This is NOT a proffessional clipper as advertised – Beware, this is advertied has a proffesssional clipper, 100% a LIE. It cuts very very badly. You need to go very slow & keep going over & over the same area. It also, gets very hot really quick. The hottests clipper I ever used in 15 years. The slide button to turn it on/off, is very hard to slide & keeps coming off. DO NOT RECOMMEND. The… Read more
reviews on this clipper are Fake, Beware. This is the worst clipper & 10 Blade on the market, the worst!!!!
Great product until – I was happy with my clipper until it started to play up. It stopped altogether until I worked out if i held it upside down it would operate. I worked out there must be a loose wire somewhere inside where cord goes into machine. I notice someone else had a similar problem so must be a fault. Show details
Very pleased with performance, not so happy with build – Do a great job on all four of my dogs. Have been using for over a year now - average once a fortnight for all four so no heavy duty work involved. The wiring is coming loose where it attaches to the clippers and the top plastic section behind the blade isn't too stable either. I am somewhat disappointed with blades though. I've bought several… Read more
different sizes, all Andis, some have cut like a dream, some have been blunt as all get-out straight out of the box! I'll be taking other reviewers suggestion and trying wahl blades in future (my wahl kms-22 died after 3 uses and no joy from wahl so I'm not going back to their clippers). I also agree that for the price, one would really expect a soft carry case in the very least! I paid extra to get a selection of guide combs in the box, which was worth it because to buy separately would have cost double. All in all, I'm happy and would buy again but Andis need to pay attention to build quality and blade quality control or they'll lose loyal customers eventually.
Good clippers, not so good blades – Great with Wahl blades, just OK with stock Andis blades. I have used these clippers for a while with Andis and Wahl blades which are interchangable. Andis blades that come with clippers are far inferior to two Wahl blade models that i used. They heat up very quick and go blunt sooner. Once i bought two blades from Andis and one of them could not… Read more
cut brand new from the box indicating poor quality control. With wahl blades they are excellent clippers. I use them mainly on big Black Russian Terrier dog with extremely thick undercoat and once they stall they can still cut for a bit on another dog with more moderate undercoat. Either way wahl blade will last longer especialy with two blades to change between when they heat up.
Did the job! – I had purchased dog clippers from Aldi, but they didn't cut through my mums dogs fur. I had these Andis ones recommended by a family member, and they work great. They do get hot, but I think they all do, including the hair clippers I have for my human family. This wasn't an issue though, as I'd bought the attachments to leave the fur a bit longer anyway. disappointed – can anyone tell me where to send my clippers to have the company repair them? 1st couple of years use excellent but now they aren't working properly... dragging??? any tips would be appreciated
Poor wiring – I have been using these clippers for six years in my grooming salon. Their performance is great. The only trouble is they stop working after about 18 months because of what I believe is a design fault. The wiring becomes lose and the clippers stop working. I am about to send them to get fixed for a fourth time! I bought the latest Andis… Read more
clippers 8 months ago and the wiring has already gone in those! Have had to go make to my old Wahls in the meantime. A lot cheaper and a lot more reliable. Andis are also a lot heavier than the Wahls. Will not be buying Andis in the future.
Andis AGC 2 speed Clippers turning amateurs into professional dog groomers – I persevered for years with cheap clippers to trim my Kerry Blue Terrier. The job was very frustrating with the blades regularly clogging up, getting very hot and taking me approx 2 hours to do a full cut. I eventually bit the bullet and purchased the professional grade Andis AGC 2 speed clippers, after a lot of research I found the Andis… Read more
provided the best value for the specs it offered. The only downside of the product it does not come with guide combes which are essential for most dog coates for professional style cuts greater than 1.5mm in length. Expect to pay between $35 to $60 for a compatable combs set.
The first cut of my Kerry Blue Terrier with a 4 month winter coat went like a dream and was completed in less than an hour. The blades cut through the really thick n curly coat with some matted deadlock sections with ease. I was able to do long head to tail runs without stopping or going back over. The cut was very even all over. Towards the end of the cut I noticed the blades were getting hot so recommend doing the sensitive areas first.
This was the first use of my clippers therefore I am unable to comment on the durability of the product. It feels sturdy enough and was reasonably quiet as it did not spook my dog when trimming around the ears.
I like the versatility of being able to switch the blades with multiple sizes and blade types. I found the speed control button annoying as I kept accidentally changing speeds, this seems to be a design flaw to have the button lock on the speed switch in the middle of the handle where your are holding onto.
Overall I recommend the Andis AGC 2 speed, turns any amateur dog groomer into a pro.
They are fantastic - 20 plus years – We have had 4 to 5 Standard Poodles, and a few Toy Poodles between mother and 2 daughters, Were the AGC Super 2 Speed have been used regular for 20 years, they have been fantastic.
Excellent clippers – Theses are great clippers , although they run hot and the blades are expensive . Blades need to be sent off to be sharpened which is a bit expensive . Better than most clippers out there but would like to see the blades cheaper to replace or sharpen
Works fine – Bought these yesterday and they seem to work great but I was very disappointed that they didn’t come with clip ons to decide how short it just came with the clippers. There wasn’t even a carry pouch, for the price you should get a couple of different size clips!!
Efficient reliable clipper – I have been using these clippers for over three years now. They are reliable workhorse. I use them for two dogs, usually clipping them one right after another in one seating thus for about 3 hours at a time at least. Yes, I know I am slow. I don't have experience with other professional clippers before. Had a very cheap one with plastic comb… Read more · 1
attachment for different lengths. Hair used to get caught between the comb and the blade, making it painful for my canine friend and a very unpleasant experience for both him and for me. This Andis AGC2's blade can be changed so there is no combs and they work great. Sure, if I don't brush out matted spots, it can still be painful for my dogs. So I always give them a good brush before hand. With that, these clippers work very well indeed.
It comes with a #10 which is useful but not the one with heaviest use because it only leaves 1.5mm of hair behind. One must purchase other blades and they can be expensive. So, if you are not interested in investing into buying additional blades, then AGC2 is not for you. Friend of mine who is trained tried to glide over air clipping her poodle pooch which resulted in terribly uneven finish, with bald spots here and there. You are meant to run the blade on the coat / skin along the grain of the hair. (Excuse my poor use of terms because I am no professional groomer or hair dresser.) Doing so produces a very even, neat cut. It is safer as well, say using a #10 or #7 to run up the arm pit and not have to worry about cutting skin.
I have acquired quite a few blades over time, as well as some scissors for shaping. Having the right tool makes the job easy. The cord is pretty thick and it can be a little stiff at times making it harder to manoeuvre. The clipper isn't heavy but it isn't exactly light either, especially given several hours of continuous use. That's the only reason I give it a 4 stars out of 5.
I had investigated into the 5-speeds Andis BGRV or BGRC but find it disappointing that it only comes in 110v, not useable where I am in Australia with 230v. It is apparently quieter but I guess I will never know. I never (needed to) use high speed setting on the AGC2.
Blades can get warm after using them for a while. This is not limited to Andis blade. I have Oster, Buttercut and other brands as well. So do oil them, clean them and rest them to cool them. I haven't had to sharpen any of my blades just yet and they are all working beautifully.
Fantastic set of clippers for any breed – I've been a groomer for 17 years and have used Oster, Wahl and Andis clippers. Personally I prefer the Andis 2 speed as I find it fits in my hand easier, it doesn't heat under my hand and it's powerful enough even if clipping matted double coats. (The only exception is if you are clipping a matted Husky or Malamute I would recommend horse clippers… Read more
or actual shearers lol)
For the last 10 years I have only used these type of clippers, 3 pairs only have lasted me that time (I always just have two as spares) and all 3 are still going strong. (And on average I would be clipping 40-60 dogs per week all year round) ... so in regards to durability etc I couldn't fault them.
Be careful who you have service your clippers and blades. I've had one (albeit lovely) local fella who nearly completely ruined all my gear so I've learnt my lesson, go with someone who is trusted and has a good rep.
Happy grooming :)

Happy dogs in summer – I purchased the Andi Pro recently and it is an excellent product, I have 2 dogs with very fine hair this handled both dogs with ease, stayed cool in the hand and light to handle, No more paying over $100 to have both dogs clipped it will pay for itself with 3 uses. Great product would recommend to anyone
Great unit, quiet and cool – Bought these for clipping our Mini Schnauzer and gave them a go yesterday. Great clippers, fully enclosed so no hair can get in and they run quiet and pretty cool. The cord is a good length and it made the clip a breeze. Most areas cut clean with a single run, however if you want a good even clip you always need to go over the again. I can recommend if you are looking for good quality even semi-professional clippers
It's perfect and excellent quality – I have had it for three years now. I have a Labradoodle with beautiful shaggy hair. She wasn't sure about it at first when she was a puppy for about two haircuts during first 6 months. After that she enjoys so much that she would lie down and let me trim the hair off sensitive area. It's quiet than most models and as long as you clean the blade… Read more
once or twice a year it's perfectly fine. I bought it from Petbarn so no issues with power or overheating.
Really good – I had originally written a bad review for these clippers as the ones I bought first died straight away. However, I was sent a replacement and 5 years later I am still using them and they are still working perfectly! Show details · 1
Excellent – It works perfectly on my poodle cross cavalier King Charles spaniel to we first used the Wahl pro series rechargeable this has out done it by far. It's worth the money!!!!
Excellent dog clipper – I have only used this model once but it was chalk and cheese by comparison with my previous clipper (which wasn't an Andis). On the fast speed it clipped my dog's hair (a Portuguese Water Dog) effortlessly and quickly without catching. It is a little heavier than some cheaper clippers but it does such a superb job in a shorter time that weight was not a problem.
Perfect Purchase – I've had my Andis for several years now and they've been faultless. I've used them on our Airedale Terrier, Smithfileld Border Collie X, and 2 horses. I purchased them from our local pet store. Those who have had problems, I suggest buying local and getting the back-up service and using sales staff expertise to ensure you are buying the right… Read more
product for the job. I don't oil as often as recommended but I do keep them very clean.
You can't go wrong in my opinion unless you're buying cheap online in which case you probably got what you paid for and should refrain from commenting.
Worth buying – I've had one of these for about 18 months, to trim my mini poodle. It does a good job and is value for money, you can turn it up to full speed and it makes trimming the dog really quick. It also fits different brands of blades which is convenient if you are changing from a different brand clipper.
highly recommend – I am a groomer working from home running a small business and have had the 2 speed clippers for about 7 months now. I got it second hand and I have had no trubble with them at all, it runs well easy and computable to use and very powerful. What I love about the Andis clipper is that nearly all the blades from most brands such as Whal, Oster,… Read more
Buttercut and Sharktooth are compatible with it and fit nicely on the clipper without slipping off.

Amazing – I have 2 cocker spaniels and was spending hundreds on grooming ! I tried to do the cheap clipper thing !! Been threw 3 or 4 clippers ! So I got a andis agc2 speed. ! Wow amazing !! Perfect I can't fault it , it just powered threw my dogs fur ! I didn't need the second speed but gave it a go , it was so good Quiet , fast !
Do not buy! – I bought an Andis grooming Kit (EasyClip Groom). They worked for two grooming sessions and then died. When grooming they ran very hot. I was very careful with them - removing hair build up and lubricating the blades. They were always cleaned and put away after each groom. I have now ordered another brand. Incidentally, they were 240V powered so there shouldn't have been a problem.
Silent and Potent – Its a great product. Im very impressed with how powerful yet quietly it operates. It is hassle free and a no brainer. I clip my French Poodle with it and although he is not a fan of being clipped, he manages to sit through this one - mostly because the motor runs so quietly and it works quickly the first time you cut. Quiet Sometimes the 1.5mm blade sticks.
Bad Product suggest look else where – The clippers blew up the first time I used them. I had just started clipping and smoke appeared and they wouldn't work Amazon replaced the clippers and on the 3rd use they did the same smoked and then stopped. During use they got very hot and I had to keep stopping to let them cool down which makes the job a lot longer. They were very noisy as well. They gave a ood cut when working Very noisy and gets hot quickly. Blew up on 2 pairs.
If you bought this from the USA, did you notice whether it is 110 volts? If so, this will cause it to fail in no time as Australia has 240 volts.
Runs Hot! – My motor ran noisy & really hot within seconds of being switched on. I'm new to this so have no idea if this is acceptable or not. My gut tells me absolutely no. Especially after reading that its a cool running clipper. The cost of sending back to USA is out of question as the postage cost the same as the clipper!! Good design, cuts well. Runs very Hot & Noisy. Blades almost impossible to remove & had to get a man to help.
Not a good product and a Waste of money – I brought a set of Andis Clippers P-1 model, i was told that they are great clippers and would do the job. I clipped my dog once and the clippers are now blunt and don't clip my dog, I also found I had to go very slow when using the clippers so it would cut the hair and not pull at it, I also found them to be a little noisy. I am very… Read more
disappointed with this product and will never buy them again or recommend they to anyone.
Went blunt after one clip and no longer clip my dog.
trying to work out whether its better to buy Oster clippers or Andis ?
Excellent – Great first impression. Performance exceeded expectations esp with ease of use and cutting performance. Quiet. Would recommend to the home user. Pays for itself in less than a year. (Will review again in a year) Just out of the box. First impressions, first cut review. High quality robust finish yet light, ergonomic and easy to manouever.… Read more · 3
Quiet low drone and does not unduly distress the pup which quickly got accustomed to it. Cuts as like butter against my 10mth old spoodle's 1.5" hair used with Wahl SS Comb Attachment No6 (3/4"). Did not overheat in my hands - but then again I was using it domestically on one dog. As first time user, I was very pleased with the results and ease of use...and my dog did not end up looking like a scraggy chinese crest terrier. Found the blade hard to reattach after removal for cleaning. Good if cleaning brush included. Instructions are not the easiest to read. Read other reviews about the cord needing replacement early - not sure Iknow what that means. I shall have to review this over time with mine. Hopefully it will be robust.
Terrible Clipper – The Andis AGC super 2 speed pet clipper is a horrible product. It died during the first use shaving a small 10 kg dog. I'm an international buyer so I'm pretty much stuffed and can't get it fixed and even if I could get it fixed after the horrible noise I heard from the motor I will probably need to replace the drive which cost as much as the… Read more
shaver. I strong strongly warn people not to buy this horrible product even if it says made in the USA I'm pretty sure the components are poor quality for it to die after one use. BUYER BEWARE!!! From my experience Drive Failures not uncommon.
Good – I've always found the Andis AGC 2spd clipper to be light and easy to hold. It feels powerful going through the fur on both speeds and is fairly quiet compared to some clippers. The cord is a weak point and 3 out of 3 sets I've used needed a replacement cord within 6mths of purchase so recommend an early check and have a 2nd clipper available as a… Read more
spare. Fits blades from Wahl, Andis, Oster and is a good tool overall and my preferred brand. The slim shape of this clipper makes it easy to hold The cord may need to be repaired early in its life
Piece of [censored word removed] warranty – I bought this piece of junk only 3 years ago (and paid $200) for professional commercial grade clippers. I cut a single cocker spaniel 3 times a year for 3 years. (9 cuts) Last time I used it , it made popping noises and got hot. This time, in less than 15 min, the body smokes (even with he blade off) . I have no coverage, no warranty and… Read more

This is a 200$ clipper, on a one year warranty, that I got 9 cuts out of. Truly pathetic It was quiet, The blade stays cool After 9 uses, it blew up. and since it took me over 1 year to get my 9 uses out of it, I have no coverage.
