Excellent – Have had our Mitsubishi SRK71ZEA unit for nearly 16 years still going well , only one problem had a noisy fan motor replaced under warranty after 4 years. Will buy another Mitsubishi Heavy Industries again when needed. :) Show details

Not even out of warranty – 5 years and the pump condenser fan motor wore out, MHIAA won't honour the warranty said it landed on the shores on the 1/1/15 and it's burnt itself out on the 2/5/20 Be very careful of these units. 1000 big ones to repair and the unit was 3k originally. Show details

I expected MORE from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – I did quite a bit of research before buying the SRK71ZEA-S1. I had been told Mitsubishi Electric is crap, but the MHI is the way to go as the 2 companies are different. I refuse to buy cheap crap just to save money, I will go without if I cant afford the good stuff, and from my research MHI is quite good, up there with the top air conditioners. To… Read more

my surprise after 5 years the unit tripped the breaker, after resetting the breaker it still didn't work. I decided to clean the indoor unit thoroughly, even removing the indoor fan to clean. Crossing all my fingers and toes, powered the unit back up and turned it on, IT WORKED. Summer ended about a month or 2 later, so the unit stayed off until the following summer. Half way through this summer, the unit has died again, woke up at 2am in the heat to a dead air conditioner. I went outside to check the breaker, it was tripped, so I switched the breaker back on, and restarted the air conditioner. After a few minutes it came up with the fault code for a power issue, RUN Light ON and TIMER Light FLASHING 6 times.

I have have been told its quite a common problem that its a faulty power board and fan motor, around $800 plus fitting. Apparently the MHI units are susceptible to power supply issues, blackouts and power surges cause these units to prematurely FAIL.

I am quite disappointed with this unit, but considering the cost of a brand new different brand with installation costs, there is an argument to have this unit repaired.

The best air conditioner I have ever had – The heat pump I have at present is the fourth Mitsubishi air conditioner over a period of thirty years, due to moving house a number of times. I have never had any trouble with them, they have all been very quiet. quick and easy to operate. No repairs have had to be carried out on any of the four units.  Show details

SRK71ZEA-S1 – Bought this machine in January 2010 and until April 2016 worked a treat, we use it for both heating and cooling and it's our only source for both. We purchased an additional unit in May 2010 for another property which had very occasional use. Both units failed within a couple of weeks of each other both displaying a fault with the external fan.… Read more

The recommended repairers fronted up and pulled it apart and declared the board and motor need replacing, they had no test instruments such as that mentioned on the Mitsubishi web site. I didn't accept their appraisal particularly with the $1020 price tag so I replaced the fuse (not straight forward) and gave it a go, the fan rotated for about 30 seconds then the fuse gave way, that suggested that a replacement motor was all that was required and at $480 that wasn't cheap, but the conditioner hasn't faulted after 3 weeks. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi will not supply bits to the novice and their retailers I reckon slap on a hefty profit.

We do like the machine which is why I persevered. Now have to go through it again with the other one.

Reliable, quiet, does the job well – I purchased this model as a replacement for my 14yo Panasonic. The unit is clearly well made, its air throw is exceptional,. Its quiet and economical. Handles Queensland humidity with ease. I had a choice between another Panasonic, which i couldn't complain about, but this unit had more features, exceptional pulldown speed

A load of crap. Wouldn't buy Mitsubishi again – Purchased our unit in 2010. Our unit was just short of 6 years old when it stopped working. Last year we didn't even use it as our summer was not hot. The previous years hardly used as we live in southern Victoria - not a huge demand. This was an absolute waste of money, over $2,500. We have been told motor has burnt out and needs replacing along… Read more

with a new board. Looking at over $600 just for replacement parts plus labour to install. How can a motor burn out that has hardly been used? It would have been lucky to have been turned on 20 times in 6 years.

Called Mitsubishi who said "sorry, nothing we can do it's out of warranty." Heavy duty what a load of rubbish, has barely been used. Mitsubishi, I agree with other reviewers wouldn't even give you 1 star. Your product appears faulty, you take no responsibility and you customer service appalling. Anyone thinking of purchasing anything Mitsubishi think again. Don't make the same mistake we did.

I made a mistake , i bought a mitsubishi – My home is fully insulated and pitched roof . always 10 degs cooler than outside , so I don't use the AC split very often ,, 2007 I bought the unit , 2010 total breakdown , typically fan motor and PCBs fried due to drop in revs and over heating of boards , so I was told , agents repairman argued with company rep for awhile in my living room that… Read more

THERE SHOULD BE A NATIONAL RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM"...... c/ rep agreed to replace all parts required by repairman, 2015 unit didn't work , called same repairman who tested unit and reported to me ,"same problem" so, WHEN YOU TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THAT THE LAST 5 SUMMERS HAVE BEEN MILD , all in all the unit was turned on approx. 30 times over 8 years { WHICH CAN BE HALVED TO 4 SUMMERS ONLY } and when I contacted the company was FOBBED off and told " ITS OUT OF WARRANTY " go away . so I wouldn't even tick one star if I could ,, JUST REMEMBER THAT MITSUBISHI MADE THE JAP ZERO IN WW2 AND THEY ARE STILL SHOOTING US PEOPLE DOWN ..... CRAP COMPANY CRAP PRODUCT ...COST ME $2000-00 TO HAVE IT RIPPED OUT AND A NEW ONE PUT IN ,,, AND IT AINT NO "HEAVY INDUSTRIES" ONE EITHER ..

What a load of rubbish both the unit and the service received – I have owned one of the 7kw split system air conditioners for 5 years and 3 weeks. Last year it broke down in the peak of summer requiring the mother board and outdoor fan to be replaced, this at 3 years old! At the time I was not impressed by either the unit or the service I received. I initially called Mitsubishi last year asking what could… Read more

possibly be wrong and was advised then that it would cost me a call out fee of $200 to establish this. Frustrated I called a local air conditioning specialist who was so honest that over the phone he advised me to call back and double check that I was not under warranty. I did call back and surprise....I was under warranty even though at my initial call you had all my details and could clearly have known this you would happily have taken my money. Fast forward to this week where yet again the unit has stopped working 3 weeks after my warranty has expired. Exasperated I called and explained the entire scenario to three separate people as I was continually put through to wrong areas. While I can appreciate that my warranty has lapsed by 3 weeks and I have explained how the unit was only 5 years old you cannot see fit to have someone attend to look at this without hitting me up $200 attendance fee ONLY with the charge to increase from there. When I spoke to your office today for the last plea for help I was spoken to like I was a child wished a good day and hung up on. This behaviour on all accounts is so far from acceptable. As a long time Mitsubishi advocate I now have no faith in either your product or service and would definitely not recommend your products to any potential buyers. I did tell you that I would take this to social media, you laughed at me and hung up on me. Looks like I got the last laugh.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries SRK71EA-S – I also have one of these Mitsubishi aircons and its only about 8/9 yrs. old and only got used about a week a year, so not worn out at all and today I put it on for the first time this year and it lasted about 2/3 hours and stopped working and flicked the circuit breaker off and has a burnt smell in outside unit, so looks like its gone out in a big… Read more

way, its not the fan as it still goes around, smell comes form around the PCB's.

My other smaller aircons I got put in at the same time are Fujitsu's and are fine and get used more as they're bedrooms aircons.

The name" Heavy Industries"in Mitsubishi is false leading, as you would think these are heavy duty, as Im sure the dealer who sold it to me said this to me.

This is very disappointing as I gave this brand a first chance and it has let me down.

Expected it to last more than 8 years! – For the 3k I originally paid for my 8kw MHI SRK 80zea system i expected it to last longer than 8 years - the outdoor fan motor failed. Cost to repair over 900.00 quoted. Outrageous considering I live in a mild coastal area and it gets only light to medium use, and also I bought a size larger to easily cope with the size of room so it did not struggle. would not buy MHI again due to lack of longevity.

No regrets. Works like a dream even after 5 years later – I have never regretted getting this air conditioner as it has worked as I expected. It is quite capable to cool and heating my lounge which wider than it is deeper with it is wide flow design. Everything is easy about this unit. The remote is easy to use and the filters are easy to remove and clean. The filter cover is easy to manoeuvre unlike… Read more ·  4

Died after 9 years – Did a lot of research before buying this unit, decided to go with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, not to be confused by Mitsubishi Electrics which I believe make inferior units from various professional opinions. **Update** After just on 9 years it has decided to stop working. The PCB has fried and most likely the DC condenser fan. I've been quoted… Read more

over $1000 to repair it and there's no guarantee that it will last too much longer. The air conditioning bloke said that 10 years is about all you get out of a unit anyway. Quiet and cools really well even on economy setting, nice asthetic design, remote is very easy to use. none to mention

My Dream machine to keep me cool, supreme – This unit is amazing!!! Truly, I'm wrapped. I turn it on and instantly I'll feel it, all the boiling heat, fades, diminishes in seconds. I'm so lucky, it takes no time at all to cool the whole room, the whole house and the whole family down. There's nothing worse than sticky Queensland heat. It gets you down, makes everyone irritable, so I thank… Read more

Excellent – I am an installer and this is by far the best permium brand at the moment on the market. I have had zero failure rate on these now for around 5-6 years. Awesome unit. The indoor unit has a metalic paint finish on it which seems to pick up the colors on the wall surrounding and blends it nicely. Sooo quiet and cheap to run. This is what I installed in my lounge room. Love installing these units. Everything just fits like a glove.  Show 3 replies

Excellent – Great product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reverse cycle split, you are certainly getting a top quality product. Excellent – Overall it is an excellent unit. It has been installed here for 12 months now and provided heating in winter (Down to -7c) and occasional summer cooling.
