Our company has never actually subscribed to Teamviewer. We use via a subscription provided as part of a package via our services provider, but we've never actually needed our own subscription nor had one. No matter, Teamviewer decided to invoice us anyway, and via a debt collection agency have been threatening us for over a year now. Each month… Read more

I provide the same response; please provide evidence of an original invoice and services rendered, each month the response is yet another threatening demand letter.

So I would strongly advise against opening a subscription with Teamviewer. The evidence seems overwhelming that once you subscribe it's very difficult to cancel, and if you try then they will hound you for payment via a collection agency.

Been using this product for a while, but it is now going south. They have increased their prices to a level I say is extortion. They have released a whole new graphic interface, which they have botched badly. Functions don't work, and is now too colplex to use for its core purpose. Will be moving everyhting to a new service provider instead of contending with this system anymore.

There is nothing wrong with the product, but there is something VERY wrong with their sales: I bought 2 PERPETUAL/ LIFETIME licenses for TeamViewer years back, only to hear that Teamviewer one-sidedly decided to end functionality for my licenses. Then, what is the meaning of the word PERPETUAL or LIFETIME? That's just false advertising, in my… Read more

opinion.

In case anybody hears about a class action lawsuit, keep me updated. I bought 2 PERPETUAL/LIFETIME licenses for v11, and they suit me just fine (I don't need more functions). I understand that software needs updating, but if I buy a PERPETUAL license, it means I should be able to use it perpetually. I hate teamviewers nonsense answer saying that my licenses are still valid, is just that they won't connect to the Internet anymore. That defeats the whole purpose.

So, either my money back, or let me continue to use the product as it was sold.

Furthermore, these days there are many companies with better and more affordable products. Even free ones. I think Teamviewer is resting on its laurels from the days they were pretty much the only decent product. But those days are over.

Teamviewer have become scammers! they increase yearly cost by 50% then call you to renew and when you decline they threaten debt collectors even though you technically do not owe anything to anyone as you always pay 1 year in advance anyway.. Do not purchase from them, ever! they are literally just scammers now scalping cash from people and making threats while price gouging and forcing you to remain with them for a year.

Scammers!! As others have said they are highly unethical and deceitful. They sent one reminder email about renewing on 2 Jan (when everyone is on holidays) and then I now get harassed by them constantly once I didn't pay their invoice. They are now sending debt collection letters and calling me. I terminated the subscription after renewal in the… Read more

Never again. They are unethical and deceitful – They are a German company, and your agreement is with them, not PayPal or any company in your country. Your local consumer protections don't help. That makes dispute resolution near impossible. They require 28 days notice for cancelations but give no warnings, they raise the price without warning, and they don't offer a dispute mechanism. Even PayPal can't help. Deal with them at your own risk.

LOCK IN SUBSCRIPTIONS SCAM – DO NOT USE TEAMVIEWER!! They are very sneaky and will lock you into automatic renewing subscription that you cannot get out of. If you don't give them written notice 28 days before your subscription renewal they will "email" you an invoice and demand payment. There is no online option to cancel your subscription in your account settings. You have… Read more

to lodge a support ticket. Support staff don't care to help, they will email you back and say that you have to pay it. BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS CORRUPT COMPANY.

Worst company i've ever dealt with – This company is a bleeding scam, their EULA terms are illegal in most countries, i found out to late as i was away for a month and they contacted me 28x days after the renewal asking for my renewal.

laws laws and laws – Software is great. However, BE CAREFUL with the EULA terms - they actually catch you if you dont read it, and even if you don't use the product they will ask you to pay the full fees for the next year then cancel just because you didn't cancel your contract 28 DAYS before your subscription expires. They will ask for a screenshot to prove that you… Read more

have requested cancellation - cancelling from the customer portal is not enough of a proof. Being with this company 10+ years, completely disappointed with their hard-lined LEGAL approach. I've signed up to many businesses and have never been grilled this way. I have sought not to renew my contracts with them anymore and will do anything to get away from this company.

5 stars for software if you pay for a subscription. Free version for personal use is useless – Great app if you're prepared to pay for subscription. I used it for many years in my work and I was a happy paying subscriber. Now that I'm retired and no longer using it for work (only personal use) I have downgraded to the free account. The problem is that I can't use it. As soon as Teamviewer THINKS that I am using it for non-personal use,… Read more

they disconnect me. There is no way to prove to them that it is personal use. Their assumption is all that matters. 5 stars for the paid product. Less than one star for the free (so-called) personal use version.

Use 1x or 2x a year, says I can't use a free Personal license because I have been "supporting others professionally" – Avoid this product and company unless you are willing to pay for their Professional license. I try to help my dad out remotely and once or twice a year I need to control his PC. But Teamviewer says "your usage pattern suggests you have been supporting others professionally." If you complain Teamviewer will eventually fix your license and let you… Read more

use it again. But this takes days. And my old dad needs help NOW. Then in 6 months if you try to use it again, you'll get the same message. So just save yourself the trauma and heartache and time, just avoid this product. Unless you are 10% happy to pay for the Professional license. I'd call it bait and switch, the company probably has some weasel word for this. Try MS Quick Assist if you are using Windows, seems to work fine.

Dysfunctional Software and Bad Attitude to Customers – Avoid. Opening a paid account will provide you with a control panel in which half of the functions are not working and their meaning unclear. They are completely ignorant of the fact they need to inform clients about what their control panel does. Calling Teamviewer in Adelaide results in stubborn rebuttals that I got what I paid for inspite of… Read more

never managing to make the paid functions work. Well rehearsed lines when it comes to trying to get a refund. I'd heard bad reports but could not believe it until I tried for myself. Now advising OIC that they persisted in sending spam after the account was closed, unsubscribes were clicked and having called Teamviewer.

Absolute scummy company – I had a subscription which I needed to use for a few months. They refused to cancel my subscription for the next year because my request was made less than 60 days before the renewal (even though I didn't get the reminder until after that). I did not pay, and now they are sending me debt collection letters. Absolute rip-off and garbage way to treat customers. Will absolutely never use their products again.

Predatory contracts – After 4 years we had to cancel, however, their unlawful predatory 28 day cancellation policy meant they have sent our subscription to a debt collector. They where notified, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY USES PREDITORY CONTRACTS AND HAS NO CONSCIENCE!

Do Not subscribe!! – They will send you to collections if you don't pay an invoice because you decided not to re-subscribe! Usually if you don't pay for a subscription it gets cancelled BUT not with these guys! They will hound you and send you emails and mail to harass. When you call up to cancel they try to read some script to say that you are obligated to pay them!… Read more

Absolute scam artists for small time users – Teamviewer comes after you for money after deactivating a free trial then proceeds to send debt collectors in foreign language to your emails. Scam artists absolutely horrible experience. Have no support help to cancel services. What a farce! Where is the ZERO stars option for this review? – Free for personal use? No! I use it for 100% non-commercial - I am not paid a cent! However, THEY have decided, based on sweet fa, that I can have a maximum 5 minute connection (which btw lasts about 30 seconds). I have my 86 yo mother in lockdown, whose only connection to the outside world is her computer - and I can’t even help her if she has a… Read more

computer issue! AND no-one else can either - because they are in lockdown! Get with it TeamViewer - we’re in the middle of a pandemic. Not the time to be extorting money from those in need! All I can suggest is that the world takes advantage of Chrome Remote Desktop and give TeamViewer a VERY wide berth. And TeamViewer - don’t say you are free for Non-commercial Use when you are NOT - false advertising, misleading, and just downright dishonest.

Special offer ends up costing you money – A perpetual license is not honored. Not sure how they can change the condition of sales once the sale is made. I am looking into the legal aspects of this. When i went to load v13 had issues, I rang and got another story. Shame on you Team Viewer. Business that don't honor their product don't last very long

disgraceful TeamViewer license practices and ethics – After 5 years using team viewer (full business license lifetime license, paid in full), I got this email from TeamViewer: Thank you for choosing TeamViewer. To ensure the highest security and fastest connections possible, Server Services for TeamViewer versions 9 and 10 will be discontinued, effective June 1, 2021. How does this affect me? … Read more

As of June 1, 2021, connections outside your network with TeamViewer 9 and 10 licenses will not be possible. Because we’re committed to providing the best TeamViewer service possible, we’re excited to offer you a special complimentary trial of TeamViewer version 15, valid from January 19, 2021, through May 31, 2021.

I purchased a perpetual license, but the greed of TeamViewer wishing to put people into a subscription model, has made the smaller support organizations now facing either having to pay a ridiculously high yearly fee, or looking elsewhere for another more affordable product. When you read the license, as being, PERPETUAL, and then you sneak in a time limit, then that is not PERPETUAL is it? This is disgraceful, and even worse pretending it's about security when it's all about trying to force me into a subscription. I have paid you a lot of money for my perpetual license for TeamViewer 10. Will you be refunding this now that you are stealing back what I bought from you? I bought a perpetual license tv version 10 in 2015 and was told it was for a lifetime. well, a lifetime isn't 6 years.

Larger organizations with a lot of end users can afford to pay the amount requested by TeamViewer, but smaller organizations who have spent their thousands of bucks through the years doing incremental updates when they seemed worthwhile, are now no longer even considered. When I purchased my license, I was told that it was perpetual, as in "forever". I purchased my license in 2015 and you only created your so called "Lifecycle Policy" in 2018. Is this even legal? I am prepared to take legal action against TeamViewer if they cut my service. Absolutely ridiculous and in bad faith! If anyone else is interested in coming together to create a Class Action Lawsuit, please post below. TeamViewer wants to move all users to Subscriptions licenses, paying every year, and auto renew it…

Please read why TeamViewer wants to use only subscriptions users... easy money ... and you can’t get out of it... https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.teamviewer.com?stars=1&stars=2

Hope that TeamViewer will change their practices and ethics and won’t continue their greedy ways.

Sold a Perpetual license for their software 8 yrs ago and now say its terminated...Thieves!! – Perpetual license means pay an upfront price to get neverending license with timely security updates included. These thieves terminated all perpetual licenses to force clients to buy their monthly subscriptions.
