Suunto T6D

Expensive unreliable and battery hungry – Bought with Dual Comfort Belt & Foot Cadence and Bike Pods and Memory Belt (Triathlon Pack) To be fair the Watch looks good and the footpod (if a little bulky by modern standards works fine. The Dual function HRM Belt malfunctioned - giving readings in the 250-300 range regularly. The only way to switch it off was to take out the battery -… Read more
eventually Suunto replaced it.
The Watch unit eats CR3020 batteries - Suunto said it was my fault for fitting cheap batteries - I wasn't, then it was the belt, - still did it with a new belt. Told me a battery may only last 6-10 weeks. Mine lasted 3-4 days.
When I returned the unit - they said it wasn't covered by warranty because I'd changed the battery - when I pointed out they market user battery replacement as a function they blamed me for damaging the case and wanted to charge 72 euros for a new case. I pointed out that the original battery only lasted a week and they must have damaged the unit fitting it - they said No - 72 EUROS please.
When I asked if the repair was covered by warranty - originally they said no - then backtracked. I asked for the original case to be returned with the unit or independent assessment - they said NO.
I am left with devices I can't use - unless I pay extra - with no guarentee it will work if I do - and they will NOT return the damaged parts which they eventually conceeded to belonged to me - because they might be recycled (very green) to provide parts for other repairs - or allow me to get them independently assessed.
Further their Movescount analysis software is useless - fiendishly difficult to upload data - totally unreliable and magically produces completely different results to those show on the watch.
Gets 1 star only because you can't give zero
My advice - for this Money Buy a Garmin 910XT (or 310XT) and see how it should be done Looks Everything else not least Customer support and after sales
Battery hungry and inaccurate – Purchased it with memory belt and speed and cadence for bike. Was told accurate within 5%, some days it isn't within 15%. Compared to garmin and polar you need a degree to operate this watch. paid $900 for it new and had I known how bad it eats battery would have purchased garmin with rechargeable battery for half the price. I went through 7 of… Read more
the flat 2032 batteries in six months only using it 3-4 times a week, pathetic. Took the watch back after 10 months (coldnt use it for 4) and suunto replaced it. I have had the new watch for 3 months and on 3rd battery already and only training with it twice a week. My polar 725x with same battery would last for 3 years with 5-6 times a week use. I would definitely not recommend this model as it is rubbish. Looks slick Expensive, battery hungry, inaccurate on bike and foot pod, complicated
