They refunded me at least – It's a scam. No doubt about it. I was quoted and charged $1 AUD for a VIN report, but my card was then charged $1 USD as well as a separate $30 USD (about $47 AUD) charge. On top of that the report they sent was blank and useless. I immediately emailed them demanding a refund, threatening that I'd dispute through my bank (which I already did and… Read more

cancelled my card). I received a few confusing emails but one said they would refund me and to expect a return in the next 8-10 business days. I didn't respond and I didn't expect to receive one and had written the money off. But lo and behold, about 3 weeks later, I have the money refunded. Shocked, annoyed still, but grateful. Sharing to encourage others to do the same if you've been ripped off.

Total Scam, bank account has been hacked by multiple different companies now – Had to cancel my card and block my bank account. These people seem to share your debit info with other scammers as well. Multiple charges from multiple companies after using this sight. Wish I had read some reviews

Scam! Be warned – Yes it's a simple scam. They say it costs only a dollar, then in small print say that includes membership at 29.95 every two weeks. That's $45 AUD. They stung me 3 times, plus a few small charges here and there for no reason. Around $150 later I noticed and stopped my card. No refund because I joined willingly. Feel pretty dumb but they are… Read more

serious scammers. The report is fake anyway. You get the same thing whether you put a real VIN or a fake. Also, there's no membership anyway - no website to access and no login details. Maybe we should all come up with scams like this...

Misleading and useless – Misleads you to believe you'll only pay $1, with $29 US charged every 2 weeks thereafter, but immediately also charges the $29 USD ($45 AUD). And they just give you a PDF saying "no problems reported" for things you don't even need to know, but nothing useful. No real info. Scam.

SCAM DO NOT USE – Don't do it! Once you give them your credit card number to pay the $1.00 advertised fee, they charge you $29.95! WHAT A BUNCH OF THIEVES! Then you gotta call your credit card company and dispute/have card reactivated! Plus the names they go by are all different. AND when you call in to complain they ask for your credit card # AGAIN! NO Way!

Advertised as $1 fee only, however they will keep charging ur account. The amount they charge also varies, starts off small form $1.46 then $36 then $7 plus since this is in the US ur bank will charge u international transaction fee.

Beware! Do not use – Appears to be ligit on the surface, with an Australian contact number, claiming to charge only $1 per history report. Monthly subscription of $24.95 is mentioned in addition to this, but the initial report is advertised as ONLY $1 as a one off fee. However 3 separate transactions appeared on my credit card, in USD originating in Miami, FL,… Read more

amounting to almost $50 AUD. I used their online chat function to request a refund but am not holding out any hope in receiving it! The report itself was also useless and untrustworthy.

DAMN. Wish I'd read the reviews. SCAM – Damn. So naive. It's absolutely a scam to get all your information. They'll end up with your full name, address, credit card, email, registration number and car details... Just about everything they need for identity theft. Luckily they only debited $1.47 from my account and then asked for my address, email etc and I realized it was a scam and didn't provide the information. Immediately canceled my card and had it reissued.

Scam! – This is a scam. If you've had a payment taken out of your account, contact your bank immediately. No point in calling them as the automated refund system doesn't work. The report gave me no information at all and website says nothing about recurring payments until you've paid!

Scammers – This company offers one-time payments to obtain data regarding vehicle history, in my case they had absolutely no information on my vehicle but, of cours, they don't tell you that until you've paid them their paltry $1 fee. What they also don't tell you is that by handing over your card details you are, in fact, "subscribing" to their service… Read more

which costs you around $40-45AUD per month, the amount is variable which should be further proof of their fraudulent nature. As you might expect they do not send you an email confirming your subscription, nor do they require you to make an account. Hard to see how you could subscribe to a service without having an account with said service. Deceptively they use location accurate phone numbers, in my case the contact number listed is an Australian mobile number, despite the company being based in New York. In addition to this deception, they proudly advertise a no-fuss refund service, which, yep, does not work. AVOID.

SCAM ALERT – Scam alert. My bank notified me $1 was charged then the website tried to take an additional $29 payment which my bank declined. Do not use. These are scammers.

Scam beware – I was sucked in to FREE VIN check, then asked for bank details to deduct $1.00. I did not get an email report so transferred my money to another account, cancelled the debit card and ordered a new card. No money has been taken from my account, not even the initial $1.00. He who hesitayes loses.

CALL YOUR BANK IMMEDIATELY – I did the $1 vin check 2 days ago, and it was charged in USD. Then, it charged me for a few times. It ended up AUD$55 in total. the transactions names include JAMMIN ENTERPRISES/ TRACK THE GENE/ TRACKTHEVIN. I called my bank immediately, and the bank (ING) didn’t ask the details of the transactions but promised will return the money to my account.… Read more

The bank cancelled/replaced my debit card. So, CALL YOUR BANK immediately instead of talking to the scammers.

Perfect Scammers!!! – Came to this website for $1 vin check. Turns out the charge me $25 for some yearly subscription without my permission. They charge in USD, so the charges are more in AUD.!! Chat with them immediately, they send me a mail with refund authorised mail, but after 2 months, still haven't refunded my money.

This is a SCAM – A $1 VIN lookup is charged as $1 US, then they also charge US$24.95. After two months, they then charged a monthly amount up to $29.95. Just realised they've fleeced me for $430! Strange that ING hasn't flagged the scam as it's obvious it's been going on for at least a year going by these reviews.

Scammers – I fell for the $1 Vin check. Noticed random amounts being taken out of my account for a few months. Went to my bank and was given a full refund on the spot and these guys have been flagged.

Free rego check is a lie – They say free rego check but after you enter the rego number they take you to a payment page. It's only $1 but they then have your credit card details and will then keep debiting your card.

Seems Very Scammy – Like others I payed for a $1 vin check for a car for my partner. Now maybe 3 months since the check I found an amount of $30 charged to my account. God knows if there were more charges I don't go through my statements with a comb all the time. I have contacted their customer support and am waiting for them to action the refund. Protip the charge… Read more

SCAM! – Website advertises $1/vin history report, only for you to type in your card details and realise later it is a SCAM. First they take only $1 from your account and straight after that another $20-30. Asked for the "membership" (that I never wanted) to be cancelled but instead they kept changing me random amounts every week or so. Had to cancel my card as there is no way you can get in touch with one of them.

Scam with criminal intent – There is no rating appropriate for criminal activity of this type. Report is false to start with. It just says no to all points in every report. It is supposed to be free, then they charge $1, then they take another $30 then another $40 a month later in US Dollars. I see they have never replied to the many complaints made. I don't know if any one has phoned their phone number provided, however it is highly unlikely to have any affect.

no good guys – scam scam scam.....do a ppsr.gov.au check for a secure report on an Australian Government site. I would think even the rubbish that VHG send you is all crap as they would not have access to the Australian databases for checks.
