"Easy to use" These are great if you want to be able to turn things on and off remotely. You can also set up a schedule to turn on and off automatically. Get the 4-pack as you will use them up a lot faster than you think! The TAPO app is a lot easier to use than the one Arlec uses (Grid Connect). The Arlec app feels like it's designed by a… Read more

control systems engineer, whereas the Tapo app just does the obvious simple things that normal people need to do, like set times when the power turns on and off. You can also set it to turn on and off randomly but I haven't tried that feature. Now that I've used the TAPO power points I'll be getting some Tapo light bulbs and tossing the Arlec ones.

These are small so honestly I wouldn't want to be switching on and off things that use a lot of power or have a motor. For lamps and stuff like that - perfect.

Perfect for those wanting to make dumb devices smart. I had some older Brilliant plugs that sadly just seem to stop being sold and no support for app. I moved over to TPLink Tapo and the experience was a lot better. The plug is easy to add to network and app, and app itself easy to setup and schedule on and off timers. I am using these for Heaters… Read more

in winter, Christmas lights in summer, Sub in sound system that once off draws a lot of power and the automated cat litter at night so it does not wake up.

Pros: -Affordable, more so when on sale. -Easy to setup -LED can be turned into Night Mode -Integrates with Google Home well -Can set timers and share devices

Cons: -Main gripe is lack of Apple Homekit support -Initially I could use with a widget in iOS, now this seems to no longer allow me to add devices

CAREFUL!! It fried two of my fans – CAREFUL!! It fried two of my fans. **I am not saying all plug will, this is recent, and ongoing case with TP-LINK. I bought P100 twin pack, and using it on a 45CM inductrial fan, where i want to control remotely when needed; it killed my first fan after 15 days, condition was P100 is plugged in a socket and stayed on, fan 1 is plugged in, and… Read more

have used 4~5 hours daily;

P100 was purchased on the 14th Dec 2024, start using on 16th Dec 2024 and fan 1 is killed 1st Jan 2025 12pm; first i thgout it's just time for the fan is up, so i pluged in my fan 2, also 45cm industrial fan, aprox same day 1st Jan 2025 at 2PM; and the next day 2nd Jan 2025 11AM when trying ti turing on the fan (fan 2) , it's dead, AGAIN :-(

so if this ever happens to you, don't plug anything else in, there is a chance the plug is feeding your device continous power even when device is off but plug is on so it kept feeding and kill devices.

will update later. Cheers.

Love these plugs! – I have a large Tapo smart home system with dozens of devices. I’m a huge fan! These plugs really form the core of the system really. I use them primarily for lamps and I tie the plugs to smart switches and motion sensors. I have one large room in particular where I have 6 of them. There’s two entrances to the room and I have a smart switch at each… Read more

entrance.

Hitting a switch turns on a half dozen lamps around the room. It’s awesome. Big deco and Tiffany style lamps which add an awesome ambience. This would be simply impossibly impractical without the plugs. There’s no way I’d be turning all these on one by one. It would absolutely lose its appeal.

I have my work from home setup tied to one too. Hit a switch and all my monitors turn on. Leave the room at the end of the day and they all turn off.

I’m currently building an attached workshop and will use a bunch of them there too. Basically in the same way. One switch to turn on all the power to machines around the shop so when I leave, the mains power is easily turned off to them all.

Great smart plug – Good wifi reception. Easy to set up and configure schedules. Integrates perfectly with Google home. Switches pool pump/chlorinator very reliably. Has a switch on it for manual start/stop - very convenient. Show details ·  1

Great Product – Easy to use and works perfectly first time. The socket is reasonably priced in particular when you take into consideration the poor experience of other cheaper brands. The set up of 2 sockets literally took me 5 mins to set up through the app.
