Hi, the colour on Sony KDL40CX520 is gone funny, it has a green tinge to it and is not as clear as it used to be. I’m assuming something have failed within the tv, can anyone comment on what may have failed and if it’s worth having it repaired? Thanks

you need to look up the error codes with Sony themselves, sounds like the TV has become faulty and it became faulty for a number of reasons - one common reason why a electrical devices becomes faulty is not due to bad manufacturing, people leave it in the power supply, a black out occurs and the device then fails due to an electrical surge that happens. This type of fault happens a bit, to bypass this from happening, having a UPS battery and a surge protector power board will ultimately protect your electrical appliances.

If you are still in warranty for your TV set then get it fixed as if its a manufacturing fault your entitled - legally your entitled to have your appliance fixed even if its outside of warranty if its classed by consumer affairs of its reasonable acceptable life span.

I cannot tell you what your error is with the TV as we haven't experienced any problems with it

I am having problem with my lcd it is showing negative/fade picture and ost/menue color is changed from black to blue how can i fix it???

you need to contact Sony about it - I haven't experienced that problem first would check cables - if it isn't HDMI and your using the component input, you may have the chords incorrectly put in - these are colour coded, but your stating the OST/Menu has changed colour and if you haven't changed some setting on the TV then I would think it may be a hardware problem with the TV. Many people have a TV connected to a plug that isn't combined with a power surge protecting board and surges do happen that can damage these boards - so I recommend contacting Sony and investing in a power surge board.

If the TV is showing a picture with one or two colours missing while you are watching TV using the TV tuner then it isn't the cables. Unless there's some crazy option hidden in the menus for changing the menu colour then it is probably a TV failure and you'll need to take it in for repair or replacement.

Sorry I cant help you - i think you need to format the drive to the format the manual says, but also I believe there may be some size limits, I personally don't own the tv myself, however I did set it up and used it many times. I am not sure that it has pvr function but it does have media playback.

With media playback you need to have the the flash drive or hard drive to a type of format, I believe its fat32, its been a while. The types if media format like xvid and so on will be listed in the manual and don't believe it plays every media format. By inserting the flash/hdd you go to the menu and choose usb and go into media and there you will see the files however if you don't see the files it will mean the hdd/flash drive isn't formatted to the tv specifications - types of format is fat32/ntfs and the best way to format is on a pc or mac and then you put the files on the hdd/flash drive - hope that's helpful.
