I don’t recommend this product. It produces a good amount of steam and heats up quickly. The large capacity makes sure that you can keep it on all night without worry of the water drying out. mould that hold the water has little feet which traps water and hence doesn’t fully empty. After 1 month, the filter looks dirty already. Purchased 30 June 2025
It won't last long – It works great but in my experience it never lasts more then 3-4 months. It has a 3 year warranty which the company was honouring until now. Its less than 2 years since I bought it. False advertising.
Awful – Most useless product ..just stopped working and so hard to get it started. I have hardly used it for 5 times and it doesn't switch on .
Vaporiser Exploded – Whilst using the vaporiser, my husband and I were watching TV and all Of a sudden we seen and her a loud explosion, we thought it was the TV coz but in fact it was the vaporiser. There’s a crack right through the middle of the steamer. It literally blew the switches and my husband had to turn the switch back on from the power box. Very dangerous product. Don’t buy!! This is horrible and needs to be recalled – We haven’t had it for anymore than a year and it’s shorted the power out and blown itself up. It’s a dangerous product and I believe it should be taken off the market. We always followed the instructions and never over filled it. Show details

This product needs to be recall before it burned someone’s house down – Purchased Taav Vaporiser (model T2020) from Chemist Warehouse on 07/06/2023. First time used, it was fine. After 2nd and 3rd of using (less than a week), I noticed the water filled with black stuffs from burnt layers inside the machine. It’s not the mineral from the hard water. from the tip. I always make sure I did not overfill, usually about 2cm below the max line. Within 6-8hours of operating, only a tiny bit of water left inside. Whereas in the box it says up to 20+ hours steam time.
I took it back to Chemist Warehouse I purchased from and the guy behind the counter said the black burnt bit is normal?! As there was a customer that had the same problem and when they called Taav customer service, they refused to refund. That is why he said it is normal and as long as it works, should be fine. I tried to explained to the guy that it is a hazard and what if it blows up, cause it is definitely a burnt. He insisted it’s a normal thing and he said I have to call the company myself if I wanted to get a refund/exchange. Definitely not helping!
The product itself actually works well for my cough, felt the difference right on the first time used. But, if the item isn’t safe to use then what’s the point of having it. Specially if it could create fire from having burnt machine.
Save yourselves and time by getting other vaporiser brand and with a good reputable customer service. I don't recommend getting this kinda stuffs from Chemist Warehouse as their policy is not really convenient with refund/exchange. It is cheaper but IF you got unlucky and received faulty item like mine, it’s a pain to deal with.
Not worth the money!! – Have had it for less than a year and the plastic top fell apart exposing the electrical. Rusty water has been dribbling from the electrical insert from day one. And brown larticled seems sit at the base, which we had to thoroughly wash and clean everyday. You have to unplug the unit to turn it off, theres no switch. Which is very inconvenient. It's an expensive junk. Rather spend a little more for a good one. Show details
Loved it! So helpful when sick with cold flu congestion. So devo that can't find it anywhere now the last one broke down – My last unit broke down last week and bought euky bear brand as I n bub loves its rub. However the vapouriser isn't that effective as this Taav one was. Now this is out of stock everywhere n both me n bub are sick. So devastating that i can't find another new unit. Good machine, so I bought another – As long as you clean by emptying out the TAAV every use, put the recommended additive in, not smelly oils or paraffin based gunk and don't put it on carpet so it can't vent, you will have a simply lovely nights sleep. machine fits snug. No, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the machine has a safety switch and you need to turn the power off to turn it back on to work again. Good steam flow and keeps the room warm as well.
Like with all vaporisers, you will need to clean your walls in summer to remove inevitable moulds. We are painting and adding mould resistant paint. Bingo!
Works great, but two have failled - NO SUPPORT – These units work really well. Unfortunately we have had two of them fail and the so called "5 Year Warranty" is useless. One of the units actually went bang and something blew up inside, another unit has had brown sludgey water dribble out the bottom it has presumably been into the electrics. I have emailled TAAV on several occasions and have never had a reply.
I really want to love this vaporiser, especially because it is Australian made and can understand that stuff happens from time to time but the lack of support for this unit is disappointing.
I will be finding another brand to buy - sadly there doesnt appear to be any Australian made units that are not made by TAAV.
Amazing! – I bought a vaporizer before this one and when I used it, it smelled like burning plastic and I was extremely concerned because I was using it with my newborn son. to clean.. It is sealed closed with nothing but the vent at the top so you cannot clean it properly by wiping the inside. I had to rinse it a lot of times to be sure all the gunk was out and then let it air dry for two - three days before I packed it away. It also is a bit loud but nothing you can't sleep through.. I am a light sleeper and it was fine.
It is the best that I have tried – I have tried a few vaporizers over the years and always come back to this one. It simply works, providing a steady stream all night, helping me breathe and get a good night's sleep. I think it's the best
