10 years on – Still going strong in 2021. We run it once a day on average. Used to use Finish power ball but now use Aldi tablets or powder. Never use rinse aid but occasionally white vinegar instead. Rarely clean the filter only when something comes out a little dirty. We have a regular furry plate licker so nothing is too heavily soiled. A couple of times we… Read more

got the persistent problem with the error message. The cycle would stop and the display flashed soon after starting. Then it stopped draining. I despaired that we would have to get a new machine. I ended up pouring about 500ml white vinegar into the bottom with the water stuck there and left it sitting for a day then tried starting it again and it worked! Have been doing occasional cleaning cycles with dishwasher cleaner packs since then and chucking white vinegar in a load every now and again.

I love the cutlery rack at the top. There is never quite enough room on the upper shelf for all the cups, glasses and small bowls with the large cooking utensils as well. Wine glasses are not really safe a few have broken but possibly from the heat rather from than moving around. It is starting to show minor wear on the inside racks and I don’t know how long it will last from here but I do like this machine and would get another in this brand.

Poor quality components – Similar story to many others. The combined heater and pump has ceased working. An important component in a dishwasher that has only lasted about seven years of mild household use. The cost of repair is substantial and to top it off the parts are not available in WA even from Bosch agents. With poor quality parts and no local back up I could not… Read more

recommend Bosch to anyone.

As an update I received an email from Bosch - telling me to call their service number. Fat lot of good that did.

Second update - 2 weeks later - 30.08.19 - the machine now shows a different error code and is not heating. The technician was not able to determine why. Waiting for Bosch to contact me.

Third update - eight weeks later - 30 October 2019. The machine has been repaired after being out of service for over a month. Bosch agreed to pay for the parts used in the repair (fair enough). However, we have now been waiting over a month for the reimbursement of the cost of the parts to be made.

Very poor service.

This dishy rocks – Bought this about three years ago. Spent more than I had planned to but so glad I did. Had been through numerous pathetic dishwashers that made me always feel I might as well wash by hand. Not this one, it's been fab. I am very lazy with it - haven't really bothered to try all the different settings or to rinse dishes or to regularly check the… Read more ·  1

filter (the one time I did check, about a year ago, it was fine). Dishes always come out clean unless I use the eco wash (30 mins) with something a bit too dirty, like say sticky porridge spoon.

Works extremely well with Finish tablets but I prefer to use Ecostore tablets or powder. Have to use Finish rinse aid though or things do come out quite wet (sort of negates the point of the Ecostore stuff, doesn't it. Sigh. Everyday compromises; an everyday battle). When things do come out wet for whatever reason (mostly an issue with tupperware or things with concave surfaces) I just stack them on the dish rack to dry, not a big deal in my view. There is a timing thing there - I've noticed things are drier about 30 mins after the cycle or something, when the steam has dried up but it's still warm - seems better than if you unstack straight away or the next morning. Should probably experiment with that a bit... or maybe just read the manual (more laziness).

Oh and I love the cutlery tray and the amount of space. The layout is awesome. I specifically wanted a dishwasher that could hold my tall dinner plates and it has no problem with them.

Does seem a bit noisier than it used to, when draining water. But the mechanics side of it is whisper quiet.

This dishwasher gave up the ghost after 13 years or good service. The cost of service and parts could not really be justified. Have replaced with the current Series 6 Bosch and hope to get at least another 13 years for the next one. Show details

great dishwasher for 10years – Have been very happy with our dishwasher of 9 years has been used constantly thru it's life. Worked pretty well except for short life – We mostly used the quick cycle which goes for 29 minutes, as long as you clean the filters regularly it works and cleans pretty well. The only reason we didn't give it a higher rating is that it only lasted 10 1/2 years which is too short a life span when spending this much money. Finally died when we got the E17 error which is something to do with either too much water or too little water. I checked all the hoses but had no luck fixing it. Show details

Problem – Hi there my Bosch SMS68M02AU/43 is stopping mid cycle and the display is going blank after about 10 to 20 minuets it will start again it may do this a few times before completing the cycle. It can often shut down and start up over the course of many hours to do a 2.5 hour cycle. The SMS68M02AU with then flash after the completed wash cycle. What does this mean. Dreaded ongoing E24 error – I have had the Bosch dish washer for 7 years. While it cleans dishes well, it has had increasingly common E24 errors, indicating a blocked or kinked siphon hose, or blocked rinse arm, or blocked impeller. We always rinse our dishes and clean the filters, to reduce incidence of E24. I have ensured all systems are clear- multiple times, following… Read more

instructions from various videos. The siphon hose is clear- I can suck and blow air through it easily. The impeller turns easily with finger pressure. All spray arms are clear. The filter unit is connected securely and is clean. Today we have attempted to wash our dishes more than ten times- checking each of the above steps each times. I am now about to have the unit replaced and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Was great until error warning – Sms68m02au - purchased in 2009, not installed until 2010. Has been great and have recommended this brand dishwasher to many due to quietness and cleaning efficiency. However, would expect an appliance that cost over $1200, to last longer. We have error code E01, which is similar to others on here, the cost of fixing would be near the cost of replacing. As it is only for a family of 2 we will have to consider options. Disappointed in the brand. Show details

Good While it Lasted but died at 9 years – Good dishwasher - washed everything really well, quiet and no regrets buying it. likely due to a failed sensor rather than due to any actual real problem. Yes, I could get it fixed but at $100 for a new part, $100 - $150 for a service call which then may or may not fix the problem followed by a possible new fault in 12-24 months time - it is time to purchase a new product.

May consider a Bosch again but will look wider first - I guess I now need to accept that getting more than 10 years from a modern appliance these days is just dreamin.

Really disappointed in Bosch – I purchased this after spending a lot of time doing research and reading reviews. The reviews and the brand 'Bosch' made me buy it. I now know that was a bad decision. many more years of use - a good brand with a good reputation. Now, the cost of repair and the exorbitant prices for replacement parts means I cannot keep this machine, it's just not worth it. I have to buy a new one but it definitely won't be this brand.

Bosch, why are you contributing to this culture of waste? I would prefer to repair than to chuck it out. You need to bring the prices down for replacement parts. If this is some sort of policy so you can make more money, it's not working. You're just giving your brand a bad name.

The Bosch name no longer means well built – 5 years old and now the main electric board needs replacing. After 24 months of domestic use the plastic fascia panel cracked......warranty would not cover it. We will be buying a new dishwasher ( no Bosch this time ) as the cost of fixing it doesn’t weigh up. We are disappointed with the overall construction of the dishwasher and warranty, so based on our experience we wouldn’t recommend purchasing a Bosch dishwasher.  Show details

Door failed to close after 24 months. Add 25% to the purchase cost – Pretty quite. Cleaning as expected, but the door mechanism is the main issue with the Bosch range, only failing after 2 years. $225 later I'm going back to asko for the next one. Works for us – The top cutlery draw is a real space saver. Does take some time to get used to after having used a basket previously, but this allows more space in the bottom tray. Only downside is that it's harder to include cooking spoons and spatulas here. Variospeed cycle reduces the wash time by half and this works well for us on all occasions. Very quiet to run and I rarely have items that aren't clean or dry when done.  Show details ·  1

error on Bosch dishwasher instructions:

Everytime you start the dishwasher, start a timer. After exactly one minute, open the dishwasher door for 5-10 seconds. Then close the door. The E24 error should then never appear at least until the dishwasher drains. Often it skips this as well and your dishes wash perfectly. I've been doing this for months now and it works 90% open the time.

If that didn't help, you can try removing the pump and try to pick out any hair or elastic bands around the shaft.

Other than this, I have had no problems with this machine.

could cost in the area of $400 to repair. Even though it is a quiet and reasonable dishwasher i am very disappointed with this extra cost. It seems that Bosch are not the quality machines you are led to believe they are as we have already had to replace the front load washing machine (3 years) and have had to have a board replaced in the oven (thankfully under warranty) after 14 months.

Dodgy Bosch Brand – Model - SMS68M02AU/50 Cost - $AUD1100 (reduced from $AUD1400) Age @ time of first issue - 2.6 years Issues - E09 - water heating problem Bosch were prepared to fix the dishwasher for free after first contact in September 2015 based - I assume - on Australian Consumer Law (ACL) s54 guarantee that there should be a reasonable expectation that… Read more

a 'high quality' dishwasher would last longer than 2.6 years. Pump replaced dishwasher fixed and working.

Unfortunately the same error occurred again in January 2016. Following my email with associated paper work attached requesting Bosch to remediate based on ACL s54 Bosch sent out a technician to evaluate. The technician 'fixed' the problem but now explained, 'while it was the same error code a different component was causing the E09 error this time.' The technician continued, ‘…and because it was a different component causing the error you may receive an invoice for the job.’

Bosch sent an invoice for the job.

There was no warning from Bosch before they sent the technician that they would no longer meet their obligation to fix the dishwasher under ACL s54 but now there was an invoice for $AUD426 to fix the dishwasher.

A week later in February 2016 the same error E09 appeared and the dishwasher stopped heating the water. I sent an email to the same Bosch staff member who had been dealing with the issue explaining that the same error was occurring and would they please send a technician to assist and fix the problem based on ACL s54...... no reply. I re-sent the email and associated paper work.... no reply. Still no contact from Bosch.

At the end of the day we have a ‘quality’, Choice recommended dishwasher that no longer performs the job we bought it to do after only 3 years. And Bosch are clearly not prepared to be proactive in sorting the problem.

I wonder how much time and money they’ve spent on organisational systems and training management and staff in effective customer relations such that the hard work and expense they have gone to on their branding as a ‘premium, technologically advanced & customer focused’ company is not undermined. Coz I feel pretty annoyed and the Bosch brand is on par with the Dodgy Brothers in my mind!

Ok, but when E24 appears, abandon all hope – This dishwasher isn't bad, but it isn't great. It washes well, which is the aim of buying one in the first place. The filter isn't blocked, the hose isn't kinked. It just gives up halfway through.
