Perfect fridge with no running problems – We've had this fridge for over four years, and gone through two house moves. Plugs in and works like a charm. All the shelving is still in tact and the ice maker is working perfectly. Not sure why everyone is having problems, but it works like a gem for us :) Keep up the good work Bosch!  Show details ·  1

Bad customer service – Fridge just completely stopped working,Brought new at H Norman October 2012 and payed extra for additional 3year warranty.Rang Bosch,fridge had one year warranty then supposedly another 3years but no ,first year of additional warranty is concurrent with factory warranty which means you pay for 3years and only get 2 years, This is disgusting,under the table stuff .I loved Bosch appliances but not now.

freezer load is a write off. Calling Bosch was no better - there'd be a two day wait (at the earliest) before someone could come out and find out what is wrong, and then, may have to COME BACK ANOTHER DAY after they get in whatever part they need. Strongly thinking I need to bite the bullet and toss it out without a second look, and reinvest the several hundred dollars in repair bill, couple hundred dollars of grocery bill and ice, and of course the time and energy sitting around hoping that someone might come in the next day or maybe the day after at any time@!#!$!$@##@!

No end of trouble – I have had this for less than 4 years, It broke down 6 months ago, on a Saturday morning. Could not contact Bosch so I got a local repairman to fix, wonderful service even brought a replacement fridge. Compressor fault $700 and 6 months later another different problem that would cost over $400 so will get a new fridge ...guess what not a Bosch. Wouldn't touch another of their products with a barge pole.

Brilliant Fridge – We've had this fridge for 4.5 years and it's a beauty. Works really well, doesn't frost up and is nice and quiet. I'm even impressed with the spare parts. We broke the shelf on the door and I was expecting it to cost me an arm and a leg and take months to appear. I rang Bosch in Melbourne and they had it to me in less than 4 days and it only cost me around $35. I'd recommend it to anyone.  Show reply

Here we go again!!! – Woke up this morning to find our butter melted. Fridge gone again. Had a nightmare run the first time the fridge broke down within warranty with three technicians with no conclusive solution, numerous phone calls and emails to Bosch and eventually a replacement. Poor service, broken fridge for days and lots of stress caused!!!!!!! – I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing this fridge!!!! Ours is the stainless steel 'fingerprint proof' model. half an hour away from my address to call me. Ended up having to call Nambor electrical myself who only operated in my area one day per week. Ended up having to call Bosch team again, spoke with Bianca who was great, so informative, helped with all of my queries and organise a service man to come from Kerrs electrical in Buddina (15 mins from my address)

$90 worth of food gone bad and a service three days later, Kurt from Kerrs electrical advised that its a major fault and he would need to order a new compressor. I contacted fair trade straight away after reading all of these reviews. Luckily I am still under warranty as fridge is only 16 months old. I am legally entitled to refund / replacement fridge as per my consumer rights and as written n my warranty. Kerrs electrical contacted me straight away to let me know that they would have to remove fridge from my home to arrange for a new compressor. Jacinta from kerrs electrical advised that as they are having to remove the fridge from my home to the shop, it must be quite faulty as they dont normally have to d that. she also said as it is a major technical fault and I'm covered under warranty I should contact Bosch. So I did yet again. Got Bianca again who was quite aggressive in telling me that Bosch do not offer refunds, (even though it states that they do in my warranty booklet!) Bianca stated that they would need the service report before they could do anything to help me and when i asked to be put through to resolutions/someone higher t help me with my questions, she stated that she could not do that at is stage and that it was a different department to her. I have tried to be as polite as possible as I believe this gets you further but I am fast loosing my patience having to spend money on numerous phone calls and living in 30degree heat with no food or fridge for four days!! The office of fair trading have said I am entitled to a new refrigerator and if I don't want to accept the same model I don't have to. If anyone is thinking about buying from Bosch, I'd seriously reconsider, I will never purchase another product from them again. It is an extremely slow and tedious task to get some answers.. You pretty much have to organise everything yourself. Big Poorly made, bad warranty service, broken after a year, Incredibly poor service when trying to get it fixed!

crispers cracked within a few months and then would break when being pulled out.

6 months out of warranty but into the the extended warranty we paid for, the compressor wires were chewed up by mice and consequently compressor was stuffed (we had put in our garage while we built our new kitchen), therefore not making them repairable in the warranty of course.

The fridge mechanic said the reason was that they have no base on these fridges so anything can get in and damage them. He said to stick with old fridges and freezers as they are much better made and have less mechanical trouble!

Definitely won't be seeing these as a garage fridge the future! big, could change the side of the door opening cheaply made, all plastic, mechanically not well protected from vermon

organize, he was a one man company so took a week to get in contact as didn't answer phone or return calls, once he finally came out found the compressor had died and informed bosch at the time no one on the gold coast was allowed to do R600 gas so we had to keep trying to contact repair agent and bosch to sort in the end had to involve Clive Anthony's as went 6-7 weeks with no fridge living out of a esky. In the end Bosch agreed to replacing the fridge.

Fridge number 3 was delivered and old one taken away on the 14/5/2010.

This fridge was working fine until 5th December when woke up and found the milk was warm and All the Christmas food had gone off meaning had to throw thousands of dollars of food and no fridge for Christmas, we rang Bosch explained that feel the compressor has died again as same problem as last time 2 half years earlier, they told us to ring newmans appliance repairs 07 55395355 who came out a week later 11/12/2012 and found compressor not operating start relay ok but compressor is seized costing us $99 service call.

They emailed Bosch on the 12/12/2012.

I contacted Bosch Monday 17th dec and found that Bosch warranty is 24 months on fridge and 5 years on the compressor. Was asked for Bosch job number but when we first rang Bosch where told we ring newmans service agent and they get in contact with Bosch for job number,

After another four phone calls to bosch asked to be put up to section who makes decisions as wasn't getting anywhere. I then talked to Patrick who has been trying to sort problem all week.

This afternoon I received a phone call from crystal 07 31373633 who says she is ringing to fix our fridge at a cost of $513.75 to us which is close to half the cost of the whole fridge, not including compressor supplied by Bosch.

So I rang Bosch again and talked to Hector 5:00pm 21st and explained our bad customer satisfaction in this product and explained have been happy with dishwasher oven etc but no luck with this fridge been a expensive exercise. He had great customer service skills compared to other members who have Delt with and gave me this email address to put it in writing to be pushed up to try sort something out for us.

The main problem we have is that we decided to pay more money to get better products when did our kitchen up so spent the extra money to buy Bosch appliance for everything we required and even paid for extra extended warranty, the company we purchased it from Clive Anthony's tweed heads shut down and we can't get a copy of the extended warranty or what it covers, as we feel paying a service fee for 2nd fridge that died in warranty then again for 3rd fridge that died with the 3rd fridge not being able to be fixed by Bosch repair agent then being given another company's details that want to charge $513.75 to fit new compressor and unable to fix it till mid to late jan around a month after It died and with no fridge for christmas and that long to be a bit of a joke. looked good and decent size compressors die, had 3 fridges now, and now up for a bill to fix it and no christmas food. built cheap

Bosch compressor fail – Three years after purchase, unit stopped working, several hundred dollars of food wasted. Two year warranty only. I thought Bosch was the pride of German engineering. Broken down twice – After owning this fridge for less than a year it one day decided to stop working. Repairer came out and said it was the compressor and they replaced the fridge with a new one (same model). A year later today and thankfully just under the 2 year warranty period the replacement fridge has now stopped working. I hope they will give me the money equivalent back or a different model.

said the compressor had to be replaced. We waited. It got replaced, re-gas and still it was not cool. It was deemed unrepairable and claims said there wasn't an equivalent model to replace it now so they gave us the $ for what we paid for 2+years ago. This amount was nowhere near enough to purchase a fridge of those specs today. It was very disappointing and i must say, i wont purchase a Bosch fridge again. Will stay with Westinghouse and Electrolux that are Australian made these days. Even Fisher & Paykel are from Thailand these days! What happened to quality brands? Almost perfect except – Purchased this because we wanted a more efficient fridge, old one used a lot of power. They have done a good job with this. Freezer size is what made us buy this unit, it is about the largest freezer on this size of fridge.

Bad points - there are two we have found.

You can't put bottles, soft drink, juice etc vertical anywhere except the door. So get used to laying them down on a shelf.

The other one we discovered is that the door extends down very close to the floor. This means that if you stand in front of it in bare feet and open the door you get a very sore toe when it hits you. The good thing is that you only do this once (pain is a very good teaching method) and learn to stand to the side. Most fridge doors are far enough above the ground to move over your feet. Efficient, quiet, freezer size, crispers. Can't adjust shelves to fit bottles in vertically.

OK – option of stainless steel handles should have been available. Great mechanically (so far). Glass shelving is nice and roomy freezer looks great, nice and big handles have cracks appearing at the top and bottom of both the fridge and freezer. Care must be taken to open pulling in the middle of the handle rather than the top or bottom. will need to be replaced. not even 12 months old.
