Credit Card Cloned – Well done Westpac! I had my credit card cloned a couple of weeks ago. I called Westpac and they lodged an inquiry and kept me informed throughout the process. Needless to say, they credited my credit card within 5 working days. I am very happy with the professionalism of the bank. #greatbank quick, professional, constant communication, delivered on their promise

Good – Good all round card when linked to mortgage. If it only had rewards linked to it i would be very happy. High credit limit. No annual fee when linked to a mortgage account which we have. Bonus of travel insurance. 55 days interest free if needed. Annual fee is a little high if you don't have a linked mortgage account. Interest rate is high if… Read more

you don't pay it off completely every month. Luckily our policy is to pay it off and there has only been once where this hasn't happened so we have avoided the interest for the most part. No rewards points linked to this account which i enjoyed having when i had a card through the commonwealth bank.

Good – It is a reasonable card and if you loose it you are covered if anyone finds it and tries to spend money on it which is always a very good thing. I like that it is available as a visa and mastercard giving you options and preference. I like that it has a reasonable interest rate and recently I went overseas and I was booking my holiday and when I… Read more

went to pay the lady told me not to worry about travel insureance when she saw my card so it saved my $152 there and then. That it is with westpac because I don't particuarly like their telephone banking and customer service.

Good – Good all rounder. 55 days interest free is a really useful period of time to pay off the card each month. No annual fee if you have a mortgage with them. No points on the Gold Master card.

Good – This is the only credit card I've used, so I'm not in the best position to compare, but I would recommend using it, especially if you're considering going travelling in the near future. If you're going away and you purchase flights on the credit card, you don't need to pay the extra for travel insurance, because it's covered by the card. … Read more

While that may not seem like it's worth the higher annual fees, if you do any travelling while using the card, it will pay itself off very quickly. High credit limit.

No problems with having it accepted when overseas.

Good customer support. Reasonably high annual fee.

Bad – untill change that required amex card as well as visa card this was a very good card to have and use, the transfer of points to Qantas was a pain but OK. On Australia Day 2007 we spent the weekend in Perth and found that almost without exception that retailers ETC wouldn't have abar of the amex card so we had to use the visa. We have since got a… Read more

Citibank Gold Visa and the points system is far superior to Westpac's and you only need the one card so we have closed the Westpac one and only have Citibank, why do banks insist on change for change sake as it only irritates the customer who don't want a plehtora of cards to achieve the same result that was previously enjoyed by a single card wake up Westpac. The visa part was good, as was the travel insurance. Westpac (in their wisdom ) sometime ago slashed the points you could earn on frequent flyers in half but offered an amex card in conjunction with the visa card that allowed the previous points to apply if amex card was used.
