Great value to have Digital Radio, CD and IPOD docking all in one unit that sounds great too – We bought the Sony CMT-FX350i for our 4yr old daughter as a replacement of an 8yr old expensive Mini Hifi system that's now overheating and turning itself off frequently. Our daughter will not sleep at night without the radio on. We had the 8yr old (very expensive at the time) Mini Hifi system usually used in the craft room in her room and all was working well throughout the night until the last couple of months where it would some times turn itself off during the night. I finally worked out the old unit was getting hot and turning itself off so it didn't blow up. Quite often our daughter would wake up screaming waking us up in the process because the radio had gone off.

After too many of these night terror episodes it was time to find a replacement unit. There are so many choices with Mini's ranging from quite cheap to quite expensive. The biggest influencing factor when choosing the Sony CMT-FX350i was the digital tuner was for only a few more dollars than a heap of other units that all sounded just as good as each other when playing CD's. To go digital was a big jump with a lot of other units.

The ipod docking station is an added feature that may get used latter on down the track as currently no one in the house has an ipod or iphone. Yes we may be living in the dark ages a bit but it's all about what we need not what we want in our house.

The Sony CMT-FX350i is small and compact and now takes up half the room on top of my daughters chest of draws leaving more room for all little trinkets that girls like to collect.

The system was very quick and easy to set up and start using straight away. Our daughter got the hang of using the remote quickly and easily. We have had no more incidences of her waking up screaming because the radio turned off. It stays on for approximately 10-12 hours at a time and doesn't get warm at all.

We are very happy with the unit and the price we paid at the Good Guys Gepps Cross($80 less than the RRP on Sony's website) Great sound for a small unit, Easy to set up and use immediately, Compact size, Not overpriced for a digital tuner
