I am very happy with my Sunbeam can opener that I have had for many years now. I have found there is only one type of can it doesn't open but that's ok .Now I am older with weak & arthritic fingers I use it on all ring pull cans as well. Sometimes takes a bit of jiggling to get it to grip to start, but works ok. I love it. I found my pamphlet… Read more ·  1

with other things I bought, probably around 2000, but no docket. It is looking a bit yellow & tired looking, but still going!! I hope a new one will be as good should I have to buy a new one. Sorry, the only proof I have, is a pamphlet that came with it.

Have not been able to open a single can without great difficulty. Does not grip the can. Cannot risk placing a heavy liquid filled can in this opener. A mess risk. I will need to return it under warranty. Show details

Sunbeam Electric Can Opener – I have used electric can openers for years and, so, when my last one died after many years’ service, I saw this one in HarveyNorman and thought, great I’ll get another one. Well, talk about a disaster. It was and remains a useless can opener. It never opened a can without a fight. Yesterday was the end. It wouldn’t open a can of tuna and I had to… Read more

go next door to borrow my neighbour’s cheap manual opener. That was hard, but at least I got it opened. It has virtually sat unused in my pantry since I purchased it on 10/5/2022. I returned it this morning and Harvey Norman wouldn’t honour the warranty even though it was only 18 days over! Go figure! The salesman said he was sorry. I said I could see it was written all over his face! Deeply, deeply unhappy with Sunbeam extremely disappointed with”Hardly Normal”! Don’t ever ever buy this can opener - you’ll certainly regret it. A must have on the kitchen bench! Perfect! – Very happy with this product! I initially bought this can opener for my mother in-law who lives with us as she has arthritis. She found it very easy to use and I find myself using it often aswell. The knife sharpener feature on it is a handy extra feature too! Show details

What has happened to this product? – I had a Sunbeam Open All for many years - it was great. I bought a new one because the old one had yellowed and looked scruffy. I had to take the new one back because the release button was stuck, it wouldn’t open cans and a small piece of metal fell out. I bought a second new one from a different shop and the same thing happened! What’s gone… Read more

wrong? - this was a good product but something is not right with current manufacturing or design. Update: no response from Sunbeam.

Garbage engineering design and quality – What a shocker. A useless piece of junk. The cutting blade failed to pierce a standard tin as the knife was loose and pushed back out of the way. One of the worst products this manufacturing engineer has ever bought. Going back now for a refund.

Utterly useless – I'm arthritic and can't use a normal can opener any longer so thought I'd try this. It worked for half of the first can. No more Sunbeam for me ever and I'll do what I can to dissuade others.

Awesome product – I bought one a long while back and it was good value but it got wet with seawater (my fault). It made opening cans easy. I have just purchased another and hoping it will be the same. Show 2 replies

Rubbish product – My husband bought this opener for me because due to arthritis I have a battle using a manual opener, it worked for the first 5 to 6 times at opening a can, now it is useless as it will not grip the can, gone back to the old winding one . All I can say is THIS OPENER IS RUBBISH and please don't waste your money like my husband did

You bloody Rippa – CA2800 RIP After 12 yrs of opening all shapes an sizes, our OpenAll finally craked it. The little button that laid on top of the can broke about 5 yrs ago, with, it kept on going, for the price back then, it was very popular and Made in Australia at Campsie NSW  Show reply

unreliable – Worked well to start with. Then mine stopped gripping the cans properly after about 10 uses. There's something flimsy in the grip/blade design of this product. The motor still runs OK but its now useless for its function and I will have to dispose of it. Usually the Sunbeam products I've purchased have been good. Not this one unfortunately.

Doesn't even deserve one star. Absolute garbage – Purchased from Target about 6 months ago and used about ten times. Then failed to grip the can. Tried various cans without success. Due to the time that has elapsed we couldn't find the invoice so no opportunity to seek refund. It is now residing in the garbage bin. Pathetic product. Consumers are being treated very badly when shoddy rubbish like… Read more

this is being produced. Sunbeam used to be synonymous with quality. If this is the best they can do they can go to hell. Don't bother responding. Referral to your product department means absolutely nothing will be done to rid the market of this wretched product.

Great Device – We have used our Sunbeam CA2800 Openall can opener for several years and find it indispensable. No problems with use or its durability. Easy to store and to use on all manner of cans.

So far so good – I have arthritic fingers so my husband is my can opener. Bought my CA2800 for $3.00 at my local Lions Shed op shop (Sorry!!) and although it's only been used a few times, it is very easy and quick to use. I'm happy Jan.

Useless – This would have to be the most useless kitchen tool I've come across. Came to help my sick mother who purchased this opener to be only told she can't use it either. I had one 40 years ago that lasted me for years. Please go back to the original design of 40 years ago as it worked well.

Stay away from Sunbeam Electric Can Openers – I once had an electric can opener that lasted for years so I thought I would purchase one again now as arthritic hands and mature age means the manual can opener was getting just too hard .I thought I would stick with a big name brand and go for Sunbeam how wrong I was ! this thing has "gave up the ghost" with very little use and now will not even… Read more

It's quicker to use a manual – I think it's worn out, have to juggle cans and sometimes it will open them, mostly it just runs the can around unopened, perhaps the cans are a different shape now?

Terrible – I purchased this can opener in April 2014. After using for 4 months, the motor no longer worked, so took it back to where I purchased it and exchanged it for another. Having used the replacement for probably 4 times, same thing, the motor no longer works, so I have taken it back once again and received a refund.

A pile of rubbish – I think this can opener is a waste of money. It worked ok for me for a few times but after I have had nothing but trouble. It sometimes cuts into the top but won't keep cutting the rest. Sometimes it even does the whole can without a problem. It is going into the bin as soon as I can get something to replace it. Not even wirth 1 star. Won't open tins which is what it is wanted for

Same problem. Pleases itself whether it opens the can or not. A hell of a struggle to someone with arthritic hands!

Good – A great little tin opener for a very reasonable price. I had tried the 'one touch opener' which turned out to be a complete waist of time and money. Attractive, modern design, looks good on the bench. Easy to use with a smooth plastic handle; a powerfull little motor - seems to open the can quickly and easily. Electric, no need for batteries. Can Chewer – I bought this to replace a manual can opener, not sure if it was worth the effort. I have never owned an electric can opener so I had no idea where to put the tin, neither did any member of my family so our first attempts to use this resulted in beetroot flying in all directions. After reading the instruction booklet.... seems obvious in… Read more

hindsight, using the appliance became easier. The device opens cans! It chews them off leaving a somewhat jagged lid but it does open cans which is all I can expect from it . Oh, it also sharpens knives, a handy knife sharpener is fitted into the plastic at the back...this I prefer to the can opener itself. I like the knife sharpener, this is simple and easy to use. The can opener seems to work, not brilliantly but it does function as a device to open cans. It is quiet, fits on the bench without taking up much room and looks reasonably attractive. It is rather cheap and nasty, the cutting blade looks like it would crumble at the first decent sized dog food tin it encountered, as do most parts of this item. Having had many Sunbeam items over the years which have lasted ages I hope this can opener surprises me, doubtful but I live in hope.

Terrible – Serrated wheel that engages can edge made of inferior material. It blunts quickly rendering the whole appliance unusable. On mine, nearly all cans now just sit there. Can often rides out of the mechanism. It appears to be manufactured to sloppy tolerances. Unless you are a juggler, this can cause messy accidents. (A can of beetroot 'climbed'… Read more

Excellent – I have gone through about 8 to 10 manual can openers in the last 4 or 5 years. The only thing that has happened was the release button on… Read more
