also NOT able to provide any sound output to an external device, such as bluetooth hearing aids/ headphones, while at the same time having sound from the internal speakers. This is a necessary feature for any audience with a mix of hearing impaired and not hearing impaired. It lacks an RF OUT port (Antenna out) for looping from antenna to TV to PVR.
Summary: (3.5*) It deserves more than 3 stars, but not four stars due to the lack of features on the audio side. With an ageing population, many of whom have or will suffer hearing loss, a lot more thought should have gone into more flexibility/control over sound outputs and frequency band control (graphic equaliser) If the sound issues were sorted out, this would be a five star product.

Sony Re-invents The Valve TV – Remember Valve TV's where you had to wait for them to warm up before you got a picture. Well I think they were faster than this TV. When you turn it on it flashes up " SONY" then produces a rectangular rainbow. But wait some more before before you can see ghosts of the App page. Wait some more before you can make your choice, by now you have missed the first minute of your live program.
It's a crying shame that it just doesn't start up where you last had it. Changing Terrestrial TV channels is painfully slow too and sometimes it shows the number you selected and just stays where it is. Probably programmed at Sony by a Donkey.
Anyway the picture is good, slight shadowing in the corners. The sound is pretty good for a TV of this size.
