Youi’s boat insurance claimed they don’t cover any power boat length greater than 12M. However during long quote process they just simply turned down most of the boats even at 8 or 9M after thousands of questions they asked from you after a few weeks waiting… what a waste of time… I do understand that Youi wants the max profit while lowest risk… Read more

for their boat insurance business. However considering the actual Australian local boating situations, I’d strongly suggest Youi shall consider expanding their boat policy coverage for all Paddling boards and swimming noodles, as those covering policy will bring the highest profit while lowest risk in this country.

My experience with Youi is similar as majority reviews below.... Absolutely terrible. Don't insure your prized possession unless you want to battle to have your claim settled. Ive had the misfortune of having to make a few claims over the years with different companies and Youi Marine is 110% the worst to deal with.

After insuring my 34ft boat with Youi I would suggest seriously to look elsewhere, as they tried everything to prove my claim false, causing much anxiety and stress and it took the threat of legal action and months of arguing for them to finally pay what was rightfully deserved. I was not deserving of that treatment ( which by the way was only around 30k ) they were abusing and bullying in my mind that’s how it felt and to this day I feel I should have proceeded with a claim against their actions as it was unfair , unreasonable and wrong ‘

Insurance sales person, Craig was a great guy to do business with, confident and assertive. If the claims department carries on the same standard I will be over the moon. Time may tell but for now very happy.

support people and keeping you on the phone for 20 mins as a ploy to make you just accept the insurance because you have already wasted 20mins on the phone - UNETHICAL, SCAM SALES TECHNIQUE

Shocking behaviour – Sadly I can’t say anything nice about my Youi boat insurance policy because I have to pay to replace half of my claim as a optimistic person stole my rods from the boat whilst at the ramp when helping others. As one item the thieves took they had to remove a pin so that’s covered but nothing else. Will not renewing any of my 7 policies. Nit picking at what they cover. Sadly

Expensive – I give 2 stars because I gave Youi 2 chances to cover my boat. I have 3 policies with Youi and really hoped they would look after me with my boat insurance but they are more than double of any other quotes I have received. Really disappointing. I must add the girls I spoke with deserve 5 stars, they were helpful and very easy to speak with. I may be looking elsewhere for my other insurances but it takes so much time.

Youi comprehensive boat insurance – I justgot a quote for comprehensive boat insurance after all the stupid questions they then go on to tell me if you make a claim you must have a copy of an out of water survey no less then 3yrs old to make your claim I wonder how many people have been caught out with this because you don't need a survey to get the insurance in the first place.

Tried to insure my boat – They have no idea what they are doing, the person on the end of the phone just kept asking the most ridiculous questions, ended up hanging up. I do have a tinnie insured with them that I will now cancel after that debacle

Ridiculous - Robots – I commenced an online quote enquiry and after they garnered my personal details the online portal advised that I couldn't continue and that a operator would call me to complete the quote. is the most arduous and frustrating quotation I have ever received from an insurer. I think I actually dodged a bullet based on the negative reviews I have now read regarding the scruples of this insurer. After question 29 I just hung up on Tom but before doing so I said that what happened to just getting the basics like other insurers and giving me a bloody quote and if I like it you can get war and peace from me thereafter. Whoever devised this process of customer service have another crack at it chief because your system is moronic. I asked the CS fella Tom to forward the recorded call to the executive so they could understand the weight of frustration involved in there method. Tom said would I like to submit a complaint. I said 'No' Id like to submit some advice...stop wasting everyone's time. Bloody hell these people are robots!

Terrible, I can not recommend Youi for marine boat insurance – I have held marine boat insurance for about 40 years with no claims of any kind. I decided to try Youi when purchasing a used boat after a break from boating for a few years even though they were not the most competitive premium. my control during professional marine transport and when I lodged a claim they put me through so many hoops, I eventually gave up and cancelled my policy and insured with Suncorp which was a lot cheaper who I believe would have looked after the claim with no issues. Youi insurance probably spent more than the claim amount in trying to avoid looking after what was a very valid and honest claim. Very disappointed and Youi will never ever have me as a customer again. You don't know how good or bad they are until you have a claim and I can honestly say they were very unhelpful at a distressing time for me.

Too expensive – My first claim and my excess is $2000, when I told the person at the boat yard it was $2000 they were amazed at how expensive my premium of $91 a month is with such a high excess. I phoned a boat insurance company and for the same cover they were $57 a month and $500 excess with Club Marine. Please do your research Youi is way over priced in this market.

Unbelievable. They just don’t want the business! – I made my enquire for a quote online. After going through all the customary questions I was not given a quote. answered. I was a bit annoyed but proceeded. Then the questions were largely unanswerable. E.g. “what is the age , including date of birth of the youngest person who will ever drive this boat?” After we agreed that I could not possibly know this, it was agreed that I just make something up. There were several other irrelevant questions of this nature. Finally it came to the quote. I think the sales lady was a little embarrassed to tell me as she prefaced, “This is coming in a little more than I had expected.” The price she gave for YOUI was seven times that of my nearest competitive quote. After nearly thirty minutes on the phone and 20 minutes on line, I found that YOUI are not really interested. I will never again waste my time with YOUI on this or any other insurance

Don’t use for boat insurance – Took over half an hour to answer all questions only to be told that it couldn’t be insured with no explanation as why. Sailboat moored on club mooring with out of water survey done. New rigging and all safety gear.

113% Increase in 4 years. Avoid like the plague – No claims, two boats insured with them, boats maintained to a high level. Premium started at $861 and went to $1838 over the 4 year period. YOUI bought the business and then decided it got a little too expensive for them with those pesky boat owners making claims. Deceitful and disgraceful. Never again!

Its a must have situation – The team member was pleasant, easy to communicate with and if unsure checked each time to provide the answers when asked. I have had a previous policy so the rate was more than fair.

The lady that gave me the quote was very polite and a lovely person, its nothing to do with her as she doesn't make the rules, it is the company rules and policies that is wrong and distressing.

Because of today I will now be looking for other insurance companies to get quotes and policies etc.

Starts of cheap then the premiums escalate – I have been with Youi for one year on a previous boat and now 3 years with our current S&S Defiance 30. For our 2016-17 coverage we paid $780 for comprehensive, then for 2017-8 it jumped to $930, our excess was increased by $100 and the insurance value of our boat has dropped from our first year to third year by $600. review regarding this I assume I'll know what their response will be, and I am not impressed by it. These amounts are changed without highlighting them to you first, although I suspect that is standard across the industry. I am also unsure what circumstances have warranted the significant increase in premium, and the increase in excess as we have yet to make a claim. Perhaps Youi, you should tell us why, specifically not generically, our premium and excess is being increased when you send out that email prior to the automatic renewal. Then we can decide if your price hike is warranted. It is a bit disappointing as I have veered many a boat owners towards Youi over the last couple of years. I won't be anymore and I will be changing companies.

Cheap joining insurance price for my yacht, and then they tried to slip in large price increases in following years – My yacht is 37 feet long and moored in a marina. I am in my mid 30s in age. Been a boat owner for 17 years or thereabouts. Experienced sailor and sailed half around the world. as a convenience to me, they will direct debit the new premium shortly. When I rang to cancel, they are going to "look" into reducing my premium. In the end, the reduction offered was about $5 for the year. I’ll let the readers make their own conclusions.

highly incorrect, infact I have reports and paperwork previous to the incident stating that bildge pumps were used and a water test was conducted on the vessel! Not to mention our boat was tampered with whilst is the youi assessor's care and is missing expensive and vital parts!!! We have put in all our hard earned money into this boat but thinking we have peace of mind having comprehensive insured with Youi, in actual fact this company has caused our family so much distress and anxiety. The only time they were prompt was collecting their premium payments!!! :/

Boat insurance – Very good cover. Did not shop around. Excellent customer service experience. Being an existing customer assisted with preliminary data required. Efficient and friendly customer service staff member. I would recommend YOUI to family and friends.

Best Value boat insurance – After a long search Youi was by far the cheapest and easiest way to get insurance for my little boat. It was all done in about 10mins. The other companies just made it difficult or were not interested in insuring my boat at all. At Youi i had a choice of cover and at the best price. Next is to check out a price to insure my Bike.

Still waiting for a call back from the sales person. Been a week. Had to speak to the underwriter and that the last I heard. Guess they don't want the business.

Complete waste of time. My $5500 minn kota was stolen and after their mark down and excess I was going to get $599 to replace it. What's joke.
