Bought two years ago (roughly early 2024). Slow to buffer and load. Full of small bugs that vary from time to time, eg. no sound; program guide won't load; etc. Recommend paying a few extra dollars for something more reliable.
It does the job well. Much better than the sister 40" product from Hisense, as it has a better picture (not as affected by viewing angle), and it found twice the channels when digital scanning. It also has better a menu system and adjustment options. It's very easy to set up streaming channels from the Google Play Store. Sound is reasonable from… Read more
the inbuilt speakers, and acceptable in a bedroom. Its also good to remember that the sound quality can be maximized via easy adjustment of the equalizer settings - as can the picture quality via a wide range of controls inc. warmth and black level. I'd highly recommend it as a 2nd TV for those on a budget. Very good value for money. Give yourself some TLC and go for the TCL. :)
This is the worst tv I have every bought, it is forever locking up, the remote is so unresponsive, I'm so sick of having to do a factory reset each time it locks up. And the most frustrating think is I have taken this tv in three times back to JB and they tell me they can't do anything because the tv has to show the fault and because it does it… Read more
about every two weeks it never faults when i take it in because when you unplug this useless tv for over 5min sometimes fixes the problem, so people don't waste your money on this unit.

Poor quality 40" TV – DO NOT BUY THIS TV. Bought this TCL 40" tv approx 18 months ago and it's the worst I've ever experienced. Lag time on start up, being able to change channels or raise/lower volume is upto 20-40 sec delay. Simple things like on/off button and mute on the remote are opposite to other tv's. Channel information on search dosent match what is actually… Read more
on show. Recently it's just gone blank, sound but no picture. Absolute piece of cheap Chinese rubbish. 0.
Affordable, quality little tv – Purchased this full high definition smart tv for the bedroom. Its a perfect size and relatively easy to set up. Mounted easily on the wall. Wifi set up was pretty straight forward, just make sure you have all the passwords ready. Great picture, good sound. Took a while to work out what all the buttons on the remote do. Easy to switch between… Read more
tv and apps. Easy to add different apps through Google Play. There is a white light on the bottom of the tv that glows brightly when tv is in standby, so we switch the tv off at the wall when finished. For its price $265 on sale, it is excellent value. We chose the TCL because we have a larger one in the lounge that we are very happy with. TCL are not top of the range but are a decent quality and very affordable.
Worst TV I've ever owned – Worst TV I've ever owned or had the displeasure of using. Even though it sits next to the router it regularly loses wifi connection. On start up there is at least 1 minute lag before it actually starts responding. Randomly switches off or crashes. TCL support tried resolving the issues by updating the firmware, it's made zero difference. Deserves less than 1 star. Show details
Great TV but – A good tv great value. Only thing that is slightly annoying is the delay when using remote control. Heaps of apps and I can add any app. Connectivity is excellent. Show details
