This is the second time we’ve had Spanline build patio roofs at different homes. We are very happy with the result and the whole process was easy.
Have just had an alfresco extension done by spanline and would happily recommend them for their workmanship,Matt has done an excellent job and his attention to detail was great to see. Definitely get the team in to discuss any extension plans you have.
Big disappointment with a patio from Spanline. I thought I was paying top dollar for a decent job, but it turned out to be a poorly built patio with lots of water leaking. It took Spanline 9 months to finally stop insisting that the problem was caused by the water travelling upward, and they only patched up one issue. The rest was abandoned, perhaps because they are beyond repair.
We recently had a Spanline pergola installed to our home in Lithgow NSW from the start to the end the service was excellent the two gentlemen who installed the pergola did a fantastic job and nothing was a problem and answered any questions that I had job well done Spanline Bathurst & Orange
Follow-up · Installing the pergola was the best thing we have done. It has extended our area for entertaining and looks great does not affect the lighting at all and is well built highly recommend

Old cottage transformed – Spanline did a glass room renovation plus two rooms onto an existing cottage and absolutely transformed the space. All workmanship was excellent. Finished rooms are bright and breezy and look amazing.Design is contempory but suits style of cottage.

we will enjoy our new space across all seasons. At the moment the room keeps the living area nice and warm without using heating so I am looking forward to enjoying the breeze flowing through in spring and Summer. I would recommend Spanline to anyone who wants a job well done, on time and as planned. Thank you – Colleen T

also incredibly tidy throughout the entire process. They made sure to keep the area clean, which I greatly appreciated. The whole experience was smooth and professional, and the end result is simply beautiful. I highly recommend Matt & the Mid Coast team for their excellent service from start to finish.
Thank you to Jason & the team at Spanline Coffs Harbour! – We recently had a first-storey awning installed by Jason and his team at Spanline Coffs Harbour. Our original area was small and the wooden deck had deteriorated. Jason came out and met with us and we talked through what we wanted to achieve with area. Jason gave us several patio design options to choose from as well as a variety of colours and… Read more · 1
materials for the flooring. Jason recommended the Spanline Double U roof sheet advising us it was low maintenance and had long spans so we wouldn't need as many posts. Once we'd agreed on design things moved pretty quickly. The builders were very professional and were really pleasant to deal with. They even roped off the build area to make sure our gardens and lawn areas were protected. When the finished they left the site clean and tidy. The build quality is top notch and the Double U roof and new decking blend perfectly like it has always been a part of our house. Jason and his team were great and very easy to deal with. We honestly could not be happier with our new outdoor area that we can now sit out on and enjoy the views. We highly recommend Spanline. - Shane Lambert
Do not trust Sumloe Pty Ltd Spanline – Sumloe Pty Ltd still have not fixed the defects and leaks of the Spanline Pergola they installed. It's been over 12 months.
Expert service with genuine care! – We used Spanline Mid Coast for a new outdoor awning. The experience with Matt and his team was absolutely faultless. I loooove my new outdoor space – I am absolutely in love with our new outdoor space designed and created by Spanline Mid North Coast. They handled everything from start to finish with ease and professionalism. After my initial quote was done, I had a change of mind and decided to make my new roof larger in length. job. After giving them the go ahead to do the job, and the materials arrived onsite, my roof was installed and the job completed in two days. They finalised all the council approval over my new deck and even took care of installing the new down lights when my electrician couldn’t finish the job. I am so thrilled with our new outdoor space. We practically live out there now. Going with Spanline Mid North Coast was the BEST decision I ever made.

Outdoor living area addition – Matt, Linda and the team were so easy to deal with. From our first discussions through to final installation it was a smooth, stress free process. The installation tradies worked in with our timeframe and left the job clean and tidy and worked around our two dogs which was no hassle to them. We are so happy with the finished product! I wouldn’t hesitate to use the team at Spanline Mid Coast for any future home additions! Show reply

We Love it – We have had a Spanline metal roof gable roof patio for about 19 years. we take care of it, clear it regularly and it still looks as good as they it was installed. Our visitors cant believe its that old. Were very Happy. Some foam infills deteriorated, we had them replaced 4 years ago. Show reply
Extremely overprices – We received 4 quotes on a patio extension off our backyard. 3 out of the 4 were around $11,000 - $11,500.00 mark but Spanline came out and quotes $18,000.00 - i spoke to [Name Removed] on the phone just to give her the feedback that Spanline wasnt being very competitive, i dont think it really fazed her too much, her response was 'this is why i… Read more
like to talk to both people at home, i didnt even realise you were home'. (i was inside working and looking after my 3 month old) regardless if i was there or not i read the quote and it was $7000 more expensive. They werent going to budge on price either, overall i think they arent very competitive and can get good quality elsewhere.
White ants invaded sunroom – Probably over a decade ago Spanline built a sunroom on to our house. My father who is no longer alive urged the builders to not allow any places for white ants to enter. When finished, the builders left about an inch gap between the existing brick wall of the house and the wall of the sunroom. Early one morning and some weeks after completion of… Read more
the project, a Spanline builder turns up and fills in the remaining gap with silicon, spanning several vertical metres. My father repeated that he did not want them to leave anywhere that white ants might enter. The builder assured him that white ants will not eat silicon. Famous last words! Fast forward to today and the white ants have utilized the silicon space to infiltrate the ceiling of the house and they have also entered the door frame of the sunroom and are threatening to enter the kitchen. As for termites not eating silicon, quite the contrary. They love the stuff and in fact ate their way through the centre of the silicon in order to get to the ceiling. A termite inspector walked around and told me the entre sunroom is a sitting duck, as numerous access points had been left for white ants to invade. A second big problem is the structure leaked, mainly around the guttering, but also seeps in under the aluminium walls at their base, even though the cement base is elevated above ground level.
Spanline Wagga/ Canberra -Very unhappy! – Signed Spanline contract above market price as no local builders were available at time. Was informed that delay would be 6 mths this ended up being 9 mths! Job described by Spanline representative as "easy, 2 days max!" This turned into nearly 3 weeks with gaps in between! A number of issues were identified with finished item requiring repair or… Read more
replacement. Spanline senior management aggressive and inflexible Site manager rectified issues that should not have occurred Advice- Ensure ALL contract and attachments thoroughly read prior to end of cooling off period. Another project was completed by local builder, cheaper, in time and build quality far exceeded that of Spanline.
Be warned – I contracted Spanline home additions to do an insulated patio structure on the Sunshine Coast. The structure had corrosion issues early on and the structure was different to what the salesman advised. The underside of the sheets were also scratched badly on the install. The box guttering also leaked. Upon a recent inspection of the roof there… Read more
is significant rust evident and all of the colour has gone from the topside of the insulated sheet. The beams are also rusting along all of their edges. The local franchise was no longer in existence so I contacted the head office and sent photos etc. They wrote back to me advising that the rust holes in the roof sheets were a workmanship issue and referred me back to the franchisee (who they knew was no longer there). I then rang them as it was clear it wasn't a workmanship issue and they advised "the roof sheets aren't our product nor are the roof screws and so we cannot offer any rectifcation or warranty on the product". I have a contract that has Spanline home additions all over it. The invoice is also is dated 11/2008 and has Spanline home additions all over it. Please be aware that if you contract Spanline to supply and install there is no assurance that they will be installing their product nor will they stand behind it when there are issues as has been my experience. You would expect a roofing product to last for at least 15 years otherwise everyone would be getting a new roof all the time. Their phone "on hold" message talks about Spanline products being "made to last" "15 year structural warranty" "unwavering commitment to integrity" etc.
I will be sure to edit this review if Spanline agree to some rectification of their supply and install but at this stage their advice is "we can't help you any further".
Beware! – We were told that all around doorway would be completed! It cost an extra 150 to complete! Threatened us with extra costs and interest f we didn't pay it. Finishing was poor and had yo get our painter to complete the finishings bit told by Spanline that we got everything we were entitled to. I now agree as we were silly enough to give them the… Read more

Terrible company that does not care about customer satisfaction and use incompetent contractors for their shoddy work – We have had this extension for around 4 years or so but spent the last year to two trying to get leaks repaired. Every time Spanline send the same useless contractor who squirts some silicone in the gap but it's clearly inadequate and with moderate to heavy rain our house leaks damaging our rug and water getting dangerously close to electrical outlets. Photos are from June - Oct 2021.
Given a real run around – Engaged Spanline for small room addition and paid $8K deposit after their Sales Rep advised he was "excited by the project" and all would be good. This company states they will organise all areas from design and getting DA approvals thru Council. No prob's! We then experienced the most frustrating time; their DA drawings for application were… Read more
slow to complete. The first application was rejected (we weren't told) and new one had to be submitted. Months passed and we complained several times by phone and email to the Franchise Owner of Spanline and their sales rep about not returning calls / replies to emails as to progress of the project. We then contacted local Council DA approval person who advised they also had similar problems in receiving responses from Spanline. The excuse given to the Council person by Spanline was that there had been 'staff changes.'
More months passed before Council approved the DA and it was sent to Spanline thru the regulatory govt portal. We contacted the Franchise Owner who claimed they had had had no advice NOR phone contact from Council (so why did Council officer mention the staff problems at Spanline?). The Franchise Owner also claimed he checked the government DA Approval portal each week. We then contacted Council again and learned that Spanline had been advised about 10 days previously. Back to Spanline again and their Admin Officer sent an email excuse that the approval "might have gone into their spam mail."
Subsequent contact with the Spanline Franchise Owner resulted in him telling us he didn't really want to do it as he wouldn't make enough money.... (What!!). When queried about the enthusiasm of his Sales Rep, he said he would not have taken the job on if he had seen it first. He also said the enthusiasm expressed by the Rep would have been because of the commission he received. So much for the reliability and integrity of this company.
We did not progress any further with the job. We had no faith in Spanline.
We were given a partial refund of our deposit but have lost some thousands of dollars. The refund did not include the Sales Rep fee; we were charged for it despite criticism of the Sales Rep by the Franchise owner! We expected that we would not be responsible for giving us false expectations.
We later lodged a complaint with the Customer Liaison person at Spanline Head Office; sympathies were expressed and we were told our complaint would be referred to a higher level. Interestingly, this person said that the company had little control over its franchisees and there was probably not a lot could be done. Unsurprisingly, No response was given by head office.
Spanline has a like page. Try and express a Dislike and you have fat chance.
