Amazing customer service. Great monitor – I am very happy with my Oricom baby monitor. I am very happy with my Oricom baby monitor. Crystal clear sound no drop out or buzzing noise. The only issue I had was the display LCD got damaged from bub dropping it too many times. Got replacement straightaway no issue at all. Highly recommend it!

Batteries overhead – Bought this in 2012. At the beginning, it was working fine but 2 years later, the batteries got over heated very easily, and yes, it can be very dangerous (as per pervious review)! The temperature sensor came off easily as well. If you are after something that last, this may not be the one. Batteries get REALLY hot. poor quality, can be really dangerous.

Didn't Last the Distance – After doing a lot of research, I bought this monitor when my son was a baby. I was very impressed with it at first. The torch, the audio connection to play our own music, talk back feature and the temperature gauge were what won me over however, after not using it for a couple of months (with batteries removed), I tried to use it and the… Read more

temperature sensor had stopped working. This was a huge disappointment as the temperature gauge was one of the most important things for me. I contacted the company who emailed me back and forward, try this, try that etc. In the end, I gave up as no amount of resetting would resolve the problem and I couldn't deal with the beeping to warn me of the temperature. It was great when it worked, but it didn't last long. - Torch - Temperature Gauge - Night Light - Audio in cable to play on music - Talk back feature - Clarity - Working Distance - Lasted not even a year before temperature sensor malfunctioned - Customer service didn't seem to want to help solve problem

Excellent multi-purpose baby monitor – Excellent monitor, it has a good range for the distance of parent monitor to baby monitor link. Love that it came preloaded with lullabies - these definitely have come in handy. You can use your own songs by plugging it in to s MP3 player too. Lots of gadgets to play around with. You would not be disappointed with this monitor. The night light is… Read more

a bit dull, could be just a tad brighter.

I love that the monitor measures room temperature but it does annoy me that you can't change the preset temp. I live where the nights get down close to zero during winter and I knew my daughter was warm enough but the monitor would beep during the night & when I'd turn the sound alarm off it would still beep with each degree as it dropped waking me constantly. I ended up buying a non temp reading monitor for night time. Clear reading, reliable, has a torch on the patent monitor, lulabies on the baby monitor which can be controlled by the parent monitor, can talk to baby through parent monitor, MP3 can be used too Very dull night light & can't keep the sound alert off when temp too low or high - when you know your baby is safe.

NO static, and excellent reception/range – This has ZERO interference, just fantastic, We struggled with interference with our old baby monitor, which buzzed and hummed a bit (it broke and was fixed 3 times until we tried to find something else). We then tried an intercom system that boasted no interference, as we work from our shed. That was the worst purchase we ever made. I was… Read more ·  1

hesitant about this one, but the reviews on here speak for themselves, and im not sorry I purchased the oricom secure 500!

Haven't really got a use for the lullabies or recording, and i wasn't too fussed about the parent talk back feature either (ie- wasnt the reason i purchased it)- but they are included and work well. Haven't tested the range fully- but we have a very old sandstone house with extremely thick walls. our shed is outside probably 50 metres away from the baby's room and the reception is fine. We do have to sit it still and let the 'link' find itself- and found that carrying it around (ie-= on belt clip) means the link can drop out. (we find it easier to just leave it in the same spot rather than carry it around). However the unit beeps so we can tell if the link is lost- so that's handy. The lights light up as well if there is a noise from baby- so is good if we have some machinery on in the shed but can still see if baby is awake etc.

Battery life is great-pretty much like a cordless phone, you leave it on tghe charger overnight and during the day you can use it and take it off without a problem. Just so impressed, I wouldn't consider buying anything else :) Main things were the reception, no static, and good range. aesthetically looks quite a lovely unit too.

Great monitor. Very reliable – Bought this in 2012 for bub number 2. It's never faltered. We charge it overnight in our bedroom and bring the parent unit downstairs during the day and the battery lasts 14 hours (we forget to turn it off so it's often on all day). Like the temp guage too but would love to be able to turn off or reset the preset limits. Sound quality is… Read more ·  1

excellent, as is that of our other Oricom monitor (SC200) for our first child. We had an issue with the parent unit charger of the other monitor and Oricom replaced it straight away - excellent customer service. They even replaced a cable free of charge which was chewed to bits by baby number 2. Impressed. Reliable, very clear sound quality. Great device. We have also had excellent customer service and product support from Oricom with our other monitor. Nothing!

Very clear sound and good range – Have had this for 4 months and have been really impressed with clarity and range. Temperature gauge and alarms for temperature & battery levels are really handy. Dangerous! Batteries overheating – Sometimes the batteries in the parent unit get very hot when it is sitting on the charging base. I tried changing the batteries but it still happened. I'm afraid it could start a fire so I have stopped using it altogether. It's a shame, because it works well other than that. It has a good range and is user friendly. Good range, user-friendly Dangerous - batteries overheat

Very good monitor, battery life is poor – We have had this for 10 months now and it has been very consistent and clear. Reception has been great, even in our split level apartment. The only downside it the battery is quite poor and doesn't last a whole night which is disappointing so we're always taking the parent unit charger around the house which is annoying. Very clear, reliable Poor battery life on parent unit (approx 5-6 hours)

Great...but then not so great! – I have been really happy with the Secure500...that is apart from the battery performance - or lack of!! Great peace of mind – We've had this monitor for our baby since she was born. Now 19 months later we still use it constantly and have had no problems with it at all. An excellent purchase! – Bought the Oricom 500 after reading positive reviews on this site and I have no regrets. No interference whatsoever! baby. Talk back feature is good. Night light feature is good. It's all good. No interference. Clear sound. The rechargeable batteries on parent unit lose power a lot quicker than expected. Need to keep the unit on the charger overnight otherwise it loses it's charge and you start getting an annoying alarm to tell you that power is low.

A great monitor – Great baby monitor, I had an old one that I had to give back to the person i borrowed it off. was constantly getting interference. This monitor is excellent. All you hear is the baby when she wakes up! It also has a lot of additional features that I probably won't use but nice to have them there. Can get for $99 delivered online. Quiet, batteries last a long time.  Show reply

I highly recommend this monitor! Does everything that is says!

Best one we brought – this wasn't the first monitor we brought, but it the last. The one we got before this one either didn't work very well or there was way to much static to sleep with the parent monitor in our room. The built in light and mp3 input are all great. It is also able to tell you the room temperature. easy to use and low level of static

A++++ Can't find any faults with this monitor – Excellent monitor. No static, interference, or drop outs. Perfectly clear sound. Love the temperature reading. Rechargable parent unit, and battery option on baby unit. I love being able to record my own voice to play for bubs. All round excellent monitor. I even dropped the parent unit in our pool and it still works perfectly!!

Good – Initially when baby was little and he slept for longer periods, I would use the parent unit when having a shower or putting out clothes. We also used it at night when I was still feeding him overnight and reading the temp constantly when we were completely paranoid about SIDS and overheating. I would use the torch to go feed him so that was great.… Read more

Now that he is 10 months old, we don't use the parent unit at all but the baby unit is still on. The temp in his room is more regulated now but still useful to check the temp. Baby and I also like to look at the unit after he wakes up. We turn on the lights and play a nursery rhyme and he likes to listen and look at the lights, only looking away when the blue light turns off! A really useful unit! Great design. All the features are useful. The temperature reading is so helpful. Always wanted to see the time! A clock would be great!

The beeping when temperature gets too high or low can be confusing and annoying, especially when baby is not sleeping, you have to turn the parent unit off, but I guess that is the point!

Disappointed – We bought this monitor with the idea that it would last for more than one child and it won't unfortunately. had our proof of purchase it took some time for them to replace the base unit as it was a faulty charger and we were without a monitor during this time and had to pay for the freight and they allegedly repaired the parental unit as we received the same one back, it never really worked the same as it did when new and of course when the warranty expired it didn't work at all.

I didn't feel as though we received very good customer service from Oricom.

The thermometer is not accurate and have found it to be about 5 degrees out regardless of where you place the unit.

The unit is now out of warranty and the charge in the parental unit still does not last unless it remains on charge - bit pointless in being cordless really. So we will now need to invest in another baby monitor, this time I will not purchase Oricom. For the price of this unit you would expect it to last longer than the 12 months we used it for. Good night light and torch Oricom customer service terrible

It is everything we needed in a monitor and glad it didn't come with a panic inducing breathing monitor that just makes you more paranoid.

The temp function is good, but always displays a temperature of 2 degrees more than the Gro egg. And I don't know which is the accurate one which annoys me. I've used the torch a few times too.
