I went to the local target store yesterday to return 2 items. I had expected to receive a credit to my account straight away as has happened in the past however instead I received an email saying my refund was being processed and if I didn't hear from them in 5 days to get in touch. What's going on??
Bought Target boots on the Kmart site. Didn’t fit. Returned to the Newton SA store. Staffer made me go home to get an invoice. Didn’t receive one. Phoned Kmart, they emailed it, took it back to Newton Target. Same staffer said that’s not a Target invoice, took my boots, and didn’t issue a refund. That’s theft. Will have to waste more time Monday… Read more
making phone calls. Already sent emails. Target emails are probably a waste of time going by other reviews. Now they’re stealing from us.
Returned an item in March. It has taken 6 emails (one reply only, which went nowhere) until today a phone call from me, 2nd June, with a threat to contact Consumer Affairs to receive my refund. Do not buy from Target online.

For products target are no better or worse than k mart or big w. Their downfall is dire customer service - as proven by their flybuys "Promotions". Twice now I have activated an offer from flybuys promising me x5 bonus points for purchases at target. On neither occasion did I get the points. Value of the latest reneged offer is just 90c. But… Read more
if everybody taking up the "Offer" was deprived of 90c. The overall amount might be quite considerable. And far more than 90c. Lost in bad will. I certainly won't shop at target again. Also leaving a bad taste in the mouth is flybuys customer services people promising that the points will be added to my account, but they never are. And that is a bad look for flybuys, particularly as their coles, liquorland and bunnings promotions generally run smoothly.
This is in regards to the online store. I should have read the reviews first, I ordered something over a week ago, it’s been sitting at the store ready for pickup for a week. I contacted customer support numerous times; the online chat was constantly disconnected by agent I believe on purpose as it was too hard to follow up. My order was almost… Read more
$200 and a birthday present. I’ve contacted them again by email to try and figure out what is happening and put in a formal complaint about the online chat assistance. Target please do not respond with sorry please click this link to redirect me back to a service that doesn’t assist me. Unfortunately due to this experience I won’t order from target again due to their poor assistance.
My experience with Target Strathpine, has been extremely disappointing and unacceptable. I attempted to return items and provided a bank statement clearly showing the date and time of purchase. Despite this valid proof, the staff refused to process the refund. When I escalated the matter to an acting manager (Megan) I was told this was due to a… Read more
“new policy,” which was neither explained properly nor applied with any flexibility or common sense.
I was then promised a copy of the receipt when I contacted the call center, so I could proceed with the refund. This was never sent, and all my attempts to follow up either via phone call or online chat have been completely ignored.
This demonstrates a serious lack of customer service, accountability, and basic respect for consumers. Failing to honour a reasonable refund request, while also failing to follow through on a promised resolution, is unacceptable.
Under Australian Consumer Law, consumers are entitled to remedies when they can provide proof of purchase — and a bank statement is explicitly recognised as valid proof. Refusing to act on this, and then failing to provide the promised documentation is not only poor customer service but potentially a breach of consumer obligations.
Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others about shopping there.

NO STARS. Looking at the review history, online ordering issues are common and long-standing. Interactions with staff suggest they are of the same opinion and there are no solutions forthcoming, so as a customer I feel like an inconvenience, with limited assistance offered, if at all. Live Chat feature has functionality issues, agent ending chat… Read more
while I madly attempt to reply. Answers provided to ordering issues seem speculative rather than factual, suggesting changes to stock levels, but when pressed after restarting Live Chat feature, (as website still advises product available for home delivery,) I’m advised my account is blocked by a security feature which can only be corrected by calling 1300 customer service line. Agent then reverting back to stock levels and suggesting Click and Collect, when I have advised the local store has no stock. After 33 minutes waiting, my account needs to be referred to a specialist team who will advise in 48-72 hours. In the meantime do not place any orders as they will most likely continue to be rejected. No, nothing can be expedited or escalated further, but is there anything else they can help with?? Ridiculous. This isn’t my first time with issues ordering online but my first time progressing this far with understanding what is occurring. I’ve previously lost $75 in gift cards, as “the system” rejected the validity of details entered. As I disposed of gift cards after completing my order, I had no card numbers or expiry dates I could provide, so I was offered no solution and left out of pocket. It is astounding to find a company with such limited interest in helping customers successfully complete a purchase.
I ordered a blazer and some shoes online. The jacket was shoved in a bag with the shoes and is all wrinkled. The jacket was also covered in dust/lint etc.. Target clothing was great before Anko took over. Do better next time with packing ones order.

Target is horrible, you place an order, 2 days later the item is not available. Years passed and still the same no improvement, It’s simple in stock or not. You wait for the refund, hoping to buy something else, you get charged delivery again and might not be in stock. They give you promotion code that don’t work. No one to talk to anyone on weekends, only unhelpful AI. Website and the app are buggy all the time for years.

A size 16 pair of slacks was just shoved into a tiny pack. After carefully extracting it was all crushed and creased badly. I am not sure why. Probably to save on postage?
What on earth target, how could anyone even pack this , have they not been trained to see unfit products. Received this yesterday, could not believe my eyes. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed, should have been throw in the bin at warehouse. Gel eye masks are completely dried out and stuck to the coating.
I bought bathers in 2 different sizes using my OnePass account 5 days ago. When I placed the order and Target took my money the items were available. The order has been showing as ready to send for days now. send and the Agent ended the conversation while I was still sending my next message without giving me time to reply. What is going on with Target. It used to be great to order and get your products but has declined over the years, perhaps that's why I shop there less and less online. I have had to edit these pics to hide my information. But it shows what I have stated.

BEWARE… online stuff ups become YOUR problem to fix! Purchased a 3 Pack Australian Cotton Blend Hipster Trunks - Maxx they arrived with security tag through them. email. I did, attached photo and 5-6 days later have not received a response. Tried Target Facebook which was also suggested. Got a response after 24 odd hours with two options: 1: return them for a refund (I bought them because I needed them) Or 2: take them to my local Target store to have the security tag removed.
I purchased online, bought enough items to qualify for free shipping. So I didn’t need to go into a store. My local store is just over 1/2hr drive away. Not really local.
Amazed that for a set of three trunks that were on special for $14 Target just didn’t (were not willing to) send me another set.
I understand staff are trained to remove security tags, mistakes happen and they were missed being taken off, but Targets solution for an online purchase issue is totally unsatisfactory.
Beware!
Worst customer service of Aussie company ever. Ordered click collect bit product changed to delivery. Needed product asap so bought elsewhere. Spent 2 hours on wend to no avail. Rang cust service on Mon (on hold for 1hr15min) to ASIA. No local call centre. Of course they could do nothing to assist from Asia. Wth. Over a $20 product i will not be using Target again EVER.

On the 9th June, ‘25, I ordered on line a Rory blue queen cover set, 9th june, recieved 13th June, just now putting on bed, has white marks all over it.
Follow-up · Yes I contacted them, was told I could take them to my nearest target ( Mackay ) I got refund. No idea what caused marks.
I bought a pair of "large" size men's pyjamas only to find that while the top fits well, the shorts are way too tight, just like a small size! St^pid sizing! Same thing happened with a so-called large pair of track pants. I'm done with them and will not buy anything more.
Follow-up · It was Target's own brand. Yes I normally take large and the size guide sounded right. Fabric was not stretchy.
I’ve purchased Target Curve plus sized clothes for a few years now as they were of a good quality and fit. My latest buys, purchased on line, are of an inferior quality, feel like plastic and have pulled out of shape. The pants also wrinkle badly.… Read more
This has been since Target became an ANKO supplier. I will no longer purchase clothing as I’m wasting my money. I can’t even donate the terrible quality clothing.
Follow-up · I no longer purchase clothing from Target and have now tossed all the terrible clothes I purchased. It was too inferior to even donate and couldn’t be used as rags. It was a waste of money, but I won’t get caught out again

Target consistently provides women of all ages with everyday clothes for travel, work, evening and exercise. There’s always something new and stylish and at a good price! Keep up the great work Target
I ordered 2 items from Target recently . Ordering was seamless and notification for click and collect within 24 hrs - great . Needed to change size when collected . Collection at the Tuggeranong store (ACT) was seamless. Staff were friendly, efficient, and made the whole process effortless. A genuinely smooth experience from start to finish. Definitely recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Follow-up · Easy to set up and control via the app, although it's still a bit bright to my liking even on the dimmest setting. But it's still a good value and I'm not complaining.

I thought 3 plastic storage containers would be handy. Got the home washed then went to use them but they didn't close properly. Only spent a few dollars but won't be buying them again.

I’m very disappointed with the service I’ve received from Target regarding a missing delivery. As someone who works in customer service, I'm blown away how poorly Target support functions. my own. I checked the premises thoroughly and also spoke with neighbouring residents, including the neighbour linked to the mailbox shown in the delivery photo, but the package still has not been located.
Despite this, the issue has not been resolved properly. From my perspective, a parcel placed in the wrong mailbox should not be treated as a successful delivery, especially when the customer has made reasonable efforts to locate it.
I expected better support and accountability from Target. At this stage, the experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing

I am compelled to share this experience as a warning to other shoppers. In February 2025, I purchased a quilt cover online through Target Australia. Within two weeks, I was notified by email that the item was out of stock and that a refund would be issued. Four months later, I am STILL waiting! Over this period, I have contacted Target customer… Read more
service numerous times. On every occasion, I have been told my case would be "escalated" — a word that has clearly lost all meaning within their organisation. I was once told point-blank that the refund had been processed and would appear in my account within the week. That was four weeks ago. It never arrived, and I received no further communication.
At one point, I was informed that the delay was due to an internal IT glitch. While that may explain the initial delay, it does not explain why a paying customer has been left to chase this repeatedly for four months with no resolution, no accountability, and no proactive communication whatsoever.
Target has had every opportunity to rectify this situation and has failed to do so at every turn. The repeated empty assurances are arguably worse than the original error itself.
Live chat is never connected. The items I received were soiled so I phoned to report this and was told they would send me return postage labels that day so I could return the items by mail. No labels arrived so I made an online application for labels. This was several days ago and there's no sign of the labels. Appalling customer service. Also noticed when you phone target everyone is called Love or Lovely (!)
Severe sizing errors and completely non-existent customer service I am a standard size 12–14. I ordered the "Embossed Double Keeper Buckle Belt (Matte Gold)" online in a Small, which arrived much too large. Hoping to fix the issue, I ordered an Extra Small. The XS arrived physically and significantly larger than the Small - it would easily fit a… Read more
size 18. There is a massive quality control failure with the sizing labels on this specific item.
Worse than the product failure is Target’s appalling customer service. I have paid for shipping twice for a faulty, mislabelled item. I returned the first one in-store at Waurn Ponds, which took an age due to staff confusion over their Kmart/Target integration.
When I emailed customer service about the second incorrect belt, they sent a generic template link that ignored my request for a shipping refund. I followed up on April 18 and more than a month later, they have completely ignored my emails.
Do not trust the online size guide, and beware that if you receive a faulty item, Target will happily take your shipping money and ignore your complaints. I would leave zero stars if possible.
What is the point of having a ‘contact us’ section on your website if you don’t intend on responding?! I have emailed 3 times now over the past few weeks and have not received a single response. The whole purpose of emailing is to enquire about whether or not I can return a product rather than risking the trip to my local store only to be turned away if I am unable to return the item.
I feel very disappointed i bought a jeans for my girl I wrong size then I lost my receipt when I go for size change they said if you dobt have receipt you cant change even you use did card payment it means your money ruined and it is insane
I wanted to share some feedback about a recent visit I had at your Knox City store on 28/4/2026 at around 11am, as the experience left me quite uncomfortable. walking towards the front of the store to pay.
At that point, the staff member at the back register told me that I had to pay there in front of other customers. I said I preferred to pay at the front, and also mentioned that another customer had just picked items from the same area and walked off without being asked to pay there. She responded that she didn’t see that person.I then told her I would pay and I was going to pay at the front.
I went to the front and checked with another staff member before paying, and she confirmed that customers are allowed to pay at any register. This left me quite confused.
To be honest, the interaction didn’t sit well with me. The way it was handled made me feel like I was being singled out or treated with suspicion, which was quite uncomfortable given I was just trying to shop normally.
I understand there may be concerns around theft for certain items, but if there is a specific policy, it should be clearly communicated and applied consistently to all customers.
I’d appreciate it if this could be looked into, and I would like a response clarifying your store’s policy as well as how situations like this will be handled going forward. I also believe an apology would be appropriate given the experience.
