Very unpleasant – The Sydney branch is a disgrace. I needed help with my Linux system. The young employees of that company who I have used in the past have been great and very polite but they don't seem to last long in this organisation and when I spoke with the "Owner", I can see why. He was not interested in home office/residential users and he was rude, arrogant, self-important, quoted a high hourly rate and then just hung up on me.

I know Linux OS is not the usual for home offices but I used it in the past when I operated a business for 20 years and will continue to use this platform. Unfortunately, there are limited Linux techs available to home users and, of those that are, not all of them are competent to an expert degree. I will keep looking but I will never recommend that company whilst that "owner" or franchisee or whatever he is, remains at the helm. I am sure if you are a tech person you might have had a different response but if we were all techs we wouldn't need these services. I use my computer as a work tool and am not interested in any add ons.

I understand that a lot of technicians on help desks do have difficulties with luddites and there must be some really unpleasant people out there and I sympathise with the techs. I was not one of those people. However, if you offer a particular service and then are pretentious about whom you will deign to work with then, I say, get over yourself because you are not that important AND be honest about the services you offer.

Web designers do a great job for companies - just don't believe all the web page blurb they put on there. I give this Sydney office zero stars.

We do not offer services for home office or residential users, which is likely why the conversation did not go well. While you mentioned having used our younger technicians in the past, we have no record of any actual work ever having been completed for you. Our Linux support rates are intentionally set at a premium because experienced, expert-level Linux technicians are very difficult to find and retain. This allows us to maintain the high level of specialised enterprise support that our business clients expect and rely on. If the call left you feeling dismissed and frustrated. That was never our intention, and your feedback has been noted. We will use it to ensure our team communicates our service scope more clearly upfront in the future.Thank you again for your honesty. Thank you for your response. I have used White IT twice in the past under a different profile at the time. The question of fees was never raised nor was it ever an issue. My main complaint was the disgraceful manner in which the man spoke to me. As I said, my former company used Linux for over 20 years. I know very well that it is a specialised field but I will not change it. I have since found a polite and expert level technician should I require his services again in the future. Arrogance serves no one well, no matter the industry, and that applies to It technicians as well, Linux or otherwise. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
