bought Travel insurance in complete good faith from Zurich Insurance in particular I checked that it covered circumstances when I had to cancel my holiday. Zurich assured me the policy covered this eventuality. I booked a holiday, shortly before going on holiday I was diagnosed with a serious illness and had to cancel my holiday. Zurich Insurance refused to pay out even though it was clearly covered.

multiple follow-ups, they still haven’t processed the refund. I’ve effectively paid their fees twice. Their lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. I would strongly recommend staying away from Zurich.
A total lack of transparency. Unless you ask the question they will not give you any explanation or information. If you incept any policy with them you are throwing your money away and they could not care less about their customers. It’s like they set a trap and are very proud if they trap you!

Completely broken service. Waiting 2+ Months just to get a new quote to increase coverage – Once you've signed up with them, getting anything done or changed is next to impossible. get even transport costs even know I can’t source locally. The solicitor involved and still nothing. So now internal complaint and Australian financial complaint lodged. The whole process when the car that hit me ran a red light, was vicariously liable and claim their company changes lives for the better . Difficult to get an initial payment from after the waiting period. Ongoing payments required prompting by lawyer, always sending through ongoing claim paperwork, they appear to not like paying the insurance and there was a feeling of pressure to 'hurry up and return to work'. caused the accident from the outset and also informed the police who attended the accident that they were at fault. This driver has received a infringement notice from the police for his negligent actions. Following the accident Zurich took 6 days to provide their policy number to their client which they provided to me. I have emailed Zurich Insurance about my claim quoting the policy number and attempted to speak to someone at Zurich regarding my claim. Zurich did not call me or reply to my emails. After two weeks through my persistence I eventually learnt that Zurich has denied my claim stating that I was at fault and that I caused the incident but they will review this matter ( a misrepresentation of the truth and a delaying tactic) Due to this I have responded with as very damning email to Zurich. I currently have lost my car and the bills directly and indirectly relative to his accident are building up. I will not stop pursuing this through Zurich. Iam very determined to get justice.

Rude and unprofessional – Nobody I've spoken to at this business seems interested in dealing with customers - constantly getting transferred, hung up on, treated with disdain. My claim was just rejected (and the resulting repairs) because Zurich put a random policy number into the claim, despite being provided the correct policy number / vehicle rego / ID over the phone.
Income Protection is Useless with Zurich Insurance – I have been on sick leave for stress and anxiety for over a year. As a benefit, my employer provides an income protection policy to employees which would supposedly pay about 75% of my salary after being on sick leave for 6 months. They first claimed that I was on sick leave because my relationshiip with my employer had deteriorated and not because I was ill, even after my psychiatrist and GP had provided evidence of my condition. I appealed their decision and filed a complaint for the slow pace at which the claim was processed. This unfortunately did not make a difference as Zurich has cotinued to drag their feet and continue to ask for more and more information. It has been over 6 months since the claim was opened and I still have not been able to get a benefit which was supposed to alleviate the financial burden during my recovery. This situation made such benefit useless. I have been placed in a very difficult situation where on top of trying to recover from my mental health issues, I also have to worry about money.

If they don’t honour the policy any price is too much – Its been more than 3.5 months since minor damage to my vehicle in a collision. Its still not repaired and they haven’t organised a replacement. The employee verified who she was, making sure her inquiry was legitimate. began laying down the law and then speaking over her when she tried to talk exerting his dominance. This went on for a little bit until I interjected to maintain a balance which startled him because he didn't know he was on speaker and I was listening in. So much for customer relations and after this claim is settled I doubt we will be back.

Rang to pay an excess and they hung up me – Great customer service they have (sarcasm), waited for over 10 minutes to talk to someone and then they cut me off immediately when I said I wanted to pay an excess.

Horrible Customer Service – Have tried to get in contact with the claims department multiple times after i got into an accident with one of there customers vehicles. They haven't bothered to response since my last email, its been 2 months. horrible and rude customer service! you will not get any correspondence if you email, would give 1 star if I could.

Terrible – I waited on hold for an hour to speak to someone about reducing my monthly premium after Zurich increased it without my consent. I was then told the people I needed to speak to weren't available and I needed to wait a couple of days for a call back. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Imagine making a claim.
Tax statement June 22 – Terrible is an understatement, I am still chasing them up for a copy of my tax statement for income protection and we are in September 22 now. Wondering how long it takes to generate the statement for the period ending June 22?!!!

painful and debilitating. I was off work for weeks and managed to keep my business open with many painkillers. Then I went to the hospital for a laminectomy operation and convalesced for three weeks at home. I put in a claim for the time I was not able to be in my business. I only claimed for the weeks I was not at work. Zurich needed proof that I was not at work. I was not able to give them proof. My broker got involved and he could not persuade them to pay more than the two weeks I was in the hospital. So All I got paid was two weeks, not the 5 weeks I asked for. Thank God the operation was a great success and I recovered fully to take out insurance with GIO and never looked back.
Don't use Zurich for your Superannuation accounts – Being a Swiss company you'd think Zurich Insurance would be efficient but not so here in Australia. not able to log into an account. Zurich customer service told me that they have to set up new accounts on line but till then, I'm to call their help line for details of my account. (Just to clarify, it is now July 2022, 6 months later. ) This means every time I want to check my account, I have to phone customer support, I'm put through to India after a wait of no less than 45 minutes. The Indian customer service people do not know anything about these types of accounts and say they will check it out and call back. Yes you guessed it, they never call back even though I tried three times just to ask what my balance is. Customer service (also another 55 minute wait on the phone) now tells me that they have to send a request to find out the balance on my Super account and they will get back to me. Two weeks later and I'm still waiting. If you don't want to loose all control over your Super account and be lost in the annals of in efficiency and complacency that is Zurich Insurance Australia, choose another Insurance company as the Australian office doesn't care about the customer experience.

Their case manager has insulted me without showing any lack of empathy or consideration. They lack transparency and make it difficult for you to claim on your policy. If you've had your policy for many years, it makes no difference to them, as they do not value loyalty. Zurich will do everything possible to deny the claim when filing. Therefore, I recommend avoiding Zurich for your income protection insurance needs, as when it comes time to file a claim, Zurich will do everything possible to deny it. Disgraceful organisation.
The are a disgrace! – Read all the reviews, it speaks for itself. if I ran a business like Zurich I would be embarrassed. All the phone drop outs, promises they'll call back, everything was delayed and their excuses were laughable. My experience was horrendous, never ever again!
