I had an AirTag but thought buying the Tractive would be an upgrade. Well it was definitely an upgrade in the budget! Initially costing $60aud then another $156 for the Cheapest subscription (which I still can’t work out how to cancel). Compared to AirTag $50 flat fee. satellites and not Bluetooth alone (like the AirTag) and honestly it is better. However it’s not 100% accurate.

I’m giving it one star because it is inaccurate, overpriced and it’s bulky. No wonder they lock you in for a year because if it was monthly I bet no one would pay for the whole year.

50 steps that disappears too. If you want to spend this kind of money for your escape artist dog in your city yard then go ahead but otherwise, for finding a lost dog, or of leash recall training, it is a waste of money and useless product.

Also, I spent $29 to return it as they do not pay for free shipping on returns. Be aware do a deep dive research. It was recommended to me by someone and I trusted their recommendation instead of doing my own research I paid for it…..!!!!

Very disappointed in this product. Not accurate at all, gives alerts of the dog being way out of designated area in danger zone when in his pen, plus additional expensive subscription required . This product was such a waste of money and just does not work. Very regretful purchase. Show details

If I could give 0 stars, I would. So you spent $79 at JB-HiFi. You pay Tractive $219 bucks for Premium plan - self renewing subscription. BE CAREFUL Guys, it's in the T&C auto-renewal, unless you cancel. You cannot pay monthly for Premium, you have to fork out either $156 for a year or $219 for 2 years.. Tracker as such - when it works, it works, rain, obstacles- limited connectivity , no issues with that - that's how GPS works, meaning limited auto updates. There is a few not logical things, like 'live tracking' not working when in the 'safe zone' - could be improved. In general nothing too bad so far...manageable ...

Issues start, when you hit the basic problems, like for example, the tracker stops working (sarcasm).. ... right, you spent $300 & it just stops working, it happens you think, you contact customer support.

Usual , press this, press that, reset. Product still dead as Dodo and suddenly no updates, no comms. Got into too hard basket. Multiple emails sent, no.reponse.

You jump on FB, multiple forums, & you discover they have 'Australia wide connectivity issues with one of the roaming partners' as stated by their Customer Service Rep on one of the forums... pity it has not been communicated to their customers. ETA unknown, resolution unknown,.

So the only solution: tracker goes back to JB-HiFi - not fit for purpose ACL. Subscription- I hate being screwed- contacted Consumer protection in Austria (that's where they are based) to explore options of getting my pro rata refund on $219 subscription...

Another words, average product with below average - non existent customer service.

Extremely bad product. Stay clear of it. The first day i out it on my car I never got one notification of were she was,and by Lin chi time the battery was at 56%. Absolute joke. And for the subscription of $192 for a year,wat a joke guys. I will put up a pic of another I bought . No subscription needed as it uses other people's phones to find ur cat if they have the find my phone app,and ALOT cheaper and battery lasts months. Show details

Tractive double charges warning to users – Beware subscription plan always defaults to premium the website also retains your credit card so if you don’t renew they will auto renew for you. Luckily I used Amex as I have lodged a dispute this time for double charges!

Not fit for purpose – Plastic mounting that attached to collar broke on the 6th day. When I contacted the company it was oh well. You'll have to buy a silicon mount. Attempted to go further up the chain and threatened consumer affairs. 6 days is ridiculous. When it was forwarded to them by them. 2 months later.. Nothing. Worst service ever. Good brand collar but it has Sharp edges. I had to cut the corners off as he was scratching his neck literally to pieces. Device does not stay charged for longer than a day. Despite being advertised as up to 5 days. This is even when my cat is in the safe zone linked to Bluetooth 75 percent of the time. And the only time we use the live function is if we actually have to. Light is a good function. Sounds is pointless as you can't hear it at all. I get protecting the cat hearing but why have it on if the human can't hear it. If charged it does function well. I do like the well-being checker and msg if he goes to a no go zone. Product has potential. Lots to improve so i don't recommend.

Peace of mind for Chilli’s activities – Got this for my little cat who loves to roam about on our property .. I was alerted that she had left the safe zone and tracked her to across the busy road near our place. Couldn’t find her across the road or on it, but the tracker told me she had returned to the safe zone .. turns out she was using the stormwater tunnel under the road to get to… Read more

the other side and back. I reduced the safe zone and now it tells me whenever she approaches the tunnel. Put mesh across the entrance to the tunnel so she can’t get through it. I’m so impressed with this device, keeps track of Chilli perfectly and I always know where she is. The initial charge lasted 3 weeks and I was alerted when the charge got low. The device is a bit big for a small cat but Chilli soon got used to it and comes to me to put her collar on when she wants to go outside, doesn’t bother her at all. Would highly recommend.

clearly advertised as monthly payments; however, after opting in for the premium plan for 3 pets, the full price for all 5 years was charged upfront totaling over $1k. This was only revealed at the very end when finalizing the purchase where, even then, the total was advertised as "total value" not total due. No invoice or receipt with a price breakdown was sent to me, I had to dig to find it on my online profile. The invoice presented all charges, which were never conveyed during the transaction.

They do not have a listed customer service number, you will only be referred to their online Q&A's. Even then, you might not find what you're looking for as some of the policies are deeper in their website. You have to submit a support ticket to get anything done, where they will take up to 4 days or more to respond. I got more answers from strangers in Reddit.

month they are still telling me it’s a usage problem. They blame the Wifi which has been excellent for my work, they blame the roof which had been the same the whole time, they blame the location which has never been an issue at the beginning, they point the finger at anything and everything regardless of my screen shots, multiple test I had to go through and a whole month I am still waiting to have it replaced. It will happen, I will make sure of it even if I have to go to court for it but they make it very very hard!

 Follow-up  · I expected the GPS to function properly for at least a year, but it stopped working after just two months. The battery life was initially good, but only for a very short period. Customer service has been difficult, lengthy, and stressful, and the issue is still ongoing.

months, there is no explanation for it to all of a sudden start acting up and then stop completely despite reloading app, updating software, etc. Choice recommended this product and I am going to write to them to advise it is NOT reliable and NOT worth the money. I was relying on it, and now I have to find a new/different product because Tractive is useless in solving the problem. Don't buy it.

 Follow-up  · After about 3 weeks of being offline, the tracker finally came back online and has been working well. I really can't be without it so it is important that Tractive have NO network issues, or at least very rare and short. They have done the right thing and extended my annual subscription to recoup the down time.

I spent $600 on two trackers plus insurance for my two cats. This was the minimum payment on top of the initial purchase of the trackers. One collar lost after one week despite strongest setting. Grudgingly paid $25 delivery fee despite insurance payment. Just got a message from UPS that delivery of replacement will be six months . July 1 2026. Show details

Complete waste of nearly $400 -unit and subscription. Says the cat is 30m away when it's at your feet! Has the cat moving when you can see it sitting still. Says its miles away from where it actually is. Safe zones don't stay set. Gps is never up to date. Should have just bought an air tag and put on the cats collar. Show details

This product is completely faulty. Does not connect to network. Cannot locate GPS tracking and is the biggest waste of money you will ever spend. If it does work at all that might be for 5 minutes then it fails to connect. I have put in over 50 complaints for a refund and still they will not acknowledge me. worse tracking product /app I came acros. Tiles are close but at least no yearly charge.. Google map, Runkeeper, Garmin trackers, Life 360 are much superior to this tracker. As I cant find a good doggie tracker in Australia, I am "converting" an old phone into dog tracker. Alternativly but thats an expensive option, use tracking watch with e-sim.

Absolutely p*ss poor communication, predatory conduct, not obviously subscription based when you buy the product, product falls off the collar then p*ss poor help to retrieve the product.
