Wine Selectors

The wine was, on average, fairly decent, with the occasional bottle that was genuinely good. The customer service, however, was abysmal. The staff on the phone were rude—pushy, aggressive, and at times condescending. It also feels as though the service is made deliberately difficult to cancel.

received a delivery notice that there was wine on the way, and I couldn't work out how it was being charged. Before my MC had expired, I had previously used an Amex, but I had updated my payment to be the MC card. It turned out that Wine Selectors had been able to use an expired Amex to charge me, the same card that had been superseded by the MC. I have called, and I have emailed and after 4 days two people got back to me. A bit of an issue if they have so many 'issues' it takes 4 days for a specialist to get back to me. No explanation as to how they let their system charges an expired credit card (it apparently must happen often, as the first person wanted to call out the banks for them letting this happen. It is disgusting and illegal behaviour. At no point did anyone offer a refund. And apparently they are going to get someone to get back to me once they can guarantee they have closed this gap....I wait with bated breath. I have now waited for almost 2 weeks to find out how they are going to improve their systems and/or processes to ensure this does not happen to anyone else. This is what I asked of both people I spoke to, and it appears that they will not fix this process/system.

Rude and insulting customer service makes the wines on offer not worth the effort. Removed]" promised to send me a link to update the card. The link never arrived. Instead, I was sent a "letter of demand" from a debt collector. Terrible shame as the wine is actually quite good and for years this has been a convenient service. But treating customers with distain is a deal-breaker for me. UPDATE: Instead of trying to resolve the matter or offer an apology, Wine Selectors ("[Name Removed]") sent me a rude email. A decade of loyal custom on my part apparently counts for nothing, what a warped perspective Wine Selectors has of "customer service."

Terrible when you try to cancel – Great at first but terrible if you want to cancel. I have no issues with the deliveries. They were fine. Got another delivery notification I didn’t ask for. Requested to cancel again. Thought it was cancelled. Received multiple calls trying to sell me more wine. Told them I’ve stopped drinking wine for health reasons, have 6 unopened cases of it and don’t need anymore.

Yesterday received another delivery notification. Emailed to cancel. Was told it was on hold while I have to wait for a customer service person to call… no doubt to convince me to not cancel.

That’s the last straw. Absolutely disgraceful sales tactic and will never deal with them again.

5star minus 5 points! – On arrival I was clearly recognised through my booking as a person with gluten free diet! I was sat at a table and my GF bread and excellent EVOO arrived with it but NO BUTTER, everyone else was served with warm Turkish bread with choice of butter or olive oil! seemed very much as gluten free menu for most parts! As being a chef myself I couldn’t find a meal that should for any reason contain a flour/ gluten! But it was a different story when the cheese plate was served! Obviously some waiters forget the fact that I was GF and serve me a regular serve of cheese plate with a lavosh bread! I asked if the serve was GF, but was told “ not sure” “will need to find out”! 10 Minutes later they removed my plate and within minutes delivered the same one without the crackers on it! The plate was obviously contaminated as already with the gluten! Never mind. But how would one eat a cheese plate without a cracker? 3 pieces of cheese, condiments, but nothing to put it on! I asked twice for some rice cracker, they cost 99 cents in most supermarkets, but to no avail! At the end the chef quickly heated one of the GF rolls from entree , cut it into pieces and served it along my cheese plate! All saved! The whole dinner with all those wines and all of those speakers, was absolutely amazing! And yet those little issues were the reason I couldn’t give you 100%! region, grape variety, vineyard, maker, wine - food matches etc. The booklets about the regions make for great reading. I’ve had the opportunity to try many wines that I wouldn’t usually have been able to purchase elsewhere. Another fantastic plus is the $30 birthday voucher. The estimated delivery date and email / texts allow me to know exactly when packages will be received. I would encourage all wine lovers to seriously consider membership. You won’t be disappointed whether you are looking for top value red, white or mixed packs, half or full dozen cases, or single bottles. Added benefits are the regular e news and a wide variety of competitions.

Wonderful cheeses and great wines that we are promoting Australian cheeses . The wines were excellent. I have not had champagne with cheese before and I thought it really brought out the flavours of the blue cheeses - very interesting! By the way: We always have cheese BEFORE our meals!! I put my account on hold then out of the blue they started sending wine again. I emailed them about it and nothing in response. I’ve sent a firmer email this time and will report them to ACCC if they do not sort this out!!!

Unsolicited calls even after I fought a lot and have email confirmation that my data has been deleted. Worst business ever, I regret every cent I spent with this product because of the marketing harassment I’m going through

Cheese and Wine Masterclass - Good but couple of improvements could have made it better! – I had a lovely time with great range of wine and cheese. Suggest a couple of improvements: - Bigger slices of cheese - Cheese to be accompanied by some lavosh would have been great - I would have been happy with reducing number of cheeses to try and giving us some time back to have a few breaks and chat amongst ourselves. wine selectors to tell them I wouldn’t be paying for something I didn’t ask for and that had been left out in the sun in the same spot they left it so they could come pick it up I wasn’t paying for their error, I again received no response until I started receiving threatening letters from debt collectors!

Worst customer service and very average wine selections – If I could give zero stars I would. Very average wine and the worst customer experience I have ever had to endure, incredibly rude.

Don't do it – Absolutely abysmal. My wife and I tried some sample wines at an event and signed up based on these tastings. The wines we received at home, and tasted so far (Tomich Hill pinot noir, L'artiste Tumbarumba pinot noir, the Lane sauvignon blanc) were absolutely diabolical. Valrhona and wine pairing – Thoroughly enjoyed this quirky event. Learnt more about chocolate than wine. Very diverse wines and chocolates to try. There was a lot going on with wine tasting, chocolate tasting and then pairing the various wines. cancelling and gave my opinion. Yes - you may believe that trying to retain membership is best for your customers, and I may disagree. There is no reason to argue that you are correct and I am wrong.

A great way to experience a wide range of wines with confidence – I have been a customer for probably twenty years. The real joy is in never having a failure - all the wine has been a pleasure c some has been excellent value. Some wine worked out no cheaper than a discount bottle shop but others are excellent value. So when you buy a mixed dozen, you know that overall it is pretty good value. Great to be… Read more ·  1

But the best thing is the wide range of wines to which you are exposed and which you would never otherwise stumble upon. It's like having a team of experts to sort through all the candidates and provide you with a shortlist containing only worthy applicants.

Coonawarra Dinner in Melbourne – What a great night. Bringing Coonawarra vignerons to Melbourne for an evening of Radis Estate, Zema, Rymill and Jim Brand wines matched with excellent food at Matilda’s Restaurant. Refuse to cancel membership – We have been trying to cancel our membership since the start of the year however continue to receive 3 monthly deliveries. We had finally had enough of the terrible service and demanded our most recent delivery be refunded. was over a month ago and they are still giving us excuses and refusing to give our money back. We now have an unopened case of wine which we are happy for them to collect and refund. It had been a good service before this point, but I'm extremely disappointed at the absolute lack of any customer service.

Buying wine with 100% confidence in the quality of the wines I receive – I have been a Wine Selectors member for over 20 years, and I am yet to be disappointed in the wine I receive. I receive a box of mixed white wine every few months, and it is so easy. I am a bit picky with my red wine varietals and Wine Selectors were able to set up a customised box for me that I receive once a year, great customer service. Show reply

Part of my Enjoyment of each day – I trust the judgement of the selectors who have tasted and chosen the best wine Australia provides. I have not been disappointed with any bottle, but only delighted with the range of different styles from many wineries. I enjoy the enhancement each bottle makes to my meals.
