Stihl AP 300 Battery Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have 2 of my AP 300 batteries that have a white powdery substance coming out of it. These batteries are less than a year old and are not hold a charge very long. What do you think is happening?
With not seeing the issue, but it sounds like your batteries are faulty and should be covered under warranty if their under 12 months old, take them back to where you bought them for replacement.
Purchased 300S battery have only charged it twice used in a BGA 86 blower the first 30 seconds and it registers 3 bar should it deplete that quick from full 4 bar full charge to 3 bar in 30 seconds ?
No. Mine lasts quite long to be honest, before the it moves down a bar. Sometimes the bar clicks back to 4 though when you “rest” it - I’ve noticed that.
For longer life of such lithium batteries, best to pop onto charger, back up to 100% (or at least 90%) every 90 days. That protects against slow self-discharge taking battery down to very low (<20%) state of charge (SOC). Leaving in low SOC is worst for battery life. Leaving AP300 in charger whenever not in use gave me >6 year life. At 6yrs from purchase, battery capacity ‘showed’ as 4-bar but only about 70% of lawn that used to be mowed could be done without recharging. So don’t go by bars, but work done.
Bad battery returned for replacement it is fine now holds 4 bar for 15 min or so
Yes exchange for replacement and just like you said works fine now got a bad battery
are ap 300 and ap 160 interchangeable?
