Bad product and bad service – Purchased this bloody fridge thinking I was buying a top brand product 2 months after warranty expired the fridge started to have problem with its temperature, had to pay $185 call out service fee to be told the fridge had a gas leak and couldn’t be repaired. fault product Customer service lady was hopeless, rude and didn’t offer anything, advices me to spend extra 700/800 dollars to get fridge taken away for 14 days and they can’t even guarantee could be fixed (but she specified we still had to pay their hourly rate, pick up and drop off fee) AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PRODUCT I’ve called my bank and raised a chargeback and got my money back. If you fall into the same scam raise a chargeback with your bank!

Vintec v40DG2e junk – Purchased as part of a kitchen upgrade. Started loosing temperature and paid $200 for a service technician to come out and tell me it would need major repair at approx $700/800 cost. Not worth repairing a unit that’s 7 to 8 years old. Will not be buying a new Vintec replacement. Show details

Not recommended. Has stopped working after five years – Our Vintech fridge is a 2016 model and just before Christmas stopped cooling. Even though the temp has been set at 17degrees for its working life, it is now sitting at 27 degrees, warmer than the ambient temperature in our house. I have tried the self-reset but the unit just won't cool. I have read elsewhere this is a common problem with Vintech… Read more

units, which is very disappointing as they're the industry standard. They only come with a 2-year warranty. That's pretty pathetic for an appliance that is not what I would call cheap. I would not recommend this product at all.

Great Service from Electrolux/Vintec – My Vintec stopped cooling. It was 2 years old and just out of warranty. Electrolux/Vintec sent a service technician out who confirmed that the gas has leaked. Although just out of warranty, the fridge was replaced with a new one. This is what customer service should be. Show details

Cool wine chiller – The wine chiller is easy to use and looks great in the kitchen- my husband likes the blue interior light- which can be turned off, also. Makes afew noises, as all fridges do. Maintains correct temperatures. Handy having the 2 different temperature zones for reds and whites. Good having the option of locking it when kids are about!  Show details

Likely to fail after warranty – Hi, I have a v40sge wine fridge which stopped cooling (stays around 22 which is closer to room temperature). Bought Vintec under the impression that they were the best. Research seems to show this is a very common issue after warranty is passed. I just cant recommend based on my experience. Will pursue repair (research shows they… Read more

generally cant be repaired / re-gassed etc. to add insult to injury - with total repurchase the only option usually provided).

A 'disposable' wine fridge at this price is just unacceptable.

If you value your wine collection DON'T buy this fridge – I purchased this Vintec wine fridge just on 3 years ago (Only has a 2 year warranty) for the long term cellaring of valuable wine (which is what it is advertised to do). I'm not sure what Vintec class as long term, but about 4 months ago the top zone started increasing in temperature. A month later the bottom zone also started increasing. I… Read more

called Vintec and as they only offer a 2 year warranty I had to pay $180 for a service call. After the inspection their service person said there was a GAS LEAK, which was NOT FIXABLE, and in his opinion Vintec should replace the fridge free of charge. Note that a Gas leak is a fault in the product and can be dangerous to your health.

Over the last month, I have been going back and forth with Vintec trying to gain replacement fridge. They have been difficult to deal with, and have advised their best offer is for me to pay $450 on top of the $180 service call, to replace their FAULTY WINE FRIDGE. To add to this I have $2000 worth of wine sitting outside of the right environment due to Vintec's faulty fridge, and it is now compromised.

In their email Vintec advised that in their opinion $450 to replace their faulty fridge + $180 for their service person to inspect their faulty fridge, was fair for me to pay. That also covers the damage to the wine ($2000) that their product is meant to protect. Add to this the original price for this fridge (which isn't cheap), and this three year old fridge is absolutely terrible value and is definitely not the premium product they advertise.

If you search product review (like I have now), you will find that gas leaks in Vintec fridges are a common and known issue. Yet they refuse to take responsibility for their faulty product. If you value your wine (like I do), 1st ask yourself how long you expect a fridge to last? and then DO NOT BUY A VINTEC FRIDGE.

Very disssapointed - thought I was buying the best ! – Purchased, only worked for one year. After trying to get someone to help me in Vintec I gave up and it sat in my garage. I have have just paid someone to come and check it and $180.00 later (and 10 mins) to tell me the computer within is dead, your looking at $500.00 or more. Reading other comments something is wrong with this product. Disappointed as I was told this is the best brand to buy. Show details

absolute rubbish – I first purchased a pair of Vintec fridges , a beverage center and a wine cabinet late in 2008 They both broke down and were not able to be repaired, so were replaced in 2013, through Vintec at a discounted price, as they were only just over 4 years old after installation We now have another issue, the wine fridge we believe has lost its gas… Read more

and is irreparable ,so here we go again. You would think that a product that has been marketed as the best, via major retailers ,only lasts 7 or 8 years

The fridges are a matching pair so where to from here as I am worried now that the beverage center will fail as well soon

I don't mind paying for a good product , but I hate paying for rubbish

Any suggestions on a solution ?

Expensive fridge for 2-3 years of service – The fridge hasn't cooled below 13 degrees for a few years and I finally got someone out to look at it. Losing gas and the cost to fix is likely to be in the $1k vicinity. Pretty poor for a $2k fridge. $155 service call and still have a broken fridge. The product quality is disappointing. Service man said that his boss would call me, but nothing yet over a week later.  Show details

Can't Believe It – My Vintec wine fridge is 4 1/2 years old. Second Vintec to fail – We purchased our Vintec wine fridge 26 months ago and it died last night. It looks like it is leaking gas , which is also what happened to the last 2 Vintec wine fridges that we purchased. At $1800 , just over 2 years use is not acceptable. Sub-standard Product and Customer Service – We had a fridge that was only 3 years old and another that was 6 years. Both had the same issue - wouldn't keep temperature. problem as everyone else - compressor and evaporator need repair at $800 each fridge plus labour, with the advice to ring Electrolux for a pro rata offer for new fridges. We duly rang and eventually accepted their offer of $650 to replace the older fridge and $450 to replace the newer one. None of these conversations alerted us to the fact that it was actually a trade-in deal and they required the old fridges as part of the deal. As this was over the Christmas break, my husband actually disposed of the old fridges. It was only when we rang to organise delivery of the new fridges that the trade-in aspect was mentioned. On being told we no longer had the fridges, Electrolux then more than doubled the replacement price and added a delivery fee!! My husband told them to forget their deal, and we would get our fridges elsewhere.

gas leak; not repairable – We decided to buy an expensive "quality" wine fridge, to avoid potential problems. What a bad decision! Ours has stopped working altogether, due to the gas leaking out. Overpriced, unreliable, poor performance – The V40 has never kept our wine at a consistent temperature and after 3 years, it’s failed completely. If I had paid $300 maybe I might expect that, but these 40 bottle Vintec are over $1500 and for that I expect MUCH better. Avoid Vintec. Their warranty is absurdly short, and therefore even they don’t trust their products to be reliable.  Show details

Worked well - until it didn’t – I had the same issue with my Vintec - worked great until about 2 1/2 years old then won’t stay at temperature. Think it’s The compressor and tried to repair it myself but no luck - probably needs a new compressor. Expected more for the money. Perhaps a different fridge with thermo electric instead of compressor might be the answer.  Show details

Planned obsolescence at it's finest – Like many posters on here my Vintec has now popped up to 26 degrees from the 18 degree set point virtually to the day of the 2 year anniversary of purchase date so, of course, probably out of warranty. has purchased Vintec. It's a real pain trying to contact them. Having to go through all the prompts etc. I was trying to contact them to find an authorised repairer (normal electrician/refrigeration specialists) do not want to go anywhere near them. The closest repairer to us is 40 minutes away and only visits our area once a week - which is the day that I work. I rang several refrigeration specialists and electricians and the minute I said it was a Vintec - they were not interested. One man told me it is a nightmare to try to get parts for them too.

Same Same – Same problem as all the others here.just stopped getting cold. Vintec service charge $165 to find all the gas had leaked out and it would cost $750 to fix . Unit was just over 2 years old and out of warranty. I have a 20 year old bear fridge that still has the same gas . The Vintec unit is obviously not what you pay for.
