Multitude of voices - I'm echoing them all – We were happy at first. The machine was good for around 2 years but very noisy. Then small water drips, more and more over time. Mopped it up thinking hey just a small amount but it started lifting our parquetry floor and has now ruined it. Sort of feeling guilty like we didn't do something right. Cleaned the filter, checked the drainage cap,… Read more
hoses were ok and no "subtle" leaks... Aaargh Electrolux so wanted to believe you could make a good machine like we've had in the past. But nope - sooo disappointing and painful.
Worse washing machine I have ever had – I gave it rating 1 as it worth nothing better than that. It's the worse company I've deal with. It's a long waiting time to get through the customer service lines (almost an hour waiting and also the line dropped off sometimes) so that made me to write them an email. It took them 10 working days to get back to me. Only using the machine once a… Read more
week just for a couple for 5years + 2 weeks; i can say we have only used for about 240 times as we travel overseas average 1.5 month per year. It is totally not reliable for this quality.
The washing machine had very loud noise when doing spin, seems like the machine knows when the extended warranty is up two weeks after it expired - the machine decided just do nothing and stop. I never know Electrolux's product is this bad until I was facing unreliable washing machine and worse customer care. We put up with it being noisy and vibrating like crazy too
Do not buy an Electrolux, really bad machine for the money we spent and the company had claiming no responsibility of it.

Lasted 5 years electrolux -end of product review – Did a review of this machine when i first brought it - think I gave it 3 stars. Coming from a top loader to a front loader the difference in cleaning the clothes was very noticeable. Front loader although takes longer to wash - cleaned the clothes so much better, so happy with the machine. Then once i got used to the machine i noticed if i… Read more
tried to speed anything over 1000 the machine just bounced around the room, next if towels were in the machine - similar it just wouldn't stand still - also sounded like a train rolling through the house - very noisy on a spin. Seems like the machine knows when the extended warranty is up two days after it expired - the machine decided just to keep switching to 1 hr wash left - then slowly didn't do anything. To fix was about $450 - about 1/2 the cost of a new one - and no warranty -NOPE!
So brought a Miele 8kg more than I wanted to pay - but this machine is quiet can spin at 1600 without moving at all. Cleans well. So far happy.
Keeps stopping mid cycle – We have an Electrolux EWF 12821 Washing Machine. It keeps stopping mid cycle with the error code E10. I have followed all the Solution suggestions in the manual and it still does it. What is the problem and I also cannot find where to buy and replace the water inlet hose. Show details
horrid – I have spent so much money getting this machine fixed. I get it fixed twice a year. I don't want to buy a new one cause then I feel I have wasted so much many - thousands in 3 years getting it fixed. Now right on the 6 month Mark of last fix -I get a new pump put in - it has just stopped mid cycle. Timer ticks down but nothing happens. I'm so so over it! !!! Show details

Do Not Buy an Electrolux – After paying good money for an EWF12821 I wish I hadn't, not even three years use from it and it just stops working. Apparently the mother board cant communicate, it's a bloody washing machine, it doesn't need to do anything fancy, just wash clothes. Avoid Electrolux at all costs. Going to cost more to fix than we paid for it. Do not buy an… Read more

Very disappointing – I just bought my washer last july 2014 but already experienced problems with it in just 2 yrs of use..The technician checked it and found 2 problems..in which his estimate is almost the price when i bought it..very sad and disappointing. I trusted this brand but its not worth it. Show details

Don't buy this machine – I have bought it about 3.5 years and now it has a leaking issue after a loud violent shake. Spoke to a repairer and been advise that it wasn't worth repair so now I have to look at getting a new one. My old machine was a cheaper simple one but last us 9 years and still going with no issue. We just bought this one to upgrade and due to bigger family but so disappointed. Washing machine should lasted longer than 5 - 6 years not just 3 years. Show details

Disappointed with the Electrolux EWF12821 – Bought this machine in 2011 with extended 2 years warranty. Initially, it did the job. Subsequently, I noticed water trap on the seal and covered with mold. I felt frustrated not able to get rid of the mold. Recently, I realised the clothing was not cleaned properly . Now, it stopped spinning dry and not able to complete the full cycle. I definitely will not buy this brand again.
Never buying an Electrolux washing machine again – We've got one of these washing machines. After less than 3 years the seal is covered in mold and the detergent tray doesn't extract any fabric softener. Tried rinsing the detergent tray in vinegar as I've seen suggested in forums but that didn't fix the issue. As for the door seal it seems like such a stupid design flaw to have the user mop up… Read more
the front door after each use just to prolong the inevitable mold buildup.
That being said it seems to do a good job of washing clothes. Another reviewer mentioned that the machine is loud, which we've experienced too. We had a tech out to adjust some stuff which improved the noise slightly but now we run the spin cycle lower than the max setting just so we don't have to put up with the noise.
So now we're a few years in to our purchase and already considering getting a replacement because these issues are going to get worse and worse, and the mold can't be too good for our health. We contacted Electrolux for a quote for repairs and it'd cost $250, which is close to half of what we paid for the machine brand new. If we shell out for the repairs now we'd just have to follow it up again in a few years, therefore paying for the machine twice over the course of 6 years.
Next time we'll know better than to go with an Electrolux.

Wouldn't buy another one – Bought the machine around 5 years ago. Noisy as hell! On the spin cycle it sounds like there is a helicopter in our house! We had a tech out and he changed something ( unsure on part ) but didn't do a thing. Had to put it in the shed out back because it would shake the house. Then only this week had to change the 2 way valve. Couldn't be bother… Read more
dealing with techs so I did it myself. All working again but, it has held water in the door from day one and gets mouldy all the time, constant cleaning. Apart from that, it works "ok".
Seal Leaking Water – I bought this Electrolux Washing machine about 3 years ago. It is much quieter than the pervious machine I had and It has been reasonably good until recently when it started to leak water from the door. It appears to be leaking between the seal and the bottom of the door... Show reply
Terrible product, terrible service – Door seal issues from the start- rather than leaning towards the drain holes, the seal forms a gutter, holding some 50ml of water after every wash. This causes mould to build up. I foolishly kept manually mopping this water and cleaning the seal. I now see that some customers have received a replacement seal free of charge (but to fit it… Read more

Having read the comments of others about the longevity of this model, I now see this would be throwing good money after bad.

Wouldn't buy another one!!! – I purchased my original Electrolux Washing Machine Jan 2011 for $875, it broke down April 2012 and was replaced. and time lapsed. Next step is Office of Fair Trading if no solution offer by close of business today. I am deeply disappointed with the extended warranty group and time it is taken. I will never buy from The Good Guys or and Electrolux Washing Machine again. And I have used Electrolux products previously for the past 30 years. I have never had so much problems with an appliance! They've lost this consumer!
Nothing but trouble – In October 2012 we bought new appliances because of a renovation. Two of the appliances were Electrolux [oven and washing machine] and they have been nothing but trouble. I've had repairs on both [just when they were out of the warranty period of course]. At one point I had to get both the oven and washing machine repaired at the same time and… Read more
they wanted to charge me call out fees for both even though the same guy was repairing them! The washing machine has been repaired twice because of faults, and yesterday I found the machine completely dead. No power to the machine. I'm absolutely loathed to spend any more money on repairs nor do I like the idea of buying a new washing machine in less than three years.
the lesson...never, ever buy Electrolux.

Electrolux time Manager EWF12821 Washing Machine – I have had my washing machine just over 3 years, I paid $850.00 for it, it has know just stopped working after working great the day before. which problem it is until I replace one or either item, neither of which I can get a refund on depending on what problem it is!! At the time of purchase I could not get an extended warrenty as I purchased from a new Masters store which at the time didnt issue extended warrenties. Therefore my expense washing machine 3 years later will probably end up costing another $400 to $600 dollars to fix. Whats the point in buying a high end product when it only breaks down after 3 years, feeling totally ripped off, will probably go a purchase an old style 2nd hand washing washing which will be cheaper than gettting this repair and probably more reliable than this washing machine, I would never buy another electrolux applicance (PS the techinican said his brother worked for Electrolux and he doesnt even recommend them, now thats saying something doesnt it!! When you spend this kind of money you expect to get at least 8-10 years out of it before it needs a repair.

serviceman said I was lucky to get that long out of it!). We are on tank water and have no problems with water usage, dirt blocking the filter etc. The door did leak once, but then I realised I had bent the rubber ring - adjusted it before the next load and no further issues. Following the user manual, we just drain the machine and clean the filter monthly - if we remember! The machine gets a work out at least 3 times a week for a family of 5 and just keeps going. I can only go on my experience, but I would recommend this machine to anyone
Constantly Leaking – Our machine seemed to be travelling fine. The the inner rubber came out, told by Electrolux tech to be careful as it's prone to do that. Then leaks from front door periodically and now constantly leaking from its base. With 5 kids, this thing needs to be on its game. Turning out to be lemon.

Trouble from the very beginning! The least reliable washing machine ever! – We bought this machine just over two years ago and we are sick of having to deal with the constant stoppings and the error indicators coming on all the time! Don't buy one – I've had it for less than 2 years and endured several problems. Don't like the choice of cycles - but that's the least bothersome. Never will buy another one – We have only had our washer 4 maybe 5 yrs. It started leaking from the bottom. When the repairman looked at it he said it has been leaking for a long time, years. Since it has we need a new seal, tub, motor and heater. I contacted Electrolux and they only want to give me 30% off a new washer. Really that is all. I should not be having to replace it at all. That is why we purchased what we thought was a good long lasting washer.

pristine/unworking condition. Told part $14 labour $250 told them to not worry return machine & I will sell as it owes me money! Delivery will be $110 told them I don't think that right I was never told of charges prior & besides I paid tech $134 for showing up! They offer to deliver NO charge.
Machine returned to me damaged, obviously dropped or sliding around van, three sides damaged, worst in front panel, they tried to cover it up with white paint! I made a complaint as this obviously decreases value again, via email. After 2 weeks of phoning back & forth they offer free repair wait 5 days to be picked up.
Message in morning if I will be available, returned call to office "YES" I'm not getting paid to wait, I dont go to work I don't get paid, fairly simple assumption!. Stepped out to pick up 4 loads of washing $62 from laundromat (second home) so I can get it on the line, since I'm home anyway.
Guess what they show up!
Machine (beaten up) is sitting on veranda after I dragged it up, because I can not live another day with out machine.
They dont pick it up because I havent signed for it!

out again, after 10 seconds of turning the knob he said error code 52 you will need a new motor. We explained the cycles sometimes got through depending on which one was used, so how could the motor be gone. Well that was met with, I've been doing this for years and we should replace the control box also and the shockers. Total cost with labour within a shade of $500 and the labour was fixed at $134 for any repair or the just turn the knob and the advice & quote given. Didn't even remove a panel to look at any part of it. If it is that simple why when you phone for the service attendance don't they get you to twist the knob to get the code and they could give you the same quote and advice over the phone.
Anyway not worth spending that kind of money to fix when a new one is another hundred or two more.
The good......... Learning Front Loaders and Electrolux should be left alone.
The bad.......... Front loaders take for ever to wash and never leave the washing smelling fresh.
The ugly..........Electrolux reliability.
Poor service and advice to customer.

around $450 to have a technician come out and look at the machine and then remove the door and replace it with a new one. As the machine was only just over 2 years old we did not see the point in spending another $450 to fix the door, when Electrolux could not guarentee that it would not happen again.
I don't believe that this washing machine can hold the stated 8kg. Our new washing machine is another 8kg top loader washing machine and it can hold twice as much as the Electrolux. I would never recommend this washing machine to anyone who has a family of more than 3 people. The quality of the wash was not great and the clothes often came out stinking as if I had never washed them.
I took great pleasure in dumping this hunk of junk.
I can honestly say I am not a fan of front loaders after this experience and will never buy one ever again.
Door locking mechanism failed, never washed the clothes properly they came out stinking.

fantastic:

• Speed
• Dirtiness
• Vapour
• Temperature
I found the wealth of settings to be useful and just what I have always needed in a washing machine, this has enabled me to stop wasting money the drycleaners as I can put this on the lowest water heat, and spin speed (400) which has made washing my business shirts a very gentle experience.
This is also very handy on other clothes with very set in stains as the 1200 spin cycle speed does also work wonders with some very good detergent, OMO Front Loading Concentrate Detergent seems to be the best I’ve used so far.
I have used other brand washing machines before and have no time for them:
Miele (friends): Too overpriced in Australia for what you actually get and too expensive to fix if anything goes wrong, I don’t understand the hype over these products.
Samsung: Pretty to look at but service is appalling.
I also checked out the others at Hervey Norman Hoover seemed to plastic, I wouldn’t touch the quality of a Samsung or LG, Panasonic seemed okay but this is their first time entering the washing machine market so I had a few concerns, Miele was once again too overprice, and Bosch not only looked ugly I could have only got a 7KG machine for what I paid for the Electrolux
In terms of value for money, Electrolux always seems to be the best option; you get extremely great quality, great styling, and the fantastic service only Electrolux can offer for Australians and the price of mind that if anything goes wrong you are dealing with an elite Australian provider.
I will only use Electrolux owned products in my Kitchen and Laundry moving forward, and for Electrolux to win someone over from my generation when it seems most of the younger generation are going to other products I think means they are on the right track.
Seriously am in love with their products! Great Euro quality with awesome Aussie service and price!
Very disappointed – I've had this machine for 2 years and it's failed. Seems the electronics are faulty. Completion time has never been accurate and it didn't rinse as well as I would like. like jelly, imagine the stress that put on the machine. Also all the other front loaders I have had built up speed to full spin, this seems to instanly jump to full spin speed for a few seconds, again putting huge stress on the machine, and it does this more than once.Even the final spin does not seem long enough (1250 rpm)
Purchased the extended warranty so will see what happens in the 5 year period. Big door easy to load and unload. 8 kilo is a lot of clothes. The time management does help reduce wash times. Door and door handle covered in plastic, piece on hanndle fell off second day. Timer not accurate.
