Best walker ever – Used this on my 6month old Staffordshire cross pit bull and she’s like a different dog, seriously the best training tool for walking dogs I’ve ever come across in 35 years of having had dogs. Highly recommend, worth every $$ Show details

Only lasted 3 months-fell apart – Flimsy lead attachment has worn through. Don't waste your money. Sales person at PetStock said this product was amazing. It is not. Dog hated wearing it. Caused grazing and bleeding. And then fell apart while walking. So dangerous Show details

not kelpie proof – after reading reviews elsewhere I decided to give this a try for my 8mth old kelpie. the result: when the dog pulls, it tightens on the chest. it might work for some, but not for my steamtrain. might try a nose halter next... Show details

Painful, Bleeding – I am extremely disappointed in this product. I bought it as a solution to pulling but I didn't realise it was cutting into my dogs armpits, and grazing, causing bleeding. I had used it for a few days and a friend noticed my dog's gait had changed to accommodate this new halter. When I got home and checked it, it seemed my dog was actually… Read more

accommodating the pain by changing his gait. I felt incredibly guilty for putting him through this. I emailed the company with photos of his wounds but they never got back to me. It's pretty clear that don't care that their products is causing harm. When I bought it I have it fitted in the shop so the product is supposed to be working.

Bought 4 years ago and haven't looked back – I have been using a sporn harness for years and it is still going strong. Nice to have a quality product that lasts. It also works, my Pug x Maltese used to pull and choke himself but now has goes for walks at a leisurely pace. Just be careful if you tie up your dog using this harness as it is fairly easy for a dog to slip out of it.

Unbelievably effective – I have a crazy cavoodle and have tried everything to stop him pulling. He's so strong I hated our walks, until now. I decided to buy the Sporn training halter because it is different. From the moment I put it on him I knew it was different in a good way. Of course he tried to pull but there was no power in it, I could walk without being yanked… Read more

over. When he did pull I just gently pulled back on the lead and he stopped. We both really enjoy our walks now. Thank God for a product that finally does what it says it will do.

Waste of money! – Purchased this for my 5mth old cavoodle who bunny hops, have tried various harnesses and no real improvement. This harness was no different to the others so I returned it.. Show details

Sporn no pull harness and head harness..don’t waste your money! – I was looking for a comfortable, effective product when I purchased a “ Sporn”, “Stop Pulling” harness for my Great Dane Cross. The sales staff in store said it was very effective, and they’d had none returned. The advertising on the actual package spruked that it “stops pulling, instantly.” Sadly, this couldn’t be any further from the truth.… Read more

The way it fits, it is quite abrasive under the legs and it has a weird, stretchy, flimsy lead attachment. Which, when you add a lead, is too long and detracts from the amount of control you have over the dog. It in no way discouraged my dog from pulling and was a complete fail for me. I persevered a few times with this harness but found my dog walked 100 times better on my old original Halti style head harness.(Purina Brand) To add insult to injury... when my old faithful Purina Halti broke, I gave Sporn the benefit of the doubt and purchased one of their ‘Head Control’ halters. (Silly me!) Another big thumbs down! It is incredibly easy for your dog to get out of this. (one throw of the head and off it comes!) It lacks the safety strap attachment to the collar that the Purina brand has and it has the same weird, flimsy, stretchy lead attachment as the harness. Overall..$80 plus dollars out of pocket over the two products and both useless! Went back to the store to try to exchange the more recently purchased head harness for another Purina branded one (product was clean, used once, as new in package) only to be told the satisfaction guarantee was only valid for two weeks. I wasn’t told this when I bought it. I’d had it just shy of 8 weeks. Apparently a credit/refund would be at the sales reps discretion and said rep would ring me. Over a week later... nothing! No more Sporn products for me!

Caused bleeding wounds on our Border Collie – The harnes was well fitted. Our 10 month old puppy was pulling so much he was bunny hopping when walking with other dogs and wanting to chase passing cars. This did not stop the pulling and caused friction injuries in both sides of his chest from the nylon material.

Sport halti dangerous – My german shepherd pulled herself backwards out of her Sporn head halti and attacked a small dog which later died. I then made the horrible choice to have to have her PTS, rather than have the ranger come and euthanase her. Two dogs are now dead because that Halti did not have a safety strap. A bad design fault which has left two families devastated.

Not suitable for rottweilers – This is my 3rd head collar for my 16mth rotti & she pulls backwards out of it every time we near a small dog. Luckily we added an extra 'safety clip' to her choker as a backup for when this happens but walking her is stressful for myself and and dog/owner we encounter. Halti (under chin control) was better for this breed.

Happy Owner, Happy Dog! Saved my arms – This harness is absolutely the best thing I could have possible bought for myself and my boy. I have a 35kg golden retriever who pulls until he chokes, spews and then pulls some more. We are working on training but being a young dumb puppy his attention span is limited. I bought this harness of eBay when I was at my whits end and immediately its… Read more

fixed the problem. He still pulls but only lightly and doesn't yank my arm out of the socket at every turn. It makes him much more manageable and walks are more pleasant for both of us.

Really Happy – I have a 35kg very strong and rambunctious GSP and this has been a godsend. I persisted with a body harness for a year as I was reluctant to get a halter, however once I got this my walks have been plain sailing. The dog does not seem to mind having it on nor me putting it on as he knows that it means we are about to go out for a walk. For… Read more

clarity, I got the Sporn Head Control Halter. It was a little difficult to put on initially but I got the hang of it after a couple of times and I am so glad I got it. It also is less obvious than some other halters, so people who don't know dogs don't freak out thinking the dog is wearing a mussel. Well worth the $.

A little skeptical initially. But pleasantly surprised – I required a harness for a dog that pulled. Unfortunately, as my dog has a relatively flat face, I could only get a body harness. The Sporn harness was recommended by the shop assistant, although I was a little skeptical initially as it didnt look like a harness that could reduce the dog pulling. However from the moment I used this, I was… Read more

pleasantly surprised. My dog no longer pulls hard (my arm doesn't feel like it's going to pull out of the socket). It's also taught him -over time- not to pull when walking, so I now use a normal collar when walking most days.

I would recommend this harness if you are needing one for a dog that can't wear a mouth/nose harness.

(contrary to the other review on here, I actually find this harness super easy to put on! Once you do it once or someone shows you it's easy.)

sporn V Halti – Sporn looks the part and is quality fittings but is extremely complicated to adjust and use.If your dog has a lot of flesh around the neck you just about choke it to stop the harness from coming off the snout and they can still back up and pull it over there head.I have 3 dogs and the other 2 have Halti brand harnesses and they are are breeze to… Read more

fit and they tighten around the muzzle if the dog pulls against or tries to back out of it,no neck choke.I will now only use halti and they are half the price.I hope this helps others to not get ripped off.
