Good washing machine! – We have this machine for almost 5 years. It washes well and has all washing cycles we need. It has very low level of noise and is very reliable. 8,5 kg of washing is a good capacity for a family of 4 adults. One only thing I'd wish to be made better: the screw cup of the filter is extremely tight. Every time I pray not to break it when trying to unscrew it to clean the filter. Show details

No wonder it's discontinued! – Non stop issues.approx.3-4yo! Started with door sensor, powder not emptying from dispenser tray, Errors that stop machine so often it can take me a day to do one load! Now not spinning & leaving oil/sludge on clothes. Had to buy new school shirts today...I'm done! Will never purchase Electrolux again! Show details

Electrolux EWF12822 - won’t buy Electrolux again! – Had nothing but issues with this machine. If it’s not the door not opening and constantly getting stuck. It’s the spin option that doesn’t get enough water out of the clothes out on the 18min cycle so you have to respin every time. Cleaning the filter often and I feel like this is just never ending. Now the water only fills on the pre wash and… Read more

the softener and detergent just sit in the trays doing nothing because water doesn’t get in there to rinse it out.

My last front loader lasted for ever. This one I think just on 5yrs.

Seriously frustrating.

Sucked in, bad – My mistake not checking reviews before I bought this dud, sucked in big time by salesman at Harvey Norman. I can see why it's discontinued, paid $1100 and didn't even last 5 years. 18 minute cycle not enough and 1 hour 5 minutes too long, clothes never looked that clean and having to clean the filter constantly and wipe down mould on the rubber… Read more

at the bottom of the drum was a pain. Now it's chewed up a part and not spinning, I contacted a repairman and luckily he was honest and said it was not worth fixing. I hate that I have to say these things about a product but I feel that I must to stop people making the same mistake I did. Do your homework. Will never by this brand again. Just to top it off, went to Harvey Norman to buy a new washing machine and found out the warranty for this Electrolux expired only a month ago. Not happy at all.

Error E10! and taking water through wrong dispenser – I have electrolux "ewf12822" which I have only had for 4 years and have been getting error E10 code. I have done the following: Checked that water tap is open Checked the water inlet hose is not kinked or blocked and have cleaned the filter I have also checked the drain hose and cleaned the drain pump It stops working and shows E10. if I… Read more

press start it will work for a short time before stopping and flashing on pause.

The other issue it has is it only takes water into the prewash dispenser even when not selecting prewash. It also takes water through prewash for the softener. And its had an issue from the start with the door sensor not registering the door is shut and keeps beeping E40 when it is closed.

Not sure what can be done to rectify these issues, but will be buying a different brand in future!

Error E40 Really Bad Product – Had this mashine for an about 3 years now, allways had issue that mashine won't start ( code E 40 would come up) so to get it started it could take sometimes up to 10 attempts. Had technician came (under warranty) and he said that nothing can be done... he said move your drum by hand and try again! And today finally it died, didnt start after like 50 attempts!  Show details

Hate this machine! – Wish I never purchased this machine it's awful! First the door was faulty and was repaired but that's ok. Problems are it continues to beep after the cycle has finished even after you have opened the door. The cycles are too long, 18 minute quick wash which doesn't wash well or 1hour 5 mins is the next quickest, nothing in between. The energy… Read more

saving cycle is 2 hours or 5 hours go figure! Have to clean the horrible thing every fortnight for the stench it leaves on the clothes.

Stuck with it for 10 years now due to the exorbitant price, so cross with myself for letting the sales man talk us into buying it. Never getting a front loader again! No wonder it's been discontinued.

Ok machine – Ive had this machine for almost 2 years now and have no problems with it what so ever. Its a bit ruff on fluffy towels and blankets. Even when using a low spin cycle but thats no major. The only problem i have with this machine is the stupid place in which the water outlet has been placed. Its along the bottem front right hand side. When… Read more

opening the flap (if it is on ground and not elevated) its a hassle to empty with out making a mess everywhere as its so low i am unable to get a container underneath to catch the water.

Pretty happy so far – We have had this washing machine 7 months, and so far very good. Soft on the clothes, which is a big one for us as previous washers have not been, leading to lots of clothes not lasting the distance. No mechanical issues at all. Average noise level, and definitely quieter and more reliable than the Samsung a Fisher & Pykels we've had before.  Show details

Mediocre – Worked well for a few years of moderate usage levels and then water inflow was reducing making it take a long time to fill and finish cycles. After 5 years the control board started randomly ending mid cycle and finally not being able to start a cycle. Compared to others here I think we did much better. I just replaced the control board ($200)… Read more

and inlet valves ($70) myself and it is working well again. If we get another 5 years on those it will be worth it so let's see. I expect at least 10 years from a major household appliance. Replacing is just a pain in the backside. would not recommend Electrolux.

Failed after 6 months – So after putting to rest our washing machine than ran beautifully for 15 years we purchased this machine. The salesman pitch was that "these things never come back"...the reason that they never come back is because any problem gets offloaded to the external service agency. The cycle wasn't consistent and often made weird beeping noises. Then the… Read more

big problem came when the machine wouldn't turn on at all and the solution is not to actually come and look at the machine but to send someone out with a replacement main board, which of course isn't in stock. Washed clothes fine, just completely failed and there is a 3 week wait time to get it repaired.

Another Sticky Door!! – When 1st used had trouble with door sticking, repair man came & used knife to cut some rubber off, then left. Door continued to stick for weeks. I had to push door in hard & hold it to make it go! 15 months later during wash cycle, machine not pumping out. time management – I am almost happy with this machine. Its quite, washes my clothes well and is still going after a year of almost 2 times daily washes. The only gripe is with how it manages time. My husband's chef jackets need a long hot wash cycle so when i select cottons and 90°c and the time that comes up as almost 4 hours, and i select start, I expect it… Read more

will wash for the full almost 4hrs. Not so. It finishes in 2hrs. I should be able to set a time and be sure im getting what i selected. Change that electrolux and i might rethink my thought of when its time to upgrade going for a different brand.

An excellent purchase! – I've purchased this machine about 4 months ago, after our LG broke down. The repair person recommended me to buy Electrolux. I followed his advice after thoughtful comparison of Electrolux with Bosh and Fisher&Paykel and reading a lot of reviews. I should say that I don't have any regrets. This is a very clever machine with a lot of useful… Read more

functions. It is economical, almost silent. It washes the clothes perfectly and everything feels much more fresh then after washing in our old LG. It has a big capacity (8,5 kg) which is very important for our big family. The time of washing is longer then in our previous machine, but I would like to recommend to those who is winging about that problem to google that question. Here is the link with the answer for those who don't have time to search: http://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/washing-machine-take-long-wash/ However, Electrolux has a short cycle: 18 minutes. And it does the job perfectly!

Among other useful functions is: bedding (forget stopped cycle, because of imbalanced drum), refreshing (in case you didn't have time/ forgot to get the washing out straight away), steam refreshing, start' delay (great for those who want to save a bit more $$$ by washing during off peak hours), easy iron function, favourite cycle' memory and, of course, extra spin, extra rinse. You can wash using pre-set temperature settings or you can change it accordingly to your wish in a second. All controls are so easy to use! You will never need to read a manual.

One more thing I'd recommend. And it will save you a lot of money: never use ANY modern and expensive electrical appliance without a surge protector. 20-30 bucks will save you hundreds and, perhaps, thousands.

So far so good – First time buyer of this brand, I'm very happy with it so far. It's so quiet, have to check to see when it's finished, the wash programs are long, but I feel that my clothes are cleaner. Love the big selection of programs, and the adjust time feature. Still too early to award the double thumbs up, but only time will tell! My last washer was a Samsung, that didn't last long at all.

Spin cycle too loud! – I have already used this washing machine for 6 months. But it always has the loud knocking noises in the spin cycle. The sounds like something stuck and could not run smooth inside the machine. I bought it from Harvey Norman and they helped me to install the machine. I also double checked the operating instructions. It's all good. But it's really a bit scared when the spin cycle starts, especially when only myself stay at home.

Loud noises after 6 Months – My machine is making loud knocking noises after 6 months in the spin cycle. I paid up for this machine too. I am not impressed. The machine is stable and set up very well. Quite annoyed with my noisy Electrolux. Hopefully it is still under warranty. This seems to be when the spin cycle is starting or ending so may be something to do with cheap bearings used

Not the best, I wouldn't purchase another. Waste of money – I've had this machine for the past 4 years, it set us back a pretty penny and it's sad to say that it is going to cost us over half what we paid for it to repair the door, locking mechanism, control board & computer . The rubber ring is foul, why can't they develop a machine that doesn't end up mouldy within the first 12 months and I did drain the… Read more

tank, wipe out with a clean dry cloth and leave the door open to avoid this.

This machine wasn't worth the $1100 I paid for it. It only has one inlet (cold) then it heats the water up. You cannot wash in cold water. Seems like an energy waste if you ask me when I have free hot water from my SOLAR HWS & wetback.

I have a Westinghouse top loader in the shed (previously lived in the house until this lemon of a purchase) and it hasn't missed a beat at 11 years of age. Still gets used for work clothes. Washes far better also

We even tried to call electrolux to problem solve the issue with no return call or email.

By far disappointed with the machine and brand. I guess that's what we paid for with the added fact living in the middle of no where there is limited choice of purchase.

Pretty sure I'll be buying an Asko washer in the future - never heard of them, well neither had I until I asked around amongst friends whom their rave their praise.

Lemon – my machine leaked from day one and progressively got worse until 9 months after I purchased it the door seal completely disintegrated and water leaked out freely. Contacted Electrolux who advised that this was caused by clothing being stuck (no clothes were ever caught, the door will not close and the machine will not start if anything is caught).… Read more

I now have a $900 piece of scrap metal as they also cannot advise me how much it would cost for me to replace the seal. Never again will I purchase an Electrolux product. I had my LG washing machine for 10 years and never had an issue.

Asking for a new machine - happy with customer service and new one so have adjusted my review – When the machine was delivered I followed the initial instructions to the letter (balancing machine and doing an initial wash clothing free). I then washed a load on the cotton setting (water 60 degrees, spin 1000 - NOT the maximum) which I thought would be OK. At the end of the cycle there was a large amount of finely ground grey rubber stuck on… Read more

the door and 2 large pieces of broken rubber (approx. 4cm long) in the bottom of the machine. ALL my clothes were coloured grey and smelt badly. I did not expect such a bad result from my first wash and am extremely disappointed. I am hoping I get some customer service from Harvey Norman and Electrolux - we will see!

Follow up: I was contacted by Electrolux quickly who sent a tradie out and Harvey Norman replaced machine immediately. So far new machine is working well so THANK YOU to Electrolux and Harvey Norman. .

Not a good buy – Totally inflexible in length of cycles and temperature of water. One cycle is 2 1/4 hours. The only one to use is the short cycle and its temperature is only 40 so it doesnt wash the clothes properly. It s expensive rubbish and I d never buy one again. Only had it 2 months. Disappointing purchase.

Control board is rubbish – I had my machine for just under 12 months and it needed the control board changed, got it under warranty, no problems. Well, 18 months later and the control board is broken yet again, and you guessed it, out of warranty. Something not right when you have to have the control board changed twice in under 3 years, this wasn't a cheap washing machine either. Not happy. I am disappointed as other than this problem I really like the machine.

Machine has grown legs & is loud – Just bought this unit & used it twice now. The unit vibrates so badly on spin cycle that is walks across the floor. It so noisy too. At first I thought it was due to is first cycle howver it has occurred again on the second cycle. I am confident that I am using it correclty however am keen to get some feedback to ensure I havent wasted my money on this unit.

really great – My first time to buy this brand and this is something really great. it operates in quite mode, not too noisy, easy to select or adjust the timer, and other pre-set cycles. I dont have a problem with this product since I bought it 6 months ago. we are small family of 4 so this is great for us. this is a great front loader machine. easy to operate and maintain.

Glad I stuck with Electrolux when upgrading – Previously had the earlier model of this machine (8kg) and had no problems whatsoever with it over the 7 years we had it. cycle speed and delay start on various wash cycles. Brilliant wash on all settings, gentle on clothes when needed and compared to other similar front loaders, is good on water usage. Front loaders take longer to wash which is the only down side, however this machine was chosen for environmental reasons as we rely solely on rain water. This machine ticks all the boxes. Owned previous model - upgraded to this one and so glad I did. Electrolux is true to form in making excellent, durable products. Takes longer to complete washing cycles, however this is normal with front loaders. Otherwise, no complaints at all.
