Don't even bother trying to use this website. I have an ad blocker (because who doesn't these days with so many news sites giving people viruses) and the site makes themselves unusable because of it. And then even if I do whitelist the site, the surf cams are premium only; they want you to pay through the nose to see anything. So seriously, don't even bother.
Duplicate charges from Surfline I have sent numerous emails to them and searched for a customer service number. I’m not getting a response to my emails. I have been a premium customer for years. Surfline your customer service is horrible. Keep the $99.99 morons
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. They’re trying to monopolize all surf cams and now only letting you watch YESTERDAY’S surf cam unless you shovel out some money to them. Not to mention the unskippable 30 second ads you have to watch for every 10 seconds of surf footage.
Garbage – Originally it was a decent website. Recently they have done away with live reports and simply cut and paste a report without observing the surf. They pretty much have a monopoly having bought out smaller companies and it’s a very sub standard site now. Rubbish, won’t be renewing my subscription
Bring back magic seaweed – Bring back magic seaweed… surfline stinks, pumps you with adds just a substandard product. I will never pay for premium out of principle.
Not bad – They try hard. Not quite as good as some of the ex surf report sites, but their synoptic charts, and wind prognosis is good.
Advertising their stupid site – Please pay us so you Don't see ads from us asking you to pay us. If no one wants to advertise with you Don't put a 15second ad every 30 seconds about you guys it just makes people resent you how do you not know that. Advertise something fine but Don't block people because you guys suck
Dogcrap Website – quality of wave is almost always wrong same with the size (there has been weeks of .5 ft waves lake like conditions and surfline says 1 - 3, like how crap?) all the best spots are behind a paywall and if you go down irl to see it is good ppl call cap bc surfline says its crap even though its crap barreling. in conclusion surfline sucks crap.
Rip off merchants – I signed up for a trial and then Surfline auto-renewed my subscription without any warning emails and despite me not using the subscription at all will not refund me. The only reason I received an email about my subscription at all was because I changed my credit card details and the auto-payment failed email came through to my inbox. Swellnet is locally owned and much better ethics!
Hardly ever works, and now I can't login to cancel subscription – Surfline, please fix your website so I can login using facebook and delete my account.
Can live without it perfectly – I had a free magic seaweed subscription that unfortunately merged I to Surfline account which is a Pathetic company no idea of it cameras are down for a ages ballina sawtell. Pseudo daily reports by someone that looks at a camera . Would not pay a cent . There is a realestate site that you can check Kirra on :-) and that’s all I ned it for Don’t throw your money in the bin
Rip off merchants – Paying for a subscription but the brunswick heads and ballina cameras have been down for MONTHS!!... are we going to be reimbursed for what we paid for and are not getting??
Waste of data – Pathetic website. Built by people who don't have a clue. Done waste your time with this one..

VERY POOR SERVICE – Id rate it no stars but have to give it one.Firstly, they have taken out most of the cameras that I used to look at.So secondly I cant tell IF its worth spending the money and time driving to the coast.ThURDly are these people who bought coastal watch actually surfers?
Avoid – Agree with others, outrageous that our local surf cams have been coopted by this American for-profit company. Why do local surf clubs not put up free competing camera for us? Don't support this by paying them anything. Avoid.
Obviously not in Australia – Wish Coastal Watch was still working in Australia. Surf Forecasts are not accurate and will leave you guessing. After numerous requests to have cam looked at told it was for water safety. Wow, so for water safety the cam is still down. Just use a local surf website as this one is just too big and doesn't cover places that there services cover.
Scam don’t trust Surfline! – Paid for subscription through coastal watch, Continued to get worse with reports and forecasts until now Surfline offer Nothing!!
Have to agree this site is rubbish – Surf2surf NZ use to be brilliant. They sold out to these guys and everything went downhill. Here in Raglan today the report says "pumping". Its not the size or consistency they are reporting and the tides are way way out. Obviously the reporter has different ideas on what is "pumping". 2 foot and crossshore isnt pumping. Best to just use the cams and met service nz for winds and tides. Not worth the money for subscription.
I hate surfline – I hate everything this idea represents. It fills me with rage that there are even people out there who live to scam innocent surfers. I hope surf line and all who are associated with it rot in hell.
Trash – Don't waste your money on financing money greedy scumbags. Coastal watch was a decent page, still packed with annoying ads. This thing is another level of junk. No thanks. Period
Typical corporate USA model – Yes Coastalwatch was a decent way of providing for all surfers, whether paying or free (ads). However, their sellout $$$$ to the consumer pays (always) model at Surfline, as nothing is ever free in the states, has left the Australian surf community with Swellnet as the only LOCAL and reputable online option. Understand that Surfline are providing… Read more
a service (reports, cams etc) but forcing Australians to pay for a glimpse of a local break and broad ranging-non specific surf reports should not cut it here (I hope) like it does in the land of shackled consumerism. Lets throw the hat around (crowdfunding or beachfunding) our local breaks and set up our own simple webcasts and even a reporting platform on a small scale. Probably a pipedream (inhibative cost?, know-how?) but could work with some vested interest, cant be worse than lining the pockets ever greedy US corporations.
Absolute trash don't waste your money – Since about last week late Feb 2022 they completely took down the 10 seconds of free cam view (which was already a joke with the amount of ads) now you have to pay to see anything. And when you do use the 3 free "checks" the stupid cam's always glitching terribly to the point where most cams are unusable or going grey and pixilated. Very… Read more
money-hungry corporate vibes now compared to the original coastal watch days, very sad. They even have the audacity to be like " never hear you should have been here yesterday again" which is super cringy. Luckily I live next to the beach and can walk down but sometimes I just cbf and hope they bring back the free few seconds of cam footage even between ads is better then nothing.

Do not you biggest money scammers! Free service works better and they will not respond to any emails I have sent many – Surfline has ignored and avoided my emails when asking about why the paid service doesn’t work and when requesting a refund! I have sent millions of emails enough is enough
I miss you Coastalwatch! – Cameras are absolute rubbish for Sunny Coast. Both the cams and swell heights predicted are not worth a grain of salt. I thought Surfline would have further improved users' experiences, how I was wrong!
Sloppy – Wrong forecast many times. Specially the size of the waves. Missing coastalwatch!!! The angle of the camera could be better at some beaches, anyway, is frustrating you check the forecast for 2 to 4ft, take your smaller surfboard and face 6 to 8ft. Absolutely shocking!! I wouldn't pay one cent for them!!
Bad customer support for premium customers – Paid for premium to stream surf webcams to TV but TV web browser doesn't support JavaScript. Asked helpdesk alternative login URL but they flat out refused and was rude. Terrible!
What a load of crap – Thanks for destroying a great platform . Coastalwatch was awesome you clueless morons can bash this entire product and anything else your affiliated with right up where the sun don’t shine
Surfline is absolutely rubbish – The constant adds make this service unusable. One of the worst user experiences I have encountered on any website. Why buy Coastwatch and destroy the services it had been providing? You have only invited in competition.
How big is it actually ? – When surf is allegedly 1-2ft but info says could be 3ft plus double overhead then what I paying for? Anyone could write this review. I want specificity! Especially when it’s a deciding factor of where I’m going to spend an hour or so driving too.
It doesn't even allow you to watch the cam for 30 sec... It's terrible – Great example of a company that does not understand the importance of user experience. This is one of the worst websites I have ever used. I guess the end-user isn't the surfer but the company you're placing the ads for.
Absolute garbage – Had Coastwatch, Surfline is garbage, cameras on the beach please not six hundred metres back, most of the beaches have cameras on lifesaver lookouts, when I try to access beach cams, there is always an issue with a camera, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, sunshine, dicky is out of focus, ads galore, I’m not paying for this
Coastawatch to Surfline – What a joke - there should be a free aspect (sure there will be adds) Cams just freeze and you are prompted to subscribe unfortunately. The user experience is not nearly as good now.
CoastalWatch was 100% better – I'm really sorry for this takeover. Surfline is a piece of crap compared to CoastalWatch. I'm definitely NOT going to give any money for an inferior product. Bad camera angles. Poor performance. And even the paid site is full of ads. Avoid.
