Do your research on this one! – I bought my electrolux washer (7Kg) dryer (3.5Kg) combo at a cost of $1395 (EWW1273) in November 2010 as I only have a small laundry space and would find it difficult to place two separate appliances. During this time I have had the motherboard replaced three times in Jan/Feb 2012, June 2013 and July 2015. I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing this product buy the extended warranty for an extra $250 as you will definitely need it.

The service centre have suggested that I may be overloading the dryer. Given that I have only ever used the dryer for towels that do not exceed 2.8kg in total weight and never wash clothes in the dryer as I believe they will shrink, this would not seem to be the case. Interestingly the only reason why I wash and dry the towels in the combined cycle is that washing the towels alone in the machine results in the fabric becoming excessively stiff when left to dry on the clothes lines.

I have recently booked another service at a cost of $145 regarding the motherboard replaced in July 2015.

I was a fan... Not anymore!!! – My washer/dryer was my everything for the past four years until abruptly, 3 weeks after my extended warranty expired, it just stopped working apparently the bearings have gone on the motor which in turn is having an effect on the motherboard/electrics. Made my life painful... my worst buy Ever! – The machine stopped working a few months in since I first started using it. Started giving me problem. Panel not lighting up, if lighting up not turning the functions on, if functions are turning on, switching straight to the end of the cycle within 5 seconds as it completed without washing at all. Occasionally used washing has given me problems since a few months in and after over a year now not working at all!!

Call centre rep take no responsibility for their faulty designing and manufacturing product for their expensive and good for nothing product. I bought electrolux hand vacuum as well which lost all performance within few months. Don't buy any electrolux, its just there to strip you of your money!

Beware of the dryer function – I bought this machine as a cost effective alternative to other brand. I regret this decision because the machine pretty much does only half of what it should. the Philippines (schedule once to check even when I told the the exact symptom and then another time to actually replace the part). Anyway after they stood me up once they actually changed out the part after an expectedy failed attempt to oil the bearing. They blamed it on too much detergent but it was nevertheless changed on warranty. A few months later, despite careful dosing of special machine detergent power, the heater fan failed again. It would heat up the countertop but the fan would be seized up and/or grind horribly. It's been like that for months but I will once again try to call for service before warranty runs out. What happens afterwards, I don't know.

IMHO, it is the moisture that finds it's way back to the blower wheel and gradually degrades the bearings. Take off the top and you'll understand. I don't know if these are sealed bearings but fact is, and owners of this machine can attest, it just doesn't work. I will likely buy a new machine once warranty runs out and it once again fails.

Horrible Machine - Known Electronics Problems and Weeks to get a fix – I hope everyone reads reviews before they buy this garbage. I had the same electronics failure as everyone else - front panel doesn't light up and the machine doesn't turn on. Called service center and as soon as I said the model number the operator asked if it was the panel.... This is multiple times Electrolux has put out horrific products with known problems. Stand up and stop buying their crap!

The only thing that saved the day were the staff at the call-centre. I only had to pay the service charge.

A year later guess what? No dryer. again.

The product is very poor and the myriad of problems seem to only repeat no matter the suburb!

Dead again – 3 years old fixed one under warranty and now its dead again...My tennant not happy as a result i am not either.. So far $285.00 in service and parts to no avail..PCB board but thats not it...So now they want to pick it up and take it away..Could be out for 2 weeks... Just died on me – Bought the unit in May 2012, has been working really well. Never had any issues with it until this morning when it just simply died. the LCD screen doesnt display anything and there is no power within it. Any suggestions? put it into the scrap heap?

Died at a not so perfect time – Dear Electrolux, my machine died, no power going to it. we bout it in december 2011. It's only three years old... gone are the days where appliances are made to last... Lovely with the 35 degree weather and no clean clothes.... SMH.....

Just stopped working – Had it 4yrs worked fine I loved it... used it was working fine then one day just wouldn't turn on, seemed like there was no power to the system at all... finding a solution is the hardest thing, and something I'm still trying to do, seems though I loved how it worked before hand, biggest problem is I live on an island so no one wants to help.

Just another lemon – Wont bother with the details but it never worked too well from day 1. several repairs were done in and out of the warranty period, including the pump and automatic door lock. The door lock is playing up again and it's time for thie Electrolux to goto the scrap yard. May even get $2 back for it for the metals. Great reliable machine – I think only the people who got lemons go to this site. The product works perfectly for me since 2010, used 1-2 per week. Dryer is never gonna be quick on these combos, but is convenient to use every now and then. noticed 2 weeks later so they did not replace and I am still having problems with it.

It leaks about 1 time every 2 months floods my house and I continually get error code.

Repair man has come out 2 times cannot find problem thought he repairman is nice and really is trying to help he just cannot do much.

was in his car leaving my wife tried it and it was doing the same thing. We rang electrolux and said that the part is not under warranty which it was, they said that there is something else causing the problem so they wanted to charge me $150 to take it away $150 to bring it back, and $140 per hr plus parts. Honestly, before the breakdown I was really happy with the machine (hence the 3 stars), it is quite noisy when spinning but not annoying enough to complain. I found the dry function to be really good, it definitely takes longer than a traditional hot air dryer, but we knew that was the case and after 3 hours of drying everything would come out nice and dry and fluffy.

But to have a brand new machine completely die in just over 2 months I find really terrible. Whilst the maintenance and serivce have been good, I expected to get well over 2 months of use out of it. It's a pretty big inconvienence not having a washer for just over a week, and it's very unlikely I would buy an Electrolux product in the future. Good washer, dries really well. Not reliable, noisy.

other reviews thought the dryer was not working. Again the same problem occured with the machine E40 and I called the Electrolux service people fpr both the dryer and the error. What a waste! They advised I would hear from someone and I am still waiting. I rang again and still no response. The machine started working better and I didn't use the dryer after that but at least I was able to wash my clothes until recently. I have again been getting the E40 error and to my dismay don't even have a machine that works anymore and I am now out of warranty. Ok but not a very good dryer – It washes the clothes well but it stopped drying a week ago. I even tried one piece of clothing and still not dry. Stops drying even tho the machine says two hours to go. Bit disappointed since I bought it less then a year ago. It also makes a lot of noise when in spin cycle. Washes well. Stopped drying. Doesn't finish dry cycle.

If the heating component is faulty as another reviewer experienced then it is an inherent fault with these machines and a recall should have been done by now ! I was told the 'remedy' was for me to fork out another $250 and buy the extended warranty - to ensure that I am covered for the repairs when the machine continues to break down for the next three years. instructions so that you can work out how to interrupt the wash cycle for any reason

3 - it's a front loader so it takes longer to wash - you just need to change you washing habits. Set it and go do something else while the machine does its thing: easy!

The machine was good for me because I never do large loads and if I need to dry, then I just dry the stuff I really need. The rest can go on a clothes horse.

Also, the service guy who came to fix it under warranty said that the major problem is the control board. And 80% of the control board issues come from detergent. Therefore, make sure you use the type for a front loader. The technician said that top loader need a lot of suds and front loader need few suds. Therefore, it is not really possible for one to do both. Buy a front loader only type of detergent. He was also sceptical of detergents that simply suggested you put a half does in a front loader. Small in space, good price, does both washing and drying They are small loads for drying and the cycle is long so you need plan around it differently

What A Nightmare – I bought this machine in 2010 and it has been an absolute disaster ever since. initially didn't heat up, then after the Temperature Regulator was replaced, it started to overheat. After the main circuitboard was replaced, the wash cycle started playing up. Wash cycles that were meant to take 2 hours ended up taking closer to 4 hours and clothes were still not washed properly. After another replaced circuit board, it then started cutting out sections of wash cycles... And so on and so forth. All this time I had it serviced by a Repairman recommended by Electrolux but not employed by them. He was pleasant and as helpful as possible under the circumstances.

Enter the long awaited replacement machine. When this one started acting up a couple of weeks after I got it, Electrolux took over the repairs and I can honestly say that the only thing worse than this awful machine is the Electrolux service people. The machine will not get through a single cycle, wash or dry, without bringing up an error message at which point it resets back to the start of the cycle, it leaks, it takes a ridiculously long time to do anything, and it doesn't wash or dry anything properly. Not only was the service man rude and aggressive but he had no knowledge whatsoever about the machine and was completely incompetent to be working on it. He didn't know what any parts of the machine were or what they did and the best reason he could come up with for my machine constantly breaking down was that I was lying about the washing powder I use and the sorts of things I load in to the machine and that I had the machine installed incorrectly (Electrolux installed it and it is within all specifications), therefore making it my fault and my problem and absolving Electrolux of any responsibility.

Since he left a couple of weeks ago I have been attempting to get some sort of response from Electrolux. I have spoken to two women who were vaguely pleasant but utterly unhelpful, and one man who was curt and dismissive and who fobbed me off yet again... I don't have high hopes for a satisfactory result so I have now thrown away an enormous amount of money (not to mention time and inconvenience) on a piece of junk.

and followed the instruction carefully. The key for an efficient wash n dry experience with this unit is to have a travelling weighing scale with you so you can accurately weigh your wash loads. Then you can accurately choose your desired programme. Just stick to the color segregations and for a small family 3.5 kg per load is reasonable. When you do that your laundry is soft and really dry when finished. I recommend this also for the yuppies and busy executives who doesn't have the time to spare for a laundry day. Since it is fully automated you can have fresh laundry ready when you get home. Saves on going to a laundromat. simplifies wahing my laundry,energy efficient, water efficient, quiet and space saving, saves you from going to laundromat you can not wash your next load unlike a separate washer & dryer

Terrible – Within days of acquisition, circuit board needed replacing. It takes over 4 hours to do a wash & dry - and even then the clothes are not properly dry (no fan in the drying cycle). Been through drain motors in less than 3 years
