However, Zip completely omitted the real costs during that initial phone call to secure my sign-up. This is a deliberate tactic: they rely on an intentionally overwhelming volume of digital paperwork so that everyday people cannot read through it all, burying the trap where no one can easily see it.
I discovered the shocking reality of how they stack up hidden charges. On top of my regular monthly payment of $230, they are charging me an extra $37 in interest PLUS an additional $10 monthly account fee. This means I am being forced to pay nearly $50 extra every single month on top of my agreed payment. While I was aware of the standard $10 monthly fee, I was strictly assured that interest would only apply as a penalty if I missed a payment. Instead, they are charging me massive interest even though I pay perfectly on time every single month.
To make matters worse, their customer service is a nightmare. Their automated system claims a standard 15-minute wait, but I was forced to wait on the line for exactly 38 minutes just to get a human to answer, not including the lengthy conversation that followed just to be completely dismissed.
When confronted via email, their resolution team hid behind the "fine print" and completely ignored the fact that their representative misled me over the phone. They even tried to quiet me down by offering a mere $100 goodwill credit to sweep this under the rug, which I accepted strictly under protest, but it does not cover the ongoing financial damage caused by their lack of transparency.
Hiding life-altering interest fees and monthly account fees in walls of text while omitting the truth on sales calls is an absolute ethical failure. Furthermore, this crucial information about extra fees, high commissions, and ongoing monthly charges is nowhere to be clearly found in their public marketing, their mobile applications, or their website—all of which I audited thoroughly before making my initial call.
The actual breakdown of this trap is buried at the very bottom of a welcome email in a font so incredibly small that it is barely readable and nearly impossible to understand. They write it in a highly manipulative and confusing way so that people believe that if they pay on time, they will not face interest fees. The dark reality is that even if you pay flawlessly on time every single month, they will still stack up and charge you these massive interest fees regardless.
If Zip’s management and executive team want to prove they have any corporate integrity left, they need to acknowledge the deceptive design of their documentation and waive these unfair interest charges and fees immediately.
Until then, I will not only ensure this specific review stays highly visible across all Australian consumer platforms, but I will also continuously post additional reviews and comments across different forums and social networks to make sure the public remains fully informed about how this company operates.

We received no email, no SMS, no warning of any kind. Even after checking spam folders, there was definitely no notification. When we raised this with customer service, they claimed a message was sent, but that simply wasn’t the case.
This wasn’t our first serious problem with Zip Pay. Our account was hacked previously and $2,000 was stolen. It took months for Zip Pay to investigate and return the funds. Their customer service repeatedly promised call-backs and updates that never happened. We lost so much time chasing them just to fix their own security issue.
After years as a customer, we feel punished for something outside our control, offered no transparency, and left to deal with deceptive fees and horrible support.
There are far better and safer options out there — do not trust Zip Pay with your money.

It's still a great way to have extra money in your account as I said before! Over the time I made the last review not much has changed, but I will say you must pay as much as you can! and just rember that the money is still there for you to use!! In some way it's like a saving account, you still can use the money as always. All you do if you need to pay anything that doesn't use zip is use the virtual card and that will make a credit car numbers and and the date and security code for you very easy.
