Steel-Line Garage Doors RD11 Roller Door Opener

RD11 Steeling roller door motors – I have 2 RD11 motors installed February 2017 on 2 large roller doors. They had a 5 year warranty on the motor and 2 years on the electronics. Both doors have failed at around the 5 year mark. A technician physically inspected one of the doors and confirmed that the electronics have failed. He advised me that unfortunately no replacement electronics are available for the RD11 motor. Show details
Failed – My wife and I purchased a brand new home and moved in early November 2019. The double garage has a Steel-Line roller door with a RD11 Door Opener. worked OK for around the first 12 months. We only have one motor vehicle and were away for periods of up to 5 weeks. Even when we were home we would not usually go out more than 3-4 times per week. The door then stopped working so I reprogrammed it according the the provided Users Manual. It then worked for about 4-5 months. It then started progressively failing more frequently until it now does not work at all and Steel-Line want us to pay them around $600 to replaced the operator. We are not happy and Steel-Line have not yet come to replace it even though they replaced our neighbour's unit, which also failed, at no cost to them. I hope that they will do the right thing so that we don't have to proceed to litigation.
Steel-Line Faulty Product – Mine failed and was irreparable after less than 500 cycles of up and down. A faulty product that Steel-Line is aware of. I got nothing but a lecture about not complaining the wrong way in Tasmania. No recompense and no acknowledgement of a faulty product on the market. Absolutely reprehensible.
