Overall: - When I purchased mine, it came with a 2 year guarantee, as opposed to a standard warranty. What made this guarantee differentiate itself from your standard explicit warranties provided by manufacturers, is that Dyson are apparently to happy to ensure that the end user is happy with the product for 2 years, regardless of what happens to the unit. So if something is damaged due to wear and normal use, they are apparently happy to replace the part. That said, I haven't had any issues with the parts breaking.
- It's constructed of highly durable plastics for the most part.
- All the filters are washable, I usually put them through the washing machine.
- I've enjoyed the fact that this is a highly manoeuvrable upright vacuum.
- The ball at the base of the unit really helps moving it around.
- It's a pleasure to use, and even thought the price is steep, it's been worthwhile. It's definitely unquestionable that this is a quality product.
- It's still going strong beyond its 2 year guarantee.
- Long hair does get caught in the power head mechanism, but easy enough to clean out, as the brushes can be removed.

Pros: Great suction, low maintenance (barely any), convenient
Cons: Can be a bit loud - some are prone to a bit of a whistling sound.
Overall: My mother had a dyson for years (I loved using it) so when I moved out of home I was sad to leave my baby behind :( Thankfully my mum bought me a DC25 this year! It's got a ball - unlike her old one. But still works like a dream.
Young and old, a dyson is the greatest vacuum cleaner you will ever own. A lot of people say (and I agree) that your floors may look clean, but once you go over once with the dyson you'll be surprised at how much they pick up.
Can't spruke enough about this vacuum cleaner :D

Cons: Cord length and dust container emptying clip.
Overall: This is an example of where a company takes a prosaic product and redesigns it to a better job. And the job it does is far better than you can imagine. It vacuums very well, is very manoueverable, easy to empty - it simply does what it says it will very, very well.
However two things.
The cord is a tad short and the clip that fixes the opener for the dust container can come open unannounced when you detach it for emptying resulting in dust all over a clean floor. Not a major problem - just be sure the holding clip is in place when you put the empty container back but it needs a redesign.

Pros: Easy to clean and bagless. Easy to maneuver around the house and doesn't hurt your back. Very powerful
Cons: The cord isn't long enough and I have to use an extension cord to vacuum the whole house. The hose is quite hard to use, doesn't have a lot of flexibility- very stiff
Overall: Overall I am happy with my Dyson purchase. It cleans the house thoroughly, has a smaller vac attachment to do under the beds and good attachments for chairs and behind cupboards etc. Easy to clean and look after. I like upright vacuums for my back and this is no different. It is very easy to glide around the house.
