Specsavers Advance Elite Hearing Aid

Staff have ALWAYS been friendly and helpful, but that's where it ends....the Advance aids are very ordinary hearing amplifiers. And recently I have had to update my phone and now find the Advance hearing aids don't connect with the new phone !!! I use the aids for watching TV and that's about it. Noise filtering and crowd environments are a no go… Read more
for these aids. They were my first attempt at hearing aids.....I think I'd been better off not getting any at all
I’ve had these Specsavers elite hearing aids which I purchased from their Capalaba Park store for 5 years now . I found they are useless in any situation where people are chatting close by . They pic up the conversations around me rather than the person I’m close to and talking too . I’ve found they are basically a noise amplifier with poor… Read more
quality sound .ive had them adjusted multiple times but still find the quality of the aid software isn’t capable of tuning into the person I’m talking to . Besides this the Capalaba Park store is not up with good quality customer service and have a take it or leave it attitude . It’s badly managed which I feel is why staff appear unhappy and unwilling to show some effort to be keen to help customers requirements in both sides of the business ,but more particularly in the hearing aid side which proves a business with split areas doesn’t work . My advice is if you want hearing aids go to a dedicated hearing aid specialist ,not one that is mainly as the business name suggests . “ Specsavers “.And if you need hearing aid wax filters or domes Specsavers Capalaba don’t go out of their way to help . Staff training is obviously poor So to finish up after five years wearing Specsavers Elite brand don’t bother ,it’s just a sound amplifier not designed to cut out nearby noise . Just wanted to add ,Specsavers brand is locked to Specsavers hearing aid software and any other audiologist can’t adjust . My advice don’t get anything from Specsavers
I found the audiologist to be arrogant, not caring enough to deal with my acute hearing loss and to be uncooperative in returning the trial aids i had paid for. on returning the aids, they Specsavers wanted to charge me $49- to reinstate my old aid settings. i find the attitude of these staff to be not customer user friendly and advised I will not use Specsavers for glasses or audiology again. Could anyone tell me how many channels does the signia Elite silk C&G from Specsavers have
Great for magnification of sounds, but hopeless for the “Elite” features. I specifically purchased them to filter unwanted sounds during conversations in noisy environments. My previous 8 y/o hearing aids were superior. Very disappointed when I raised my concerns with the Specsaver audiologist, that she replied, “it is too late you cannot return them”. That was 105 days post purchase. Their “satisfaction” period only extends to 90 days. Beware! Show details
I saved $3000 on the same hearing aids as the big name brand with the Specsavers advance elite name and I could return them within 90 days of purchase for a full refund if I wasn't happy. I initially had 3 visits in the first month to get them tuned right , but 6 months down the track I can't live without them. I especially like that you can… Read more · 1

Average – I have a number of problems with my hearing aids from specsavers. Always difficulty in pairing to my iphone. quality of aids is average. Consider other options. Show details
Love the Advanced Elite Hearing Aids – I bought my Hearing Aids, Advanced Elite, from Specsavers Morley a month ago. I'm so happy with them, as well as the service I received during the testing, fitting, programming and check-up. I hadn't realised how much my hearing was reduced, until I started wearing them. Took a day or so to get the volume and direction right for different situations, but now all good and I don't even know I'm wearing them. Show details
Stop missing out! Get hearing aids if you need them – Hearing aids do not create miracles. At first I hated them but charged them each night with my phone and made myself wear them. Now I'm glad. I forget I've got them in. Cost for my level of hearing was $3,000 for rechargeable. Aug 24. (Make sure you pay extra $500 for this as batteries are too fiddly). Spec savers were terrific. I have no regrets… Read more
and hear a lot more in a crowd. Well done bankstown spec savers. I get my glasses there too. Lovely kind people, respectful to oldies.
A totally satisfying experience – First time visit, Keziah at Toowoomba was thoroughly professional and nice to deal with. She gave me Sonova top of the line, with the Government allowance factored in. Wow, these beat the hell out of the free government ones. I haven't heard this well for years, thanks Keziah. John. 1st time at SpecSavers rather than privately – Hearing aids are excellent. A bit confusing sometimes with phone and TV. I forgot to put on charger one night so had to wait for charge. Cannot stay overnight on a whim unless you take charger in case. Can’t call in any time - always need apt as no one at front can help. Show details
Definitely do not buy these – I was advised that these would suit my hearing needs. No way do they even come close. I cannot make out speech no matter what I try on the app, (which is also useless) and the background noise is shocking. I would not recommend them. I have now purchased a hearing amplifier, which is far better. Show details

Not worth it – I've had these "advance premium" hearing aids for two years. The first year, the recharger has had to be replaced. The second year I had trouble with the "filter", replaced the rubber tip which ended up lodged in my ear where I had to go to the emergency department to fix it up! I don't recommend buying hearing aids where you have to change filters & disposable rubber tips. Looking back the selling point for me was the bluetooth function. Show details
New Hearing Aid Experience – After having my ear test 2 weeks ago which was really thorough today I was fitted with my hearing aids. I would like to thank the audiology department at Noarlunga for the excellent outstanding service they provided. I am so very very pleased with my new devices. The service was brilliant throughout, all my questions and queries answered… Read more
everything explained in terms that I could understand they were so patient in letting me learn how to put devices correctly in my ears, and all aspects explained. I also have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks to sort out any problems if there are any and to adjust hearing aids if necessary. All carried out in a very friendly and professional way. Thank you. Sandra Kelly
Now happy customer – After initial reservations greeting used to some hiccups,I am very satisfied with my hearing aids and especially the back up service if needed. The team are first class & recommend Coffs Harbour Plaza Show details
Advance 72 RS Elite – My first pair of expensive hearing aids, I have played around with 6-8 cheap online models with mixed success, nothing I have tried even comes close to these, I have only had them a week so unsure on reliability but this week has been life changing I'm talking to people in the shops and making casual conversation , I havint done that in years.… Read more
Big shout out to Amanda at the Armadale store, I'm sure the key to the hearing aids success lies with the audiologist setting them up correctly. I'll give them 5 stars if they are still going in a couple of years.
Do not waste your money – Have suffered with these hearing aides for over three years. The units failed all the hype all great aides from Specsavers. They have been repaired 4 times and replacement units issued 4 times for new aides. Guess what they STILL don't work. They go through batteries like water from the tap. In most instances, the batteries lasted about 2 to 3… Read more
hours. In some cases less that an hour. Have got sick of going back to Specsavers to have them looked at an get recommended that new hearing test be done. I have had so many hearing test done, I could do them in my sleep These hearing g aides are the worst decision I have ever made. Specsavers are not really interested in helping. Think twice or ten times before committing to these hearing g aides
Dissatisfied – I have had them for 4 months, I am returning to Specsavers for the 4th time to have them replace the speaker. Not to mention the numerous appointments to have them adjusted. Expected a more Superior Hearing Aid for the money I paid. Show details
Excellent Service & Product – A big thank you to Bryan Soh - Audiologist Specsavers Belmont Forum WA. with recharger. I am extremely happy with them and the positive change they have made to my life. I find the hearing aids to be very comfortable and happily leave them in all day. The APP on my phone was set up at my fitting appointment and is very easy to use. With a tap of a button, I now feel confident to fully participate in social environments. Phone calls and music are streamed directly to my hearing aids, so I feel totally connected. I would highly recommend the service of Bryan Soh and the Advance Elite hearing aids. Elizabeth
VERY HAPPY WITH MY NEW ADVANCE ELITE HEARING AIDS – Got a new pair of Advance elite hearing Aids last month and am very happy with these. environments like restaurants and club rooms, whilst not perfect, is greatly improved and i can hear most of what people are saying - great!! The reduced cost compared to hearing aids I bought a few years ago is amazing and the old "not for profit" fat cats will have to review their strategy!
Waste of money complete rubbish – A real rip off wouldn’t recommend them and won’t buy a second lot Show details

Great technology – Had the Advance Elite Hearing Aid for a week now and I am very impressed with them. The app on my Samsung works perfectly to adjust the volume and balance if desired but the directional adjustment is the most amazing part of these Aids. I can narrow down the direction as required to block off side noise when talking in a noisy environment or… Read more
simply to watch TV with a distracting sound on the right and noise on the left - simply narrow down the direction to the front and those distractions are cut off. Brilliant. The charger is very simple to use also. Mellisa, the audiologist at Fountain Gate East is wonderful, she did a fantastic job setting them up for me and went out of her way to chase the discount available to those people dependant on the aged pension. My hearing loss is profound in my left ear so I have the combination of the Advance CROS in the left and the Advance Elite in the right so that sounds on my left are transmitted to the right. This works extremely well. I highly recommend the Advance Elite and Mellisa at Fountain Gate Specsavers.
Not what I expected disappointed – Had government subsidised hearing aids and was advised by audiologist that I needed more sophisticated hearing aids. Spoke to specsavers had hearing test and purchased Advance hearing aids. When received I noticed that the occlusion on the left side was very bad due to tiny vent hole. Back to specsavers adjustment made and advised to see how they… Read more
go. Back to specsavers and left the hearing aid with them to have the vent hole modified. Back to specsavers a week and a half later to pick up. All of this would not be to bad if I did not live in regional Victoria and have a three hour return trip. Also advised audiologist on each visit that the hearing aids when on automatic mode were fading in and out adjustments made but still the same and no explanation as to why and not solution offered. Very disappointed after paying $3500.00 for hearing aids that are not really any better than the basic government subsidised ones. Probably should have gone to a better brand and paid the extra. Could not recommend these aids or specsavers to anyone.
Seniors don't get the joke! – Specsavers staff are friendly. But i didn't like the idea of phone audio testing. I liked the tv ad even less. -~-~ Hawaii here we don't come. Low costs on hearing aids are good but dont insult seniors by hinting they have disposable income in an economic crisis. Show details
Average Hearing Aids let down by poor Hearing Remote Mobile App – Purchased the 'Advance' Hearing Aids from SpecSavers about 7 months ago. While the hearing aids themselves are average okay the Android phone 'Hearing Remote App' they use for fine adjustments of the hearing aids is useless as it only works 20% of the time, at best. The App regularly struggles to connect with the hearing aids even though the aids… Read more
connect okay with my Samsung Android phone via Bluetooth pairing, and works well with media playing on my phone, such as YouTube and Facebook. The App regularly disconnects from the aids when my phone goes into screen saver mode and then struggles to reconnect when I reactivate the mobile's screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the App on my phone dozens of times and while it might work initially for a couple of times, it soon ends up with connection problems again. It is just so frustrating with using the App that I have uninstalled it and just use the hearing aids without the ability to customise settings to suit the environment I am in. Unfortunately Specsavers do not offer any other Mobile App that can be used with their Hearing Aids.
A bit disappointed – Why is it that spec savers in south east of Brisbane only have one audiologist, that goes from store to store, who happens to be on holidays and I can’t get in to see him with my issue. I have to wait until he gets back. This is not good, if I’d known it would be so difficult, I would have gone somewhere else.
Great performance but reliability is questionable – Amazing experience for my first set of aids. Clarity was good although the audiologist had set the amplitude too high in the upper frequencies which caused a strange squeaking sound when listening to a car HiFi. Easily corrected but meant another 20k trip to the store. The right ear piece died after about 6 months, which the store cheerfully… Read more
replaced under warranty. The left piece followed after another 6 months with the same symptoms, total failure and unable to recharge. It is now out of warranty so I’m expecting a fight. Clearly they both had the same problem. There is about a 4 week waiting time for replacement which is annoying and spare parts such as the silicone buds are not available in all stores meaning another 20k journey.
Hearing Aids Spec Savers – I have been wearing the Advance Elite hearing aids I purchased from Spec Savers for a couple of months and am very happy with them. which is rebranded exclusively for Spec Savers. The Elite level is the highest level available and currently retails for $3,495 pair which is considerably less than the equivalent Hearing Australia prices. With rebates from health funds and the Government Hearing Program (for eligible concession holders), they may be purchased for under $1,000 pair and have a 4 year warranty.
I highly recommend Hanny, the audiologist I saw at Winthrop, WA (she's also at Fremantle). She was extremely professional and provided excellent expertise and service with a 1 hour fitting appointment and follow-up appointments a week after fitting and six weeks later.
