Expensive Flop From Electrolux – Fixed twice under two year warranty period and have paid twice to fix outside warranty period. In the past we always bought cheaper machines but this time we decided to go for a trusted expensive (Electrolux)brand in the hope it would last us at least 5 years trouble free. So disappointed and frustrated a complete expensive waste of money. Just to… Read more

Worst washing machine I 've ever had – Bought Electrolux washer-dryer from The Good Guys. In about 2 years my garage was flooded. The technician stated that a pump hose developed a crack right in the seam - manufacturing fault. Waited for parts for more than 2 weeks. Around the same time started noticing rust spots on the washed items. Contacted Elextrolux Customer Care - they said… Read more

it's my fault as there must be a foreign object that is rusting. A called out technician couldn't find anything wrong and said they could do a complete disassembly but it will be very costly and not covered by a warranty, so I refused... The washer kept destroying my cloths and bedings with rust and it was getting worse. So, I pulled it apart myself and found that it was a heater element base in the dryer compartment rusting horribly and sending flakes of rust into the drum. Absolutely terrible choice of material by Electrolux!!! $2,000+ worth of items destroyed by that rust! I sent all these findings to Electrolux - they asked to provide photo evidence and went silent after I did. I followed up, but they replied that the machine is out of warranty and they cannot help. I have treated that iron plate and isolated it with epoxy. Worked ok for about a year and I started noticing white smear marks on the washed items. These marks come off if washed again, but that was annoying, so I pulled the washer apart again. This time it's the entire dryer compartment (aluminium alloy) was rusting, therefore, white aluminium rust (oxide to be precise). Had to sand and clean it thoroughly. Again, wrong choice of material by Electrolux. SInce then I literally had to do it every year to prevent the aluminium oxide buildup. Two more years down the track and the machine stopped taking the softner. I thought one of the valves developed a problem, however, it turned out a lot worse! Again, the Electrolux design stupidity: the machine has 3 valves: 1 for pre-wash, 1 for detergent and 1 for...no not the softner...NOTHING. Instead of using it for softner, it is marked as "bleach" and used for NOTHING (literally dumping water into the drum via flow restrictor)!!! So, that module was designed for a different washer, but used it in this one, which doesn't have "bleach" compartment... Guess what triggers the softner compartment? The simutaneous opening of pre-wash and detergent valves!!! The water jets from the two are supposed to collide and change the direction of the resulting jet to trigger the softner. What a dumb idea (Electrolux design flaw AGAIN)! If restrictor in one of these valves partially loses its capacity - the resulting jet doesn't hit the softner compartment. Fixed that now by re-wiring the valves and re-directing the jet from the unused valve to the softner compartment. At the same time another problem has been developing for about a few montha: the washer randomly stops in the middle of a "Cotton" cycle and signals the end of washing... Only happens on "Cotton" and about once every 3 or 4 washes... ... Now look at all these problems and realize that all of them were results of incompetent design and wrong choice of materials. Add the reluctance of Electrolux to take any responsibility for this. The conclusion is - stay away from Electrolux or AEG products. I will.

Great combo washer and dryer – Washing machine is great - delayed start which is super convenient, lots of settings including short cycle. I was hesitant to buy a front loader because of the long wash cycles but you can adjust the time on cycles - some as short as 35 minutes for a normal wash. Even has a quick -8 minutes wash for things that don’t need much. Dryer is ok too,… Read more

Cannot dry – Dryer is utterly inaffectual. Even with a small load takes 3-4 to dry, much longer with a full load. Questioning the energy/water efficiency of a machine that takes 2-5 times as long to do the same job. As a small consolation, delicates are treated relatively well on a normal cycle.  Show details

Shocking! dryer does not dry – Staying at a hotel apartment with this washer / dryer combo in it and the dryer does not work. We spoke to reception who sent a maitnence man to have a look who told us that none of them work and there must be at least 75 apartments here. They are so bad that the hotel has offered to dry our clothes for us coz we can not get them dry in this machine. The store where we purchased this product has informed us that Electrolux need to send a technician out to see if there is a fault.. After reading these reviews I am sure there isn't, it is just a poor product that should remove the word dryer from their marketing- hello false advertising. needed to rely on the warranty of a product as much as I have with this one!

You do have to regularly clean out the drain pump filter. Absolutely listen to the manual when it says this because otherwise your machine will just stop... mid-cycle. Tip: elevate your machine as the drain pump filter is at the very bottom and it will literally just pool water on to the floor otherwise.

In just 3 months the seal on the door had a tear in it. I have had a lot of washing machines over my lifetime and none of them have ever ever ever had a tear even after years of use. Luckily it was still under warranty.

Then 10 months later, the machine stopped mid-cycle. I cleaned out the drain pump filter. Still stuck. Had to call the technician. He had to fiddle it around a bit and then after a while it worked again... like magic. Luckily just scraped in under warranty.

Then 13 months later (woohoo made it past a year!), a lot of water just started leaking from underneath the machine. No error message, no stopping mid-cycle.. it just continued for 2 hours straight while we were sleeping. Woke up to water leaking down the walls (our laundry is upstairs) and the washing machine was humming away with water gushing out. It's out of warranty now. Update: the technician came and fixed some loose pipe underneath the machine. Loose pipe? How often do pipes get loose in this machine? I can't afford another loose pipe, especially as the first time already caused water damaged walls that we're in the process of getting fixed.

Currently on the market for another washing machine that won't damage our house. By the way the customer service is not that bad but just be prepared to wait several days until someone can see you. There's no such thing as an 'emergency' repair.

Disappointed – This machine is a joke!!!! It is super expensive, has an unbelievably long wash cycle and the drying function takes 4 hours and the clothes come out still damp. One Month in: Does the Job But is Slow & Requires Time to Learn (Read The Manual Line By Line) – This review is written from the perspective of a first time owner of a washer/dryer combo. I will write it plainly as though speaking to another similar beginner so you can make the best decision I can help you with. Other washer/dryers may be worse or the same as I understand from folks that Electrolux is a strong brand. I've also deleted my… Read more

previous review and upgraded this machine from a one star to a three star. It does the job well based on my experiences with 6 full cotton wash and dry (have not tested all the other washing yet) but it is not beginner friendly and Electrolux customer service don't really know the machine well so you need to figure most of it out from the manual and from talking to people who have had electrolux machines before as the manual does not detail some of the finer details of this machine.

This is the first washer dryer combo I've ever bought and I was torn between the LG equivalent and this model, I now wonder if I should have bought the LG which has equally diverse views review wise.

The main thing I want to say is that if you are moving from a washer and dryer two machine set up for the first time like I am, this machine washes and dries clothes far slower, what was originally about 30 mins for wash and 30 mins for dry should be now around 2 to 4 times longer (2 hours for a mixed load and 4 to 5 hours for a cotton load if you do a full washing and drying session).

If you do call up Electrolux, the service staff I've spoken to are not familiar with the length of wash/dry time for these machines but will confirm with their technicians after 30 minutes of waiting that these machines can be very slow due to Australian water regulations.

The second piece of advice I have is that this machine requires you to read the manual line by line to have a firm understanding of how this machine works, don't expect to be able to use this machine well without reading the whole manual and do not skip a single line as the service staff at Electrolux are not very familiar with this model and will not be able to give you very good answers to your questions, I got three different answers from three different staff and one was especially rude and unwilling to let me speak to the manager to complain. Rely on the manual for answers and hopefully my below tips will cover things which are not very clear/or are simply not in the manual.

Here are some key tips from one month of using this machine:

1. Washing / Drying Times as declared by the machine at the start of wash are not indicative of how long the machine will run, the machine apparently needs at least 15 minutes to sense what kind of load is in the machine and will change its timing accordingly (Note: I've read this in the manual, the service staff says that this time will change as needed during the cycle and will be fairly dynamic, I will test this will a new load when I have dirty clothes, and if it is not true I will report back). For example, the cotton wash + dry shows as 8 hours 50 minutes when you first change to it, I did not know about this 15 minutes sensor adjustment but the job was done 4 hours later, I will be paying attention to it for my next washing session).

2. Every load type has a different weight limit which you have to calculate before putting into the machine, the machine will not give you an indication of the load weight as I understand the LG does. While the machine can sense a load's weight for its purposes it will not adjust drying times if the load is heavier than what is specified in the manual. It can handle 5kg of cotton for washing and drying but can only handle 3 kg of mixed fabric for washing and drying, do not assume it can handle 5kg regardless of material just because it says so on the box (8kg/ 5kg). (A five kg cotton load comes out cupboard dry, I have not tested mixed fabrics at the 3kg load).

3. The machine will do a three beep when its finished its work as well as when an error has occurred. This confused me at first as the manual does not talk about how the beeps and the error codes relate to each other. When I called Electrolux they first said that three beeps with no error code could still be an error. From what I can tell if it is three beeps and no error code it means its done and if the door is still locked it is because it is preparing the machine to be opened (why not beep when you are ready to open then?). If it is an error I've only seen one but it will three beeps and show an error code on the display. I don't think it beeps without an error code for errors contrary to what Electrolux says.

In conclusion, so far when I've followed the instructions line by line the wash comes out well, but I still need to test this so called 15 minute sensor adjusted time to completion, so I'll revert when I've tested it. Don't expect plug and play for this machine, you need to read the manual end to end and not rely on their customer service.

Questionable Build Quality – Only had this machine for 1 week. It sometimes makes an annoying squeak - I have spent hours trying to level it but I don't think that's the issue. It seems to be coming from the joins of the metal on the outside of the machine. The machine also sometimes has an electrical burning smell for no apparent reason at all. The touch buttons are also way too sensitive and the wash options are quite restrictive.

Very disappointed with this combo – After having an Electrolux combo for the past 6 years, I was looking forward to using this "bigger, better" version. Unfortunately, it has been disappointing from day one. the second day, the dryer didn't dry, even after 8hrs. When I rang cs I was warned that if it wasn't a manufacturing fault, I would be charged the $135 call out fee. I tried again over the weekend to make sure. It worked so I rang back Monday morning to cancel the service. Since then, they dryer has worked intermittently, sometimes leaving clothes almost still soaking wet after a 4hr dry cycle. Also, when the dryer does work, my clothes come out all creased, as if the creases have been ironed in. It now takes me twice as long to iron my husband's shirts to remove the creases. Am definitely not happy.

for 45mins - 1 hr. It'd be nice if I could save this setting but it's not hard to do once you know what you want. I also put the dryer on manually for 20 mins if the clothes have been outside during a winter's day and they dry nicely. It can take 2-3hrs to dry from completely wet but it will sometimes finish sooner. I love that there's no lint on the walls! I also love the type of steam drying that it does as it doesn't seem as harsh on the clothes. The first time you use the machine you are supposed to run it at 90c to remove any manufacturing residue. I'm glad I did this as it had a chemical smell at first, but doesn't anymore. The kids lock is great too! I use that all the time with my curious 11 month old around. And the door feels solid. So, overall, I'm very happy with this combo machine.
